I have rented from this place two previous times and have always had a fine experience. This past weekend was much less so. Pick up was fine - the gentleman who helped us was pleasant, even though we had been an hour late on pick-up. We were doing a short cross-town move so we had no problem getting the truck back on time. The keys were given to us by "Ryan" (or "Brian?") and we jumped in and drove off. We did not do a walk through of the vehicle, which, in hindsight, we will demand the next time. We had assumed a vehicle in great condition and didn't think twice about it. We had the truck for TWO HOURS and were scheduled to have it for 6. We were supposed to return it by 4 pm and we had it back to the UHaul rental at 1:15 pm. We drove 15 of the 30 miles that we approximated. Upon return, a very unpleasant lady (name unknown) did an inspection and immediately pointed out the top rear driver's side corner of the truck. She asked , "what happened there?" And we looked up and saw it (for the first time), and said, "well good question - that was there when we got it because that was not us." We did not drive near/under anything that could have even come close to causing that. When we had picked it up, it was outside of the carport, facing OUT, with the driver's side hidden to our view. Again, another reason why this blemish was unnoticed. The woman continued to berate us, saying that she will "have to charge us since we didn't buy the insurance." I opted against the insurance knowing full well that we had a very easy one-trip move. We continued to tell her that in no way was that us and that it must have been there when we had picked up the truck, but that we were never given an opportunity to do a walk through. She spoke to us with a rude, condescending and accusatory tone. She claimed that she would "check the security footage" to see if it had been there previously, and that she'd be right back. We waited 10 minutes and she did not return. Luckily another employee was very kind, and inspected it herself and said, "it looks like there are X's there." So again we wait another 5 minutes before I finally go back inside to find the original gal who accused us of damaging the truck. She had been helping some other customer and completely neglected to come back to let us know. When I approached her she sheepishly said, "oh I thought you guys had left." The end outcome was that the dent was NOT caused by us, it HAD been accounted for previously, and that we were only being charged for the 15 miles that we drove. We had been standing in the exact same spot where she accused us of damaging the truck, and waited patiently while she claimed that she had to "check security footage." She never came back to inform us of anything and left us hanging. I am 100% positive she was looking for a reason to blame us, perhaps to make money off of someone who opted out of the insurance. Steve Womack is someone I would hire if I needed a dedicated customer satisfaction type of guy, puts you at ease, and knowledgeable of his product. Alaska is an unconventional place to travel so the cracked windshield and gravel dents are the norm.

One day prior to picking up my equipment that I reserved July 10th for a July 27th evening pick up date. I confirmed all of the information with that store as well as a late pick up time. I was called on July 26th and told that I would have to pick up equipment (a cargo van) at a different location as they had over booked for this type equipment. I once again confirmed all of the information with that store as well as a late pick up time. I was flying into town with 4 show dogs for a show 30 miles away from the location where I was to pick up the equipment. I had to leave my dogs at the airport with my assistant while I took a cab which cost me over $40.00 in comparison to $20 to pick up at the original location. When I got to the location where I was supposed to have a van waiting. They did not have one either as they did not get the note that I would not be picking up until 4:00 on the 27th. I ended up leaving my dogs and my assistant at the airport for over two hours trying to figure out what to do when lucky for me someone returned a van. Otherwise I would not have gotten one. They did a very quick clean the van before giving it to me but it was not clean. Now they are charging me a $75.00 cleaning fee. I am not at all happy with this
