Definitely would not recommend the U-haul on Pass rd in Gulfport MS to anyone EVER! The place is a dump and after setting in line for over an hour the guy outside in the truck inspection area told me I needed to go inside to check in the truck, and after going inside to check in the truck the lady tell me I needed to check in the truck with the gentleman outside! So after another 20 min or so after she waited on every last person inside the store she came outside to check in me and 2 other people that had been waiting over an hour! They had 4 people on the clock and only 2 of them helping customers! There was no reason for all of us setting outside in that line for over an hour in 100 dagree temp! On top of the 6 miles to the gallon on gas that truck got on the interstate that’s ridiculous! I didn’t reserve a 26 foot I reserved a 20 foot but that’s what they had when I got there! I know 3 customers that will go to Budget or Enterprises to rent a truck next time!

They charged us a extra day and gas. I have receipts from the gas station less than a mile from the drop off 07/01/2018 Withdrawal #193666 / SHELL Service S GULFPORT MS %% Card 15 #0563 -$39.08 @ 1.49 Return Date 7/02/2018. Was returned a day early, full tank and cleaner than received. This drop off location is ran by theives. Do not use the 1132 Pass Rd. Gulfport, MS. 39501

The trailer had three old tires and one new one. It didn’t pull well

Young female (chubby) at the desk was rude and unhelpful at pick up. If I had not driven 3.5 hours to get trailer I would have left. Also, when I made the reservation it said I would be contacted the day before to verify location and equipment or I would receive $50 of reservation. She laughed at that and said I have never heard of it and asked for proof. Next time I will take a screen shot. I personally would not want her representing my organization.



The van we rented had a broken gas gauge and the van was rented to us less than the amount of gas we weee told. Professionalism is poor and the associates who “helped” us doing return were eating on the desk while another one is watching her catfish program. We mentioned the gas tank issue and they were both oblivious and I doubt that they will fix the problem. My wife is going to write a review on yelp and google to inform consumers about the issue.

When I called to book the agent couldn’t tell me what time I could pickup. I needed to pickup at 7am. The agent also asked me several questions that made no sense for my situation after I had already explained that we were just moving one item that we had sold. The agent said she “had to” ask me those questions even though she already knew the answer to them. I later received a text saying I was reserved for 12pm. So I had to go to the location to cancel that reservation and try to make another one. The agent did not explain what vehicles were available. It turned out a cargo van was available at the time I needed but that took a lot of questions from me to figure out. When we arrived to pickup the vehicle at 7am it took 45 minutes to get the cargo van due to the long checking process that for some reason required calling 3 phone numbers to verify they work. When asked why they needed to call a 3rd number and wake up our friend at 7:30 am on Saturday after already verifying mine and my wife’s number the agent said that is what they always have to do. After the long and dramatic check in process we finally got the van at 7:45. The van was perfect and we used it and returned it an hour later. The pricing per mile is a bit excessive and the $10 insurance where it says your existing insurance and credit card won’t cover it even though both say they will. So a van that is advertised to cost $19.95 plus mileage ends up costing over $50 for a quick one hour rental to move one item. Based on this experience I will go out of my way not to use U Haul in the future.

Just to clarify my answer to the personnel question. The first person who actually checked us in was as good as gold. (She was the younger of two female employees). We had to wait a few minutes for my wife but as we were pulling out, the older female came running out to flag us down to tell us that we owed $12 more because we went over our allotted mileage. I was livid because I felt like the only reason we could have possibly gone over on mileage is having to go an extra 10-15 miles out of our way each way to and from our house to load after picking up the truck out at the remote location your company sent us to. So, the U-Haul experience that began poorly ended just as bad
