Leave enough space in between vehicles when parking them. It makes it easier to drive them out of the parking bay. The truck I picked up from Chelsea wasn't moving smoothly and it was making too much noise unlike the truck I had previously picked up from the Uhaul in East Harlem.

I had an amazing experience. Rederved a truck but wanted a van . Got there in morning and asked for a van and got one... easy checkin and drop-off. Made the move very easy.

I waited more than 2 hours to get my 10 foot truck and it never came (apparently due to an issue with elevators). I had to take a smaller van which could not fit my king size mattress. I was heavily delayed and incurred fees with the movers I had hired to help. I had made an advance reservation and was expecting to have access to my van at the time I booked it for. The manager was also not available on the phone even though I was given his business card by the staff.

I moved here from out of state. I have rented multiple times from the Park Slope location in Brooklyn and driven between there and the UES in Manhattan with absolutely no difficulty. The Brooklyn Staff were welcoming and friendly. This is the first time I rented a moving van from Chelsea. The staff was rude, threatened to overcharge me for 2 days when I was only 3 hours overtime of 24 hour (a result of unfortunate events, including extreme snow conditions), and was overwhelmingly dismissal of my unexpectedly stressful moving day. Next time I'll just pay the extra miles to drive through to Brooklyn.

The truck was driven under 30 miles, and you were shown a receipt for 2 gallons of gas. WHY WAS I CHARGED OVER 8 EIGHT DOLLARS FOR GAS?

My 1st issue is when I first picked the truck up, the display alerted me that I needed air. I didn't think much of it until i filled up on gas & air, only to need air again within the hour. Then I realized I rented the truck with a screw in the tire. My 2nd issue was that I requested to pick up the truck from 23rd St but return it in Brooklyn & I was told it couldn't be done because Uhaul needs all their trucks back. When I went 2 days over my one day rental, I called & made a 2nd request to return the truck in Brooklyn & was told by a rep again that I couldn't & if I did, the rental would increase double in price. I was also told if I would've requested that type of rental initially, i could have done it. Lastly, explaining to the staff that I didn't want the card that I put the truck on hold to be charged for the entire rental was a nightmare.

Made a reservation for a van two days in advance. On the pickup day the clerk was very helpful. He explained the rental process, emphasised the fuel and mileage procedure, and handed me the keys. Very quick and smooth transation. When returning the van we just drove through vehicle returns and an an employee did a quick walkaround, checked the milage, fuel level and then told us how much we owed. We recived a recipet by email a few minutes later. The easiest rental process I've ever experinced. I strongly recommend this location.

Had to look for a gas station right away because the truck had less than a quarter of a tank. Not a great way to get started especially in Manhattan where finding a gas station isn’t easy

Everything was great. The people was unfriendly, fast, ready to help and help me get the right truck for what I wanted to move. Suggested that I get the 15inch truck the one with the ramp and a dallie.

This truck came with a lock for the rear and a key for the lock and I think it was natural for me to assume that a lock should come with every truck and be functional. It wasn't until I left with the truck and finished loading it that the lock did not work. I didn't have time to deal with this at that point but it made the rest of our moving experience much more difficult. It should be clearly noted that the trucks do not come with functional locks for the rear door. I believe anyone would assume that a rental truck should lock on all sides without the customer having to buy extra supplies. Customers should not have to learn this the hard way. The people at U-Haul were also not willing to take responsibility or make any adjustments to the final rental invoice.

If equipment is reserved, then it should actually be there on pickup. A dolly was reserved but none were available on pickup.

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. NOTHING ELSE TO SAY BUT HORRRRRIBLE. from the staff to the reservation process to the van to the the return. Even these emails. I want to slit my wrists after renting from you.

I made my dropoff time at 11pm on the uhaul website three days before I picked up my truck. I was then informed at my pickup time at 5pm on the day that I was moving that the store closes at 8:30pm and that I needed to return it before then or have to wait the next day cutting off 2 and a half hours of my time. Did the website stop me from choosing an invalid dropoff time? No. Was I sent an email that my dropoff time was invalid in the three days prior to pickup? No. Was I given any sort of compensation for this insane level of negligence on the part of this nationwide multi million dollar company? No. And the cherry on top was that this was in manhattan where finding a place to store that truck over night is like looking for a needle in a haystack, not to mention its surely one your most popular locations, yet the website wasnt updated. The level of service is absolutely pathetic, and the mouth breather of an employee I had to talk to didnt even offer an apology, and had the nerve to act like I should have known better, telling me that "they are too busy to send an email" and that the website covers "thousands of locations" so you cant expect them to be up to date. Truly an absolute disgrace.

Agents did not explain the Drop Off Policy in greater detail. More information would have created more customer satisfaction. I wanted to drop off the vehicle at a different location with a $199 extra charge. Had I been better informed of the policy, it would have affected my pick of the Drop Off Location.

Lesa at check-in was so friendly and helpful. The bottom of the right side mirror was cracked and it distorted the reflection. It was difficult to see out of that side which made driving very dangerous. My passenger had to stick her head out to tell me what was going on in traffic on the right side. This is unacceptable. This wasn’t a cosmetic problem, it is a safety issue, especially driving in the crowded streets of NYC. I would have brought the truck back but I was pressed for time. I also think that the gas gauge was off. There is no way that I needed 2 gallons of gas to go the nine miles that the odometer read. (From Chelsea to Soho and back.) We did not idle the truck while loading and unloading.
