The entire experience was excellent: pickup was fast, the van was quite new, clean, and in great shape; the return was fast and friendly. I can't think of a thing that could have been better aside from the weather, and you probably don't have much control over that. ;-)

Staff were great and accommodating
I waited 45 minutes in the store to get a vehicle I reserved online because there was only one staff member to help anyone - and that staff member was not helpful. She barely greeted me, made it seem like it was an inconvenience to her that I was there, gave me keys to a vehicle that was blocked in and couldn't be moved, and then rolled her eyes at me and told me she was dealing with "other stuff" when I complained that she needed to give me something to drive so I can leave and get going. The truck was terrible. Old, dirty, unsafe. The truck was all over the road and clearly needed new tires. The snow was not cleaned off the top and the inside was filthy and smelled like smoke. And to top it all off, after putting the appropriate amount of gas back into the truck before returning, I was charged incorrectly for an extra 5 gallons of gas. I will never use this location again, and will be far more skeptical about using Uhaul in the future.
I get stock for like hours but other than that everything was ok perfect thank U

Except for the woman I spoke with for the 3rd time this morning nobody else knew what customer service was. Nobody offered to bring the dolly to the van to show me where it was. Nobody explained to me where I had to be when going online to return the van since it was after hours, I was home and unable to complete the process. Spoke to a rep that night who said to call back in the morning. Called in the morning and rep said she would put in the request for credit for after hours charge. Said email would be best for contact as I work in a call center and can't answer my phone. Received a call from Justin who was incredibly rude and condescending (have a vm as proof) stating there were signs all over the store and equipment and since I couldn't read he wasn't going to remove the $20 charge. There were no signs anywhere stating that. When I called on lunch and spoke with Anna, who was very pleasant, she apologized and immediately refunded the charge. Last night the girl (last name Simpson) took a picture of the front and back of my license with her cell phone and made me provide my insurance policy number and tried adding on other fees and services that I had not requested. I did the order online. They also claimed they didn't have the type of dolly I requested when I put in my order that showed there was one available. Now I rented a van from the Camillus location a month ago and didn't have to do any of this and I explained that to the girl who gave me a snippy response saying I must have had your insurance which I did not and she continued to argue with me saying I was wrong. I wasn't and can prove it. I'm very unhappy that she took a picture of both sides of my license on her cell phone. To me that's not safe on my part. I only used this location as it was the only one still open and this was a last minute favor for a friend that needed to move immediately due to an emergency with her family. I won't ever use this location again on canal street.
I was charged to fill the tank of the truck when it was given to me at 1/8 of a tank and we returned it at 1/4 of a tank yet I was charged an additional $54.00 for fuel and fueling services. I will never rent a truck from UHaul EVER AGAIN! Manager at Canal Street location NEVER answered the phone or called me back!

I will not ever use this location again. The van was filthy. I get that it's winter, but that doesn't stop the vans from being washed inside and out. The customer service reps were rude and lacked basic soft skills. I was not greeted upon entering the location at anytime. I was not thanked for my rental. Asking the person that â€œhelpedâ€ me to repeat or any questions at all, gave the impression that I was a bother. Overall, both people that were there seemed as if they would rather not be there. They didn't even say have a nice day. I even had to go find them when I first got there and when I returned. There was no line all the times I was there. I even greeted the woman that was â€œhelping meâ€ and she couldn't be bothered to look at me or return my greeting. Again, I'll never use this location again.
It would be good to have additional people at the counter to check people in.
I had tried to respond to an email by sending another email only to have it returned to me as non-deliverable. It also resulted in U-HAUL thinking I hadn't responded... Being so busy with the moving and other related issues and having VERY limited time for texting and emails, I wasn't even aware of the situation until a couple days later...
I picked up a trailer on Saturday afternoon around 12:30 Pm The lady at the counter was clearly having a bad day. I overheard her say that someone quit. But the whole ordeal was very unorganized. After finally getting the paperwork set she told me she would be out in just a few mins to help. After about ten mins she came out but not to assist me but to fill propane tanks for people. I found the trailer myself which once I did it was stuck behind another trailer . after another 10-15 min wait, I was told to take a different trailer. I'm a Service center manager for Ford and I have to say that this was one of the worst interactions with a company to date.
The building is old. There is only one elevator and it is difficult to operate. If you are short and the gate is too high to reach, you can't operate the lift. If there was apple with a hook, it would help. There is a long wait time for the elevator, since there is only one.The signage on the outside of the building is confusing. I will not use this facility in the future, nor will I recommend it to anyone else.
Uncertain. I have been a repeat customer. But this time the customer representative tried to charge me 45 dollars for gas. She stated that the tank was 15/16 full when we reviewed the truck. The truck o ly had half a tank when I received it.
Customer service person was a little short w/me when I asked why I had to give her some information that I had put into the website already. I entered all my credit card info but still had to swipe my card. Why ask on website if you have to do it again? I was just asking legitimate question.
Customer service was great, but Uhaul's check in process overall was horrible. The mobile check in did not work and then created issues when we had to check-in in person. Horrible experience, but not the location or people's fault, Uhauls overall process.
Staff attempted to overcharge me for gas, when they had faulty records of the vehicles fuel level at rental. I anticipated this from previous experience, and showed proof that they had it wrong.

I had to walk to far end of lot to get truck. I had rented from another location on Erie Blvd West earlier and they pulled the truck up to the door, warmed it up and removed the snow.
We had rented a truck for a move on a very tight schedule. Once on the road we had mechanical difficulty requiring us to wait for UHAUL roadside assistance. As it turned out one of the problems we were having were caused by incorrect equipment installed on the vehicle. 2 hours later we were able to get back on the road very behind schedule. Upon returning to the store we explained the huge problem the faulty vehicle had caused. The ASSISTANT MANAGER CHRIS DROGO completely dismissed us repeatedly stating, 'it was only 2 hours'. I assume this is not a reflection of all UHAUL stores, there are many options across the Syracuse area, I strongly recommend avoiding the UHAUL on Teal Ave.
The person who helped me out in the Teall Ave. office when I picked up the truck was very pleasant & informative.
Has nothing to do with location but when I try to reserve online it sends me to a location on Genesee street instead of Canal street
