To say this has been a miserable experience would be an understatement and a disservice to the community. They are not only attempting to play around with my finances, they put people lives at risk and wasted my time more than I'd ever be ok with. It starts July 5th when I reserved a trailer for use on July 12th. I went to pick up the trailer on the 12th only to be told by the location they didn't have one and that my reservation didn't mean they would. I was sent 45 minutes across town to pick up another. The one I received was possibly the worst maintained trailers I've ever had the displeasure of using. Incredibly rusted, low/leaking tires, and a sway that wouldn't go away. I couldn't drive over 60 miles an hour on the interstate or the sway would try to pull me out of the lane We ended up making 4 of the 10 hour drive we had to make before the tire finally let go after having to air it up twice. I was lucky enough to get the vehicle off of the trailer before it went all the way flat. I looked up local U-Haul places nearby and drove over there to swap out the trailer, the new one was FAR better. No sway, no rust, perfection. We return Monday the 16th, I go to drop off the trailer at the main Baton Rouge location as I knew I didn't have the same car hauler I left with and wanted to make sure there was no issue. I got there at 7am and asked for the manager top discuss the reservation issue and trailer issue, and was instructed to go to the place I picked up the first one from (45 minutes out of my way) and they would check it in. and that the manager would be in at 8. So I do, and there is no one there, and they don't open till 9am. So I drive BACK to the main Baton Rouge location where I ask for the Manager Kevin. (It's not about 8) I'm told he won't be in till 8:30 and I HAVE to drop the trailer off at the other location no matter if someone is there or not. So I do. I drive BACK to the Baton Rouge location, it's now about 8:45. Kevin is finally in, where we talk about the whole situation and he apologies for everything and offers me a $100 refund, I accept. I see later that day where the whole amount of $275 was refunded, I figured he had made the choice to refund it all and left it alone. Then comes July 18th, where I am billed $206 by U-Haul for no reason I can see. I call up the U-Haul in Baton Rouge, no answer. I drive up there and of course, Kevin isn't there. I call his cell, he tells me he isn't in front of a computer and there is nothing he can do and he will look into it in the AM. So today, the 19th, I call back up there AGAIN. They answer, and I am told that I have to call the 1-800 number and that he can't do anything and won't. Fantastic Customer Service I'd say. Avoid this place and their products.

The site itself is in a not so excellent area of town. Picking up early in the morning or late at night by online check-in is not advised. And it would be best to advise renters to pick up in pairs.

Personnel requested that I bring The U-Haul back a day earlier then proceeded to charge me $14 for gas. I still had to pay $445 for the service itself and still rushed to empty the truck in an attempt to help their business. For them charge me extra money for gas is extremely low down, especially when gas is $2.49/gallon and I easily could’ve put $5 more in the tank and got the truck where it needed to be had I not been rushed to bring the truck to them! The experience was beyond inconvenient and I will NEVER EVER refer anyone to such unprofessional service!

Location owner was very rushed through the process and failed to reference the need to checkout online over weekends or after-hours. Nor any instruction on where to leave truck. Ironically, nothing was referenced by the rep I spoke with by phone when extending the rental. So I return the truck over weekend to a full lot of cars from the auto shop onsite. No room to park without blocking. Parked nearby to try and contact the owner and figure out I needed to maneuver the largest rig they rent (of course). Off major hwy so, you know you only get one shot at this without aggravating everyone on the road.. Ended up getting it parked and had to find key drop which was at the building next door. I leave only to come back after I realize there's a check in process and end up paying for an extra day for it being an hour late. No contact after choosing option for disputing charges online and ended up with charge posted anyway. Sigh... Pros - newer clean truck and equipment rented. May not rent Uhaul but, truth be told, could be a good mechanic with all the cars on the lot.

The box was clean enough, but the cab smelled of extreme cigarette smoke. My mom is allergic to smoke so we were forced to rent a rental car on top of this truck. It is unacceptable that we had to pay for an extra vehicle because U-Haul doesn’t have a no-smoking policy for their vehicles.

Revoke their ability to rent u haul. I was pre paid and pre checked in for a 1:45pm pickup and no one was there to retrieve my reserved trailer! The owner blamed UHAUL corporate for allowing me to book during his “prayer time.” That he does not do business between 1pm and 2pm. Also he tried to make me pay again even after it was prepaid.
