Location was fine But got Stuck with a 40 $ gas bill because No way to prove Gas amount ? Both locations were Great and people helpful but its BULLSHIT to go from 119 $ to 200$ Never Again

I was given one location for drop off when I picked up the truck. When I took the truck to the pre-arranged drop-off location, the UHAUL website instructed me to take the truck to Don's Rentals. This was fine, but it was about 7 miles away from the pre-arranged location. All-in-all because of UHAUL's reservation changes, I was about 10 miles over my allotted 30 miles of usage for the day. These changes will likely cost me an additional $5.00. I would like the mileage usage to be comp'd on my reservation. On my original reservation, I would have only used about 27 miles.

My Husband called and asked if we could drop off early and they told us there was a fee for that because they weren’t listed as the original drop off place on the print out paperwork. (There was none listed on the print out paperwork) I called them back and said they were on my online reservation and we wanted to drop off early and no, I was not willing to pay an extra fee. When we got there the female employee told us that they had too many trucks coming in - an overload of them - but since we were one of the ones on the original log they would go ahead and check us in without a fee to which I said “yeah you are.” The woman told me my husband had been speaking to a co-worker of hers the first time as if that was an explanation? I get weary of companies charging fees that aren’t really part of u haul. That’s what this felt like. I shouldn’t have to use my “stern mom voice” so that I don’t get overcharged for turning in a truck early.

Wash the interior windshield, it was dirty enough that we couldn't see when driving towards the sun.... So we had to clean it ourselves. The cab had a set dog odor that needed to be addressed. Normally I do not do surveys but this truck was really dirty, so this comment is necessary. Finally, we returned it at 5\16 of a tank, just as it was when leaving the lot. The location tried to charge us $9 saying it was short two gallons. We took photos before and after and even with our photos, they said we still owed $9. I had to then walk a different service agent out to the truck lot to show them where 5\16 of a tank was. This took an extra 15 minutes and was a ridiculous "back and forth" argument until the representative finally realized what 5\16 was. (Just between 1\4 and 3\8). I will never rent from this location again.

The cargo van did not have working taillights the night we used it. However, the lights did come on when we returned it. No effort was made by the rental place to adjust our rental fee. Instead, we were given the lame excuse that we have to turn the lights from "auto" to "on" which is ridiculous because when headlights come on, the taillights should come on as well.

As a stranger to these parts, making a new life in the town of St. Helens, Oregon, I make a point to utilize the local businesses and this is my fourth experience with Don‘s where they have been efficient, friendly, and professional. When my U-Haul searches do not show an exact match of truck or trailer, rather than try a different location, I adjust my needs to match the availability at my preferred location. Having worked small businesses myself, I wonder if the employees would enjoy local radio as a background distraction, it can be challenging to find a station everyone likes, but the customers are often less concerned about the content than people imagine. Try Country music, Howard Stern, Christian Broadcasting, OPB- iwhatever works.

Asked for a trailer to go from Saint Helens to Portland. Was given a 77 plus billed when I returned. The trailer. Very disappointed. Don’t think I’ll ever use I haul again. Word of mouth will be my weapon of choice.

I reserved the truck that I needed for the job and application. I was allowed to see the truck and assured that the truck would be ready when we needed it. I came to pick up the truck, and was told that the reservation that I had made was overridden by UHaul and I would have to take a 26 foot truck. The truck was too large for the area we needed to go, so we were forced to take a 15 foot truck instead of the 20 foot we needed (at the same price I might add). We were able to make it work, but the local dealer was made to look bad, because corporate took action that did not allow them to make good on my reservation. This is not the first time this has happened to us with Uhaul.

This location is better than the others in the area. I have never had an issue until this most recent rental. Truck condition - The interior was dirty, both the cab and the compartment. There were food crumbs/whatnot in the cab. There was damage in several locations, but in particular there had been some damage to the driver's side door that prevented it from being shut without slamming it. Service - I returned the vehicle by dropping off after hours. I refueled the vehicle at the gas station next to the location and parked it. I added approximately 2 gallons of gas to cover the 27 miles I used the truck. According to your website and other sources online - this truck averages 12-14 MPG and according to the paperwork I received, it recommended refueling 1.5 gals. I was surprised to see my email receipt the next day showed a refuel charge for 3 gallons added to my charges. When I called to ask why - they told me that it was low and would not discuss it. They said that it had already been sent out with another customer and there was no way to verify it. The employee then told me that they would have their supervisor call me back in half an hour. I still have not received a call a day later. The bottom line - they did not read the gauge correctly. If I put in 2 gallons and they put in 3 gallons, then it took 5 gallons to drive 27 miles. That is 5.4 miles per gallon! If this is the mileage this vehicle is getting, then it is in need of a major tune up. Even if I used the 3 gallons they said I used, I should have been able to get 36 miles (3x12mpg). I did not waste time idling, nor was I performing any outrageous behavior with the vehicle. More than half of the mileage was just getting to and from the uhaul location on the highway with an empty truck. Again - I have never had issues at this location before, and it has become my first choice in the area because of open hours and up until this point, the great customer service I have had. I hope that this particular experience is just an exception.
