First I find it very hypocritical and disrespectful that they are telling their customers to wear masks when none of their staffs wears them ever.
My issues started right away when I went to open the unit and they put it under my fathers name instead of mine, even though I told them multiple times the unit was for me. This caused problems with charging for the unit which resulted in my having to pay late fees. They had me buy one of their locks for the unit, then a couple months later denied me access to my unit until I bought another kind of lock from them. Saying that it’s part of their policy but there was nothing like that in the contract.
Now I’m finally closing the unit and decide to rent a 10” truck for my move to Florida.
They wouldn’t “hold a reservation” for us saying it was “first come, first serve”, which makes the point of a reservation pointless. When we arrived a day early for fear that they wouldn’t have a truck for us, we found their lot was filled with 10’ trucks, so I don’t know why they couldn’t reassure us that they had a truck for us.
As we were checking out the storage room, the attendant closed out the account which subsequently locked us out of the storage room, when we had already informed him that we were about to clear it out. They said just go unlock the room and the alarm will sound for a little bit. Great security right there.
The staff here is unfriendly, unprofessional and unhelpful. We had to go find the truck ourselves! The truck they gave us WAS. NOT. CLEAN. But neither were the other ones that day. We found all kinds of debris, and even a used mask left inside the truck. The driver side windshield wiper is broken and scratching the window. The passenger front headlight is obviously loose and is almost like a strobe while driving.
As we are half way through the move, driving through Texas, the oil gauge starts to drop and the truck wouldn’t shift into gears correctly without making a popping sound. It was also at this time the brake felt a little wobbly too.
Why call for a reservation when they aren’t going to inspect the vehicle for a long distance drive?!? They were told over the phone where the vehicle was heading. The least they could’ve done was make sure it was operational.
This location is the absolute worst and no one should ever store their belongings here or rent any vehicles from them.
