The U-haul truck had a very foul odor coming from the cab. At first, it was not noticeable but after having it for a while the smell was very noticeable. it smelled like something was rotting.

It's just very expensive to be charged per mile. If price would be a lil cheaper per mile it would be o.k. but next time I think I rather borrow a truck and spend alot less money, this way. IDK that I would rent again.

Rental smelled like manure and/or a carcass had been transported in it prior to my usage. Flies were present in the rental vehicle after rolling down the window. Rental was also not as clean as expected. Other than that, great service and ease of transaction. I reserved it online and the process was easy!

AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS NOT RETURNED and EMAILS SENT REGARDING MY RENTAL, I CALLED THE CALL CENTER TO ILLICIT A RESPONSE. I was rented the wrong sized truck and was charged an extra day despite my calls to the store and to the Manager regarding the truck size posing problems and asked for a 1 hour Grace Period. I sent an email requesting a call but instead got this email from the GM. This is the GMs response to my request for a telephone call to discuss: Mr. H, this email is to address your concerns and to informed you that after reviewing your last rentals I was able to see that you actually left our location without paying for your rental charges. I can also see that in order for you to take your last rental you had to pay off the previous balance due. Mr. H we appreciate your business but you need to understand that all charges are to paid in full up on return, I am sure you understand this since you are business man your self, with that said I would like to inform you that all charges are correct and will stand and payment is to be received up on completion of your rental to avoid any additional fee's , and last the reason your charges are more on this last rental is because you drove an additional 102 miles please review your receipts. thank you. JO General Manager I replied: Mr. XXX General Manager, Thank you for your time and personal attention to my inquiry. I believe there is some confusion regarding my question/open account balance. Firstly, I am never not trying to pay you; and with all due respect I am hoping that we aren’t missing an opportunity to continue working together. In the past, your office has always been friendly and helpful to myself and my staff as I have grown XX and XXX into your market as XXXX for almost 2 years now. I rent both trucks and trailers from you; almost exclusively, while operating in Bakersfield. Recently, as you have noted, I rented two trucks. The first rental I had hoped to discuss with you in person on the date of the second rental. However, you were off on that day. I simply paid the balance in store and accepted the second rental. So here is where I am at and what I am seeking to accomplish: On the first of the two rentals I had reserved a 20 foot truck and received a 26 which was a bit large for my jobsite and led to some hiccups on the move. Anticipating a late return I called your office twice hoping to avoid incurring an additional charge. My receipt notes a check-in time an hour after it was due in. I AM PAINFULLY AWARE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE FIRST RENTAL, that is why I honestly thought that I could count on the hour courtesy. Simple, right? Rental Two (and here is where Mr.XX, Area Manager, comes in) I mostly rent and reserve online and on the second rental I did just that, except that I knew that I was going to log over 350 miles… so I contacted Kirk to negotiate a friendlier rate for me going forward. I completed my order online and still waited too long for service. My trailer was dirty on the inside. A padlock was left on the door to my trailer and I could not get it open. I called customer service and they sent roadside assistance which never showed up. I called again and was assured that the location would call me soon to fix the issue. I had to break the padlock to use the trailer. I was never called. I ordered and paid for blankets that I never received. I returned the trailer after hours and there was no problem with that. My overall experience was not positive.

We had to use a UHaul from Shafter to Bakersfield to pick up a tow dolly for our car - pay for the 40 miles to and from as there was no tow dolly in Shafter - in the wrong direction from our destination. It would be good if there were some break on the 40 miles as our car was broken down and couldn't be driven. The reps of your company were all helpful, especially Adrian in Shafter, Kietha on phone and an unknown rep in San Rafael.

While the hitch seems to have been properly installed the problem was with the manager and the online service. I ordered a hitch and electric wiring to be installed through the website. The location we usually go to for service had told me that the part I needed was located at union so I made my reservation there. When we arrived the manager told us they had sold the gmc part and that we should call around town to see if we could buy it for $50. We spent a half hour chasing our kids around the store and calling places o my to tell him we wanted a refund. After questioning him, he then told us we could still get the seri ice just not with the custom part!!! Had we known that we would not have called around looking to spend more money!!! And why did I think I was paying for that part online? Or was he going to try to up-sale us? On top of that install was suppose to take 2 1/2 hours and ended up taking 5!!!! We were late getting out of town and had to get our daughter picked up from school because of this!!!!! Then the manager wants to email and say that he had told us that we didn't pay for the gmc part and that we didn't need it. Which he did, after the fact! And I was under the complete understanding we were getting the part from what the online service recommended and per our usual location. Second, he wanted to say that we should be glad to have only paid $78 for install because he would have charged us $90!!!!!! I would like to be called her this situation because it infuriates me to have had such Terri Le customer service and communication on his behalf. I've never had issues anywhere I've gone. This tells me it's him. We requested a partial refund for his mismanagement and that's the response we got. Our whole trip with our 4 kids under the age of 6 was thrown off by over 3 hours because of him!

Let them know that tbey can not drop off at any location....when we tried dropping at a location closer to our home they wanted to charge us $300 after the guy who rented us the equipment told us we could drop it anywhere.

I have a formal situation that needs to be addressed through Human Resources I feel disrespected and discriminated against by certain individuals that have now created a problem that I will not take lightly. I was poorly handled this last rental and was grossly lied to and overcharged after I have proven myself to be a loyal customer that does not abuse vehicles. I do not appreciate being lied to or mislead.

I rented online and was advised by the site that I could pick up the trailer at the location I requested, I received a call stating that the trailer was not available at the location I requested even though the website said it was. I also checked in online as is stated my check in at the location would be much faster than if I didn’t. Well 45 minutes after arriving I was able to get the trailer and leave. These were not my biggest concern, my biggest concern is that the trailer I was given did not have a jack stand, therefore when I returned the trailer after hours, I was unable to use the jack stand to get the trailer off of my truck, I had to physically lift the trailer off my hitch and drop it to the ground. Very disappointing. I have rented many times with U-Haul and never have I ever had a trailer with out a jack stand. Also when asking the agent about the concern I had about not having a jack stand, and not wanting to break my back, he stated that I would be able to lift it no problem, not very concerned. Very disappointed in my overall experience
