The U-haul experience as a whole was the worst. Tha app. Didn’t work at all so had to call U-Haul numerous times just to pick up my truck. Dropping it off after hours was the same story. App. Didn’t work and after waiting on hold forever I just put keys in mailbox and left. Won’t be using U-Haul again!!

The reservation form not really being a reservation was absurd. We made decisions based on price and ended up spending $100more because the size we reserved was not available. And when the unit was not available at the location, size or time requested, uhaul Simply changed it instead of contacting me. The change did not work for us either. It took us calling in to get something that would work. Furthermore, I reserved 12 moving blankets but only 8 were provided. On return, we were charged for missing blankets. It was a one way rental so the return place had no way of knowing the pick up was incorrect. Overall, it was a horrible experience where uhaul had crappy customer service.

Justin at Bellingham Coin Shop unfortunately seemed to have little to no experience handling the issues I encountered during my rental. Apparently, due to the semi-confusing nature of the u-haul website, I accidentally rented a round trip when I meant to schedule a one way from Bellingham to Seattle. When I went in to pickup the truck, Justin was not aware of the mistake even after I confirmed with him that I was dropping off the truck in Seattle. It was until well after I had left and was on the road that I then received a barrage of phone calls trying to deal with the situation. Justin had initially assured me that my card would not be charged until after I had dropped off the U-Haul, which makes sense considering there’s no way to know the mileage I need to pay for until after I’ve returned the vehicle. When he called me to ask me to help him correct the mistake and pay the additional fee for the one way drop off, I was not aware that my card had already been charged, as he had not made it clear that U-Haul apparently charges a “holding fee” to the car that is then credited later. Because of this, I didn’t have the money in my account to pay for the new fee. Instead of simply pro-rating the extra 40 or so dollars for the one way trip, he told me he had to charge me the full fee AGAIN, this time of 160 dollars. Since I had already paid 120 and was not going to simply give away 280 dollars until the company credited me, and since the initial mistake was the employee’s own fault for letting me leave with the truck in the first place, I refused to allow the fee to be charged to me again and asked that he speak to his manager. I didn’t receive word back from him after that, and then I checked my account to see that U-Haul had charged me an additional 115 dollars. I have no idea why this amount was decided, as even though Justin told me explicitly he would call me back once he spoke to his manager, he did not. So, to summarize, I have now paid a total of 235 dollars to U-Haul for a trip that was estimated at 160. The receipt I received upon dropping off the U-Haul simply says my total was 0 dollars. None of this makes any sense, and I have received no credit from the company as of yet. This process made my move even more stressful than it already was, and I will not be recommending anyone to either Justin at Bellingham Coin Shop or the company at large until this matter is resolved to my satisfaction.

I didn't receive a contract in paper because the place was out of paper. I didn't receive the contract in my email until AFTER I returned the truck 5 hours later. Fortunately, I noticed where the fuel gauge was at before leaving so I knew where to fill it to when I finished. Besides that I was pretty satisfied! The guys were very friendly and I'm happy it was easy to get in and get a truck!
