Everything. Truck was in poor condition. Quoted separately then charged. Was told would be cheaper option and was not. General manager was no help.
I'm not sure if these issues were this locations fault but they did not have the furniture pads that I reserved and the pick-up process was slow. I feel that too many reservations were made for the same time. They changed my drop off location and time, again, might not have been this locations fault but this was not a great first experience.
The gas wasn't where it was pose to when me n my bf first got it and the associate said he was gone notate it and when we returned it the we put the same amount of gas when we first got it and the manager Ethan was being a hero and he has an attitude problem
The app wouldn't let me upload a photo, but someone saw me dropping off the trailer and checked me out.
Short on staff. Only had one person working. Seemed overwhelmed. Location was clean and well stocked with accessories.
The driver side windshield wiper was broke and I drove through a snow storm with terrible visibility. I was not told the driverside door lock did not function nor was I told about how difficult it was to turn the key in the ignition. It took 5 minutes to get the truck started a number of times. I did not feel safe in the truck.
Hello yes when I had got this 9 inch van this time the gas wasn't even a quarter to half of tank at all
The equipment I rented JH3851B was having serious engine issues check engine light was on when I picked it up. When I mentioned this to the personal at the location I received a reply of don't worry about it all the in town trucks have that light on. Dealt with engine having a bad miss that became noticeable around 1800rpm. Under load was very much an issue loss of power on hills and pulling out from a stop. Had to have service come to my house while I was loading the truck to replace the passenger front tire as it was going flat. My experience with the service personal was excellent and even Uhaul's customer service was very easy and pleasant to deal with.

Ethan was very nice and understanding but for his morning opener Alyssa she was very rude and did not want to do her job as in check in the van when I brought it back and tried to charge me a full day when it was noted in the computer for the reason.
I requested an appliance dolly from the young man st the counter. Only to discover that he did not give me one but I was charged for it...made my move so much more difficult
Truck pick up out of business hours. Whole parking lot iced up and slippery. Fell twice. 24/7 pick up advertised is misleading and false advertisement. At 7am, on 12/27/20, while it did not snow in Akron the night before, the truck was still snowed in and iced. Had to clean it up myself and noticed the back door was iced. It could not be opened to load truck. Contacted roadside assistance/customer support which was of no help as I was told to wait until facility opens at 9am. Facility staff failed preparing the truck the day before. I wasted 1:30h of my time. When coming back after facility opened to pick up a motorcycle trailer, had to tell staff to clean up trailer from snow (it still hadn't snowed the night before...). Staff would answer the snow would go away on the highway. Well, I am not going on the highway! So please make it happen instead of making excuses. Bringing back the truck and trailer at facility the next day, during business hours, no employee shows up 15min after parking. Had to check it in myself online and finally got into the office and found staff person on her phone and asking me to park the truck and trailer somewhere else. Sign under return canopee indicates that during business hours staff is responsible for doing the check-in and take it from them. Overall, staff is lazy, giving attitude to customer, not doing the job I AM paying them to do. Facility is poorly maintained. I wish I could rate it 0 Star. Will never come back to U-haul Akron University not recommend it to anyone.
I have rented trucks for many years from this location. The last 2 times did not go well. The clerk that helped me on December 22 was not friendly and did not greet me with a hello or any sort of greeting. He was not in the store when I arrived. He looked at me when I pulled in driveway. He did not say I will be in shortly. So I was not aware that he was the only one working until I was inside. I began the process to register and tried uploading my id. I explained that to him when he finally came in as I was exiting to get my id. He began to process my registration and I explained again I'm almost done. He asked for my id and I told him to let me finish online. He said he still needed my id. Once I tried to hand him my id he did not reach to take it out my hand. I said no your going to look at it. Especially since I had to get it out the car and wasted my time doing the online stuff. Also a few years back my sister was pulled over by the cops after renting a uhaul. They told her the truck was listed as stolen. Wow. Uhaul did not compensate her for the trauma she suffered. I'm trying to continue business with uhaul. It seems to be getting worse each year.
tire had to have air put into it....70 lbs of air...low. told to fill up gas tank only went 19 miles used 1/2 tank? 8 miles of that was when it was loaded. we did not check the gas level which is our fault at the beginning. 20m gallons of gas for 19 miles? Hardly.
I had reserved a 26' truck, but it was unavailable due to a mechanical error. The manager on duty offered me a 20' and sincerely apologized. He was very professional and helpful in the process. This location isn't the most convenient for me, but i continue to return because of the friendly staff. Despite having a smaller truck, our experience was positive.
10 ft Truck for local hauling was in bad shape, needs front end work and service engin light was on...Did get the job done but not a very nice Truck at all.
The 20' box truck I rented needs repaired. The. Passenger mirror did not rotate. This caused a serious hazard while driving. Upon return I showed the u-haul truck nd he could not get it to rotate either. This location should really be inspecting this particular mirror rotation on all of the trucks. I hope Uhaul understands the safety aspect of using your mirrors in a large boxes truck.
I was unaware that I was not able to pay half cash and remainder on credit card. This completely ruined my finances for my move out of state.
If you spend the time to pre register, scan license and add your card to your website and sign all disclosures, you should not have to spend any time doing it all again. This should be a completed transaction and be on your way especially during COVID. Every location is understaffed, there is no way one person can do it all.
The girl who waited on me was rude and told me you did not have a furniture dolly but then the guy said yes we do. She made a face. I have rented uhauls before and usually they start up the uhaul and bring it to me, warm and ready to go. I had to go in the gate and get my own dolly and the trucks were so close together that the side mirrors were almost touching. Why would they expect me to move the truck from a situation like that. It is almost an accident waiting to happen. There was more but I will leave it at that.
Make sure to tell customer dolly is not in truck and make sure customer gets help putting it in Uhaul!
