We have been disappointed with the service since it changed management. I have been renting every fall at this location and this fall we rented three weekends in a row for a total of over $1100. For the last few years, it has been incredible good service but this year the service was unsatisfactory. They did not check our vehicle back in so there was a frantic call the next morning wondering where it was when we turned it in on time and it was sitting on their lot. We got charged for two days instead of one and then had to go through the process to get a credit even though it was turned in on time. No one was inside store for almost 15 minutes when we tried to turn in a vehicle the next weekend. Just overall poor customer service.

My U-Haul was in rough shape with part of the siding material sticking out near the accelerator pedal making it harder to drive without catching your foot. The steering wheel material was torn up and worn through, and rep trying to clean the truck when they drove it up because it wasn’t cleaned beforehand. However, I was happy with the personnel that I interacted with on both pickup and drop off and overall I am happy with the experience.

I picked up the 5x8 and my bad, I didn’t do a walk around like I should have, I took the U-Haul employees word for it. Got to my house to load and discovered that the right back tire had a chunk of rubber missing, a spot about 8x10 inches in size, we getting another trailer, I had to drive by where I picked it up at and 7 more miles down the road, that guy was to lazy to print new paper work so he hand wrote the new trailer # on the contract, I lost an hour of my time and the extra gas ( my truck loves gas when pulling a trailer) exchanging the trailer. So, if I could give me man a score lower then 0 I would. He bragged about how he was going to take care of me and everything was just as it should be. NOT!

The return gate is tricky to get to. There's a sign on the first gate you come to saying go to the right, but I misread it and thought they were instructions for once you were inside the gate, so we spent several minutes trying to figure out where to go and whether or not we needed a code. We called for help, but we were connected to a main Uhaul line that didn't know much about this particular location. Eventually, I realized the sign must mean to go through the parking lot to the right on the outside of the fence. It was confusing and would have been helpful to have some instructions beforehand.

The people working at this location are very friendly and helpful. However, U-Haul's online experience and customer service are terrible. I was supposed to be set up for an early pickup using UHaul's Truck Share 24/7 system, but it did not work. I kept getting a message that a truck was not reserved for me. I called customer service several times, but they were clueless, and were not able to help me. Ultimately, they just put me on permanent hold because they didn't know how to help. If not for the local folks in the store, i would not use UHaul ever again. Please try to fix your early pick-up system and try to hire and train customer service people who can actually provide service.

My only complaint was that there was a colony of ants living under the rubber gasket around the side door on the passenger side. Thankfully they were all on the exterior but that should have been treated before the van was rented.

Greeted by employee who told me never come earlier than my reservation (nice welcome!); reserved a 10' truck, received a 15' under the guise none was available; changed rental location to further from where I requested online. Felt they gave me the truck they did not want because it was a one-way with drop in Florida. Overall, did not get the truck or location requested online even though far in advance. Felt there was bait and switch.

Don't use the Brookhaven location. It is really bad. This location was excellent and all of the personal at the Holcomb/Nesbit Ferry location are friendly, competent and fast.
