I was told to make sure the truck was back by 8 a.m. b/c it was going right back out on Sunday. I was there at 5 minutes to 8 only to find out that you do not even open until 9. The clerk said she does not know why that was said. She also said that she is usually there at 830 but didn't make it till 845.

I made a reservation to be picked up at a location close to my home, only to receive a confirmation the evening before moving stating that I would actually have to pick up my truck at a different location much further away. This was very inconvenient, and also more expensive for me.



Lower the cost for a one way trip. Would've preferred to leave the trailer at it's destination. (Tennessee) Financially, it made more sense to do a round trip.

I was billed for a utility dolly that I did not use. There was nothing asking me to check for equipment before driving off the lot. This should be included in the online check in process.

There was broken glass ALL over inside the bed of the truck. We had to clean it out before we even used it! Also, we had to wait for them to get our truck ready well after our scheduled pick-up time. Not to mention we were sent to pick-up at a location that was 20 minutes farther than the location we requested. When I called the original location (Tallmadge Ave) to ask about it, I was told we hadn't spent enough money for them to go through the hassle of moving the truck and trailer for us.

Check engine light was on when I went to leave the depot. I returned to the service desk to report it. I was told not to be concerned it only meant the truck was due for service/oil change. Perhaps that should have been explained before I left so I would not be concerned. Better yet, perhaps that service should be performed before renting the truck.

Our U-Haul was not at the location the where we were supposed to pick it up, so we had to drive 45 minutes to go and get it, and the $50 rebate didn't save us any money because of the gas to get back home.

Very easy pick-up and return process. Driver's seat belt would not buckle properly; the constant chiming was a little irritating. Overall, however, a good rental experience. I would use this location in the future.

There is no way to contact the office that you just picked up a rental from! I got about 12 mikes away, backed in and parked to start loading and the back of the truck was padlocked shut. The office that I had rented from was large and had numerous employees on the clock. I decided I was not driving back. They were going to bring me the key. I called the number that the manager gave me on my paperwork, a woman answered and I assumed it was the person that was taking care of the guest next to me 15 minutes earlier. I asked to speak to Chris the general manager. She told me to give her my number and she would have him call. I waited 30 minutes and called again. A different person answered and I explained again what happened and she suggested that roadside service could help. She transferred me and no one every picked up in that queue. I called a third time and asked to be transferred to chris Millard the GM of uhaul of Akron. They said they would have to have him call me. I have number again and waited 15 minutes then got in truck and drove back. I pulled in to drop off area and was met by female employee. "Back so soon"? I told her that I was only given one key and the back was locked. I'm pretty sure she said to Chris as he appeared "we forgot to unlock the back of the truck". He disappeared around a corner and reappeared with the "master key". Bolt cutters. He cut the lock off. She pushed the door up and said. Here are the dollies we were missing. They unloaded those and that was it. I told Chris that I called the number he gave me and that it was impossible to get connected to him. He admitted that working through the phone tree was difficult but never apologized or said anything recognizing my loss of an hour- plus or the fact that I drove the first 24 miles because of their error. U-Haul really is an adventure in moving! I paid for those miles and was not offered any sort of discount or apology. Customer service was not adequate.
