Are forearm lifting straps and appliance dolls for rent or just sale?

–Daniel Holderfield 12/28/2017 6:46:44 PM

Hey, Daniel! The Forearm Forklift Moving Straps are for purchase only. However, we have multiple dollies that are available for rent or purchase, including the furniture dolly, the Utility Dolly and the Appliance Truck. You can purchase a dolly online or visit your local U-Haul Center to rent one. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 12/29/2017 8:59:45 AM

Can this help move a large dresser and full sized mattresses up three flights of stairs? I am 5'2 and my husband is 5'11 and I am afraid of the imbalance of weight and height affecting the upward climbing and would like something that equalizes things.

–gaye 7/7/2016 11:33:50 AM

Hey Gaye, the Forearm Forklift Moving Straps should work for moving your dresser and mattresses, but please watch our video on How to properly use the U-Haul Forearm Forklift to insure that you and your husband use the straps as safely as possible. Thanks for your question!

Can these be used to move a 500lb hot tub? 80 by 80 by 34"? Could I use more than one set so we could have 4 people helping? Thanks.

–Kathy 1/15/2015 4:37:10 PM

Based on the size you note, I do not think there will be enough strap left to use this strap properly. Also, because I do not know the shape of the bottom of the tub, I can only suggest you do not use this product to move it. Sorry. Thanks.

–Ronald 1/16/2015 8:31:25 AM

Is it possible to rent these for the day of the move? If so, how much would it be? I think it would be good to have two sets. I won't need them any more after that day. Thanks.

–Andrea 9/30/2014 7:14:06 PM

Sorry. This product is not for rent. Thank you.

–Ronald 10/1/2014 8:30:30 AM

How do the straps work for carrying items up the loading ramp into the truck?

–nancy 8/16/2014 6:39:11 AM

"They work great! There are three arm loops to choose from so the person on each end can put their arms in whichever loop is most comfortable for the height difference of going up the ramp. "

–Ronald 8/18/2014 2:44:51 PM

Do we need an extension to carry a king-size mattress and going upstairs at the end of the move?

–nancy 8/16/2014 6:37:38 AM

"The extension strap is not necessary to move a king-size bed, but it will likely make it easier."

–Ronald 8/19/2014 2:44:20 PM

"The extension strap is not necessary to move a king-size bed, but it will likely make it easier."

–Ronald 8/19/2014 2:45:13 PM

Will this work on moving an armoire up a flight of stairs?

–Laurie 7/26/2014 4:54:03 PM

Depending on the size of the furniture, and if used properly, this should work. Yes.

–Ronald 7/28/2014 8:24:17 AM

What about moving very heavy eggshell shaped bbq? Will need to be moving it up and down stairs too.

–Jennie 7/21/2014 1:47:23 PM

Our moving supplies program manager writes: "Depending on how heavy the bbq is, take a look at the ShoulderDolly and Qwik Lift products as well as the Forearm Forklift. Hopefully one of these 3 items will be able to accommodate your needs."

–Ronald 7/23/2014 8:57:03 AM

Will it work for a 72 x 30 couch?

–Dave 5/26/2014 8:28:04 AM

I calculate there will not be enough strap coming out from each end of the couch to use as designed. I do think however, if you used the strap extensions, you would be good to go. http://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Protective-stuff/Forearm-Forklift-Extension-Strap?id=11142

–Ronald 5/27/2014 8:58:32 AM

How well does it work with carrying a dresser up a flight of stairs?

–jason 4/8/2014 10:48:01 PM

I checked with the manufacturer of this product. Their response is as follows: "Would work well carrying a dresser up a flight of stairs. The straps contain inserts for different size items that allow you to adjust the straps to carry a dresser up stairs."

–Ronald 4/24/2014 11:53:27 AM

does it only work on things that are squared? What about things like treadmills?

–River 2/9/2014 1:47:04 PM

Would work fine on a treadmill. The straps cross underneath the item you're lifting to "lock it in". The item you're moving does not have to be squared.

–Stephen 2/11/2014 6:21:17 AM

How does it work going down steps?

–Lutz Bacher 11/12/2013 1:27:43 PM

The weight of the load is on your forearms, allowing your legs to move freely up and down steps. For items like mattresses, it's really quite easy.
