It was horrible. This is why we left. No one is ever available on site, and y’all took over a place that was a good price and increased it. It wasn’t safe, it was inconvenient, and even checking out has been a hassle.
KAITLIN PATNODE | Overall ExperienceHello U-Haul, A few notes and suggestions. -This survey is nice way to receive feedback - you should ask it to current users, instead of when people close their account. I imagine you'd have a higher response rate. -Regarding the survey, you should re-consider the questions you have asked, or at least add a "n/a" option. I left a couple questions blank as they are not applicable. -This particular storage unit was supposed to be "climate controlled". I have picture documentation of that not being the case. -U-Haul, in general, has had very poor communication. For example, there was a time when the keypad code for entering was changed (new one added; old one taken off-line but still existed) but there was no communication at all about this. I had called Customer Support about this and it turns out the new one was added and the old one "had a plastic bag over it" to denote it was no longer in use - but the plastic bag had blown off. -The location of the current keypad is unideal as you are unable to reach it from your car as it is too close to the gate. -The gate opens VERY, VERY slowly. You should implement the "text to open" system. "10 Federal Storage" had this feature before U-Haul took over. -In my short time having this unit, the monthly price increased on three separate occasions, yet the services, amenities, features, etc. remained sub-par. -It's difficult to recommend this U-Haul unit to anyone for all of the above reasons.

MICHELLE LOVE | Overall ExperienceI missed a payment and had a lock put on my storage unit. After making up the payment, I went by to move my things out. The lock had not been removed several days after the payment had been made, and I was unable to move out my things before the next month's payment was due. I feel this was intentionally done and caused me to lose out on more money. I emailed the uhaul service account and received no help.
Caleb Hicks | Overall ExperienceWhen I did everything online, it was great. I submitted the contract, completed the online move in and received all my unit information. Even set up the auto payments. My move in date was 8/29, but our move was delayed so we had planned to move in on the 30th. When I was checking for the unit number, the UHaul app no longer had the information. When I called I was told there was no storage unit in my name and it was suggested maybe when they did the check and there was no lock on the unit, we were moved out. That was so nerve racking because we had just moved and driven 12 hours with all of our belongings. It was incredibly stressful. They were really nice and able to put the same unit back in our name. It worked out but I still feel worried about it. Other than that, everything was nice and I’m happy with it.
tara kimberl | First ImpressionsWhile my belongings were safe during my two year hiatus, access to them upon my return was troubling to say the least. In 2021, I removed the green tab and found a provided COMBINATION LOCK inside my unit. I returned home yesterday to retrieve them for moving day and contacted the office for the combination, because I couldn't remember it. I was provided with "5380 is the combination Mr Hopkins". While on the phone with storage staff, I let them know that this combo did not work. I was then told that the lock was not theirs and I have to contact a third party locksmith. After disputing the origin of the lock, I was then given the runaround. I was then told that I was provided with a key lock originally. I refuted this claim, asking, "why was I being provided a four digit combination for a key lock?". Staff states, "you have a good point, but there's nothing we can do for you". Upset after debating over who should have to pay for the locksmith for access, I asked for the managers name to contact. I was denied the information with the statement, "we already talked to management and there isn't anything that we can do for you, we can't reimburse locksmith fees.". I continued to attempt to contact you all for the managers name to which the phone stopped being answered. I feel completely wronged after abiding by my contract for two years, then being lied to and denied simple contact information. I paid the locksmith $135 and don't feel as though I am responsible because of staffs agreement with my point, but refusal to accept being held accountable. I would love to have a conversation with management about this matter. My number is 9194234038.
Devin Hopkins | Overall ExperienceI have face problem while I was went pick my luggage. My code was not working and then finally I know some one checked out to me in system. I was trying to connect uhal customer care and store but not able to connect then finally I drive 10 miles and reach to their location and then they reassigned the same store room. And finally I was able to take my stuff from store room.
