We had been on the phone with a U-Haul rep and they had asked us if we would be returning the dolly to the same location. We said no we would not be, and they never indicated that the price would be any different. On the website where we booked it, putting in a drop off location was optional, and had no indication that the price would be higher. When we picked up the dolly we were told that it would be close to $600. We had no choice but to rent it, since we were leaving that day. That was upsetting to us. Also, we had rented some magnet tail lights, and we were not told that they would be at the concord location, and so we could not pick them up. I called to cancel, and they never called me back after I left messages. So we also paid $29 that did not get refunded

Was not informed that I had to return the vehicle by the same time two days later just that I had till Monday to return it so I was charged for another day.

I rented a 10 ft truck, 1 week before I needed it. I was moving 1 bedroom from Londonderry NH to Rochester NH. You have a "convenient" location in Londonderry 5 minutes from the apartment. 1 day prior to the move I get an email stating that it was not available at that location and that I would need to pick it up 15 miles in the next town (Manchester). This is no longer "Convenient". I was told that they didn't have a truck to pick up there. Why would you confirm a rental in a location that you don't have a truck? Why couldn't you send it to the place I needed? I"m disappointed...I'll make sure to tell people that the location is never guaranteed.

This place is a mess! I went there to pick up my U-Haul and th guy instructed me that I had until 8 ok to drop it off. My boyfriend and I arrived at 7:40pm to see everyone packed up and the store lights off (they close at 8). We asked them if they wanted to check us in, or have us put the keys in the drop off box. They told us to drop the keys and they’ll check it in, in the morning. Next day I get my receipt to see these morons charged me for 2 days opposed the one (only rented for one day). When I talked to customer service, they said it happened because it got checked in the next day (lie, because if that was the case what the hell is the purpose of the drop off box). Nonetheless I now have to wait 3-5 business days for my 40 dollar refund. Moneys tight after a move, so taking that kind of hit when you don’t expect it, is extremely inconvenient. But the moody customer service rep didn’t seem to care! Places sucks!

I had tried to rent at two different locations in Goffstown (the town I live in). The reservation appeared to go through, however I was called after each occasion to be told I could not rent what I wanted from these locations. I asked for flexibility - perhaps U-Haul getting a vehicle to one of the nearby locations, or at least being able to drop off locally - transportation was a significant challenge for me, yet there was no willingness even to attempt to meet me half way. The agents were not at all friendly. After calling the corporate office to complain, they gave me the number for "traffic". My call was not answered twice and I was hung up on twice without being able to speak to a live person. All of this caused me to nearly triple my anticipated local miles (20) and to have to rent an extra day due to not being able to get a ride back from drop off until Sunday. Lastly, when I dropped off, I waited for ten minutes to be checked in. When nobody came, I went inside, waited in line, only to be told to go back outside. The counter agent got somebody to meet me, who was clearly irritated at having to check me in. All in all, I think the customer service sucked.

I returned the truck after hours and found the process to be very easy and thorough. I did not interact with any personnel. I find it very cool that you can return and even rent a truck after hours! Great!

We were 40 minutes late in returning the truck. I didn't have any issue being charged an additional day although I believe that U-Haul should have a policy that charges hourly for unforeseen delays. The next rental was for 1 P.M. and we had returned the truck in plenty of time for the next customer. My main issue concerns fuel levels. The lot attendant informed me that the gas was not exactly at the level it was at the time of the rental. I believe that it was. I had taken cell phone images of the gas gauge both at the time that the rental occurred and when we returned it. The fuel levels were exactly the same. I was informed we would incur a $7 surcharge. I contacted customer service and initiated a CAF 19454999. My second issue concerns Furniture pads. In spite of the fact that we were 40 minutes late in the return of the rental, I was also informed that we would be charged an additional day for rental of the furniture pads. Mind you, the pads were returned and folded. I don't necessarily agree with being charged an additional day for pads that we had already clearly returned and would not be using. It is this type of nickel-and-dime surcharging that will make us think twice about using U-Haul for our moving needs. We will also tell everyone we know about this negative experience. I had hoped to speak to the manager at the Manchester NH location specifically. When I called there to do so, the employee I spoke with was not even sure who the manager on duty was. Nonetheless in addition, I will dispute these charges with my credit card company to allow the maximum delay of payment to U-Haul. At no time did any employee of U-Haul go over the operational or safety features of the vehicle nor was I ever informed that being a mere 40 minutes late would result in being charged an entire day rental, plus Furniture pads.

My issue wasn't with the equipment, but with customer service. My first reservation was cancelled and I was never contacted beyond the initial phone call. Because of this, I wasn't able to move in on time because there wasn't any availability in all of Southern NH. When I called customer service about this, I was on the line for an hour and a half while they tried to figure out the reservation guarantee (which I have still not received. Overall, not a great experience.

I rented a truck online two weeks in advance and received a call two days prior that my online reservation was cancelled and that there was no other trucks available in any surrounding areas. I had a two day reservation and then had to go and bargain with the guy to be told that I had to move through the night if I wanted a truck and that the truck needed to be back by 9 am - not a good customer experience

The whole experience with uhaul was a disaster. Assistant manager of this store was a nice reasonable individual but coupled with my struggles with wiring I will likely never visit uhaul again
