Richard at Golden Classics was so very kind....very easy to deal with. The process took more time than I'd expected since I'd pre-checked in on the website, but I think it was mainly because his computer was slow.

Location great, but this is a dirty locally owned packaged food mart with personnel who know nothing about truck/equipment rental.

4pm station was closed. Note on window. Tried to verify return via internet - no luck. Internet (via phone app) not user friendly. Ended up calling U Haul to get a customer rep to verify drop off. Perhaps they had an emergency - I don't know. But there has to be a better way to verify drop off when station is closed, for whatever reasons.

Owner was late and paid more attention to his text messages than he did to us trying to get paper work done so we could get started with our move. Also was charged $14 for safe move without being asked if we wanted it

The trailer leaked badly on the drivers side. Many of the items being transported had to left out in the sun for drying.

The location worked fine, but the map from the Uhaul site was misleading. Actual location is on the other side of the bridge and opposite side of road than the map indicated.

Equipment and paper work wasn't ready when I arrived at the appointed time. Called before picking up equipment and asked before leaving with equipment and additional charges for one way trip not disclosed. Returning equipment to pickup location not convenient.

It was not clear that there were 2 locations and we wasted time trying to figure out who could help us at which location and how we were to go about actually renting the U-Haul. We ordered an appliance dolly online and were told that they did not have one. The gentleman did mention that we could go to a different U-Haul to get one. I don't understand why there was no system set in place to let us know if there was going to be a dolly or not at the site of our pick-up. Our U-Haul caught on fire and broke down on the highway. I'm sure this does not happen often, but this put myself and our property in danger. I don't understand how a vehicle doesn't undergo routine inspection to ensure that it doesn't explode while driving it at 55 mph. The fire put us behind schedule. Going to pick up another U-Haul also took a considerable amount of time, approximately an hour once we had arrived at the pick-up site. The new U-Haul we received had a faulty battery that we continually had to jump start. We spent hours stranded because of the dead battery and had to have a friend pick us up because the U-Haul wouldn't start. Overall, I don't understand this experience. I don't understand how a business that provides rental vehicles cannot provide a basic service of the actual vehicles functioning properly. Both of our vehicles had serious malfunctions, the first putting our lives at risk. A move that should have taken 3 hours took 18, we didn't get completely unpacked until 3:00 am and I had to leave for work 3.5 hours after that at 6:30 am. Like I said this is probably an isolated incident, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it is completely ridiculous. I am a pretty easy going guy, and usually a customer who is easy to please. All of these events during this rental experience probably warrant some type of legal action, but all I care about is that I finally got all of my stuff moved into my apartment. If I still end up being charged for this rental I will be not happy to say the least. I am giving you the opportunity to not lose a life long customer, but I guess that's up to how you all handle this situation.
