I arrived at your Grand River and 9 Mile location Sunday morning shortly after 9 a.m. Since I pre-registered online (including giving my Visa number). I expected to be serviced something similar to Hertz's Gold Canopy Service where after pre-registering, you can go right up to your vehicle without hassles. Instead I was at the end of the line of 9 or 10 people. There were two U-Haul service Representatives attending to customers, until one of them walked away? The amount of time that I saved with pre-registration was negligible. When I finally reached the rep she was nice enough, but I was a little perturbed (internally) As a suggestion maybe U-Haul should follow Hertz's business model...

No complaints. Everything worked as hoped and expected. I love the fact that on the paperwork it shows you how many gallons of gas to add to get it back to the level I picked it up. Very nice!

You should sell the quiet hitch stabilizers at your location. Get some kind of deal with these people and sell them in your stores. You can only get them online and by time the consumer realizes they need one its too late. Riding with a 4X8 attachment and renting it for 11 days we were going out of our minds with the noise.

I want to file a formal complaint about my recent U-Haul experience. I rented a U-Haul vehicle yesterday (07/11) evening from Grand River Farmington hills, Michigan location and to my surprise the interior floor of the vehicle was oily and greasy. Myself and a friend almost slipped down while moving my furniture. As it was already past 8pm EST that we started our move, I was not able to reach out to U-Haul customer service to ask for a replacement. I seriously couldn’t understand how on one hand Uhaul says, ‘Customer safety is your first priority’ and also charge $25 to your customers if the truck is not cleaned up and on the other hand give us a truck which is such an oily mess. I had to put my rugs on the truck floor to avoid any slips while moving my furniture. I would really like to hear an explanation from U-Haul on the condition of the vehicle provided to me.

It took 40 minutes to drop off a trailer when I had no extra charges or owed anything. The trailer was parked where they asked within 5 minutes, but due to the poor software of the company, my contract could not be found and it took 35 minutes before I left without a receipt for the drop-off.

The starting mileage was wrong and the after-hours return in the app and website did not work and was extremely long and frustrating. Uploading images kept freezing the site causing me to have to start over. Staff was friendly.

The auto transport I received was old and not like the newer ones. I told the person that hooked me up that this trailer was different than what I usually get and I did not believe it will work with my car. “Oh no”, she reassured me, “the computer would have told me if it wouldn’t work.” Sure enough when I loaded my car I could not open the door because it hit the fender even when it was folded down. This meant I had to crawl through the hatch to get out. Not very comfortable for a 52 year old. Needless to say I was not happy at all. In the future if I can not be assured I will get a newer trailer I will no longer rent from uhaul.

Not lie about how much gas is in the tank. I’m sure you think it’s my fault for not looking at the gauge when the paperwork said 7/8 full and was it was actually a hair over 3/4 full, but for the employee to willingly acknowledge that there is no way I could have traveled 6.6 miles in one hour and use 4.1 gallons of gas. That makes it 1.6 miles to the gallon! Not even the worst tuned v8 pickup truck, pulling a fulled load gets that bad gas mileage! Here’s the thing, he said there’s nothing he could do about it once it’s recorded in the computer and made me pay for the mileage or get more gas. A win-win for uhaul! This makes me think this is policy and uhaul as a whole is suffering to pull trick like this. - Very Upset

It takes a very long time to get waited on. I waited 45 minutes to get to the agent. There was no air in the building and it was 90 degrees outside. There were employees walking around in there. But not opening up another window to help customers inline. Very frustrating!

The online system charged me for a full day which is what I thought I was reserving. My reservation was for only 6 hours. Very poor indeed! If someone is being charged for a full day then the reservation should be for a full day!!!

It was a ninety plus degree day. The A/C unit didn't work at all in this truck. That is the only negative I have. Easy checkout, easy check in. clean equipment, great location, great staff.

I did not receive my two furniture Dolly’s. I called and went to the store to tell them, they did not have any in stock. The girl at the counter put a note in my account. When I returned my vehicle I reminded the gentleman and he still charged me for them. He was very difficult to deal with so I paid for them even though I did not receive them.
