I was unable t complete the self check in - the vehicle indiicated was not present, nor were the two alternate suggested by the app. As a result the dolly and blankets I reserved were also not present and I had to wait until the store was open to complete my pick up. Staff are friendly but not fast - there is a wait and no sense of urgency about getting me out quickly after having failed to produce my reserved vehicle on time.

The equipment was great. No complaints about the pricing. The customer service was horrible! Both when I picked up and dropped off. The gentleman that assisted me during pick up shared with another client that he only got one day off and another employee called in sick so the store was running shorthanded again! I felt sympathy that he was feeling overworked. At drop off I approached the same gentleman outside to ask if I had parked in the appropriate place and he barked at me, “I’m off the clock!” I’m sure he was tired, but that is not a good excuse to be rude to a client. I think this associate needs a day off and to feel like he has support when he is at work because he clearly is feeling like he has to do everything. He only gets one shot to make a 1st impression on a client and some other guest may think negatively about the Uhaul brand itself based off of the way they were treated.

Everything checked out good on the trailer on the lot. But less than 50 miles down the road some of the lights on the trailer failed. The left brake and turn indicator no longer worked. Right side still worked. I noted this when I checked the trailer in but they didn't seem interested, did not note or try to check it out. I presume the next customer will have the same problem.

Once again, only one person working front desk, he was VERY RUDE, & not give accurate directions. Other customers dropping off trucks was very, very upset. Only one man working out side, he was not people were waiting to check out but he was very nice.

The service in Bakersfield was great, but we struggled to get a cargo trailer we lived in Inglewood and had to drive to Bakersfield for the trailer and back to LA to do the moving. The locations in LA had the trailers but said they couldn’t rent us those because those were only for around that area. But other than that situation in Inglewood the locations where we picked up and dropped off were great

Gave me a truck with a locked cargo area but did not provide a key to unlock it. I called Uhaul and was told to wait for a call back. An hour later, when I did not recieved a call back, I decided to take the truck back to Uhaul. UHaul said it was not their fault because it was not their truck. Yet they had the key and took the lock off of the cargo area. I asked them what they were going to do about the gas usage, Mileage, and my time. They recalibrated the mileage and gas and gave me until 7 to return the truck. I lost 2 of my helpers at 4pm and was unable to complete my move due to starting so late and losing my helpers. I had to borrow a friends truck the next day and move items by myself due to the incompetence of the men working at this store. I posted my experience on Facebook and will post it on Yelp and every other website that I can find.

Taft, California location. I reserved a U-Haul over a week in advance. The day I was supposed to pick up the U-Haul, I went to the location to confirm the truck would be there. The lady was rude, she would not speak to me, she would not check my reservation. I had to call U-Haul in her store to make a complaint on her and to be use the U-Haul would be there. The lady checked her computer while I was making a complaint. She told me the U-Haul would be there at 5pm, the lady on the phone also verified the truck would be there at 5pm. We showed up at 5pm the truck was not there, the lady in the store told us it was unavailable, I reminded her that she had told me a few hours earlier the truck would be there, she just shrubbed her shoulders, I called U-Haul again, they informed me the truck was rented out. U-Haul was trying to get me in one of her trucks, she said she will not rent a truck to us. She is the one who screwed up and gave my truck away. She was rude unapologetic, she did not try to help with a solution. Worst customer service I have ever received. U-Haul said I would have to go to the other U-Haul which is almost a hour away from our house to pick up a truck. This was such a inconvenience, we were on a very short time frame, now we had to drive almost an extra 2 hours to get a U-Haul plus about 4 hours of waisted time to get fuel and paper work. When we finally go to our house, we opened the U-Haul and saw the guy st the Bakersfield location gave us the wrong dolly. They gave us a credit for that error. The Taft location is very unprofessional. This entire U-Haul experience has been a joke. Friday morning when I contacted U-Haul, the representative I spoke to said she would get the district manager involved and the owner of the Taft location would be there at 5pm to help us with the truck, never happened. I have called several times during the week to make sure the U-Haul would be ready, it was not. The staff at U-Haul all they did was lied to me. Absolutely horrible experience
