What is a POL fitting?

–Mike 12/4/2019 6:10:19 AM

Hey, Mike! POL fittings have reverse inner threads. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 12/10/2019 7:08:04 AM

I plan to order several 60-lb tanks and have them sent to my propane dealer in Downeast Maine. I asked the dealer if the POL valve was the correct set up for residential use and the message he returned through his clerk was that "the only requirement he had was that it must have a yellow cap". Do you understand what he is talking about? Also who manufacturers your 60-lb tank and what kind of rust-resistant finish does it have?

–wendy murphy 10/3/2019 7:45:14 AM

Hello, Wendy! This is for vapor service and only have a POL multi-valve. The cylinder is manufactured in the U.S. by Worthington. The tank has a rust-inhibiting Durabond powder paint coating. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 10/3/2019 8:12:17 AM

How many gallons of propane can I carry in my van

–Tim 1/19/2019 9:58:18 AM

This particular tank holds 60 lbs. of propane (15 gallons). DOT cylinders with a propane capacity over 45 lbs. cannot be transported in an enclosed vehicle. The law would prohibit you from transporting a 60 lb. cylinder in your van. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 1/23/2019 8:26:44 AM

–Libby 5/29/2018 4:34:09 PM

Hi, Libby! The 60-pound steel propane tank has a capacity of about 14.2 gallons. Please note that the tank does not come with propane but will need to be taken to a U-Haul Propane Center nearest you to be filled with propane. I hope that is helpful!

Hi could u tell me weight of a full 100lb tank and also a full 60lb tank. Thank you

–Anthony 11/10/2017 11:36:14 PM

Hello, Anthony! Since the TW (tare weight) is different on all cylinders, we cannot tell the exact weight of a full cylinder. A 100 pound propane cylinder will hold 100 pounds of propane plus the tare weight. A 60 pound propane cylinder will hold 60 pounds of propane plus the tare weight. I hope that is helpful!

Hey William, it's hard for me to say without seeing your food truck, but I know that the TK60 propane tank has worked in other food trucks.

That being said, always make sure to check your local food truck laws and safety regulations so that you know you are both legal and safe before transporting a propane tank in your food truck!

–Joseph 8/25/2015 9:23:45 AM

Do the 60 lbs. tanks have an OPD valve. I need a tank without one.

Can i use the 60lb upright steel propane tank to run my house kitchen stove

–hannah 2/7/2014 1:35:46 PM

–Ronald 2/7/2014 2:12:52 PM

Are the 60# tanks vacuum purged as delivered?

–Bert 11/8/2013 3:34:57 PM

All propane tanks U-Haul sells with an OPD (Overfill Protection Device) valve are pre-purged. This means we do not have to extract any air from the propane tank to fill it with propane. This includes OPD425, OPD11, OPDGAG (20 lb tank), OPD 30 and OPD 40. All propane tanks that do not have an OPD valve must be purged before filling. This includes TK435, TK60, TK100, and TK33(forklift tank). U-Haul charges $4.95 to purge a new tank.
