The drop off was easy but the man I met at the drop off only asked about Otter Tail and if they were doing the annual tube racing. I said I didn’t know of such a thing and all he said was Oh and never said another word after. I felt uncomfortable at best.

Apparantely walking around the car to look for damages with a representative is no longer practiced during pick up and drop off, possibly due to the pandemic. Everything is done by your phone and posting pictures. The pictures on the link of the condition of the vehicle was old and did not represent the actual condition of the vehicle. Taking your own pictures I suppose is new and should be explained verbally that a link would be sent. Upon drop off nobody came out to the car. The keys were simply dropped off, no email or hard copy receipt given to us until the next day. This left us to worry that something could potentially happen to the vehicle while it sat in the parking lot overnight since we didn’t get the receipt until the next day. Called five times that day of drop off for a receipt so we can confirm the vehicle was checked in properly but kept getting the call center. The general manager was notified who never bothered to close the transaction or call us. We had to go in the next day at 0730 to get it checked back in and get the receipt. Communication overall was very poor.

I tried twice, on-line, to decline the furniture dolly rental but it wasn’t until I arrived in Fargo to pick up the trailer that the rental was still reflected on my reservation. However the location representative was able to remove it from my reservation. Nevertheless, upon returning home to Grand Forks AFB I found they had not included the two dozen blanket pads I had ordered, and that the Inside of the trailer had not been cleaned out. I called the Fargo location regarding the blanket pads and asked if the Grand Forks location might have them, since I had no desire to drive another 150 miles round trip just to get them, and they told me they didn’t. As such they did tell me they would credit my account for not giving me the blanket pads. However when I arrived in Vermont and returned the trailer I was asked where the blanket pads were since their rental still appeared on my contract. This was my first unpleasant rental experience with u-haul, and I hope my last.

It appeared that there was only one person working on the day I picked up my rental trailer. She had to process orders and then go outside to help customers hook up trailers, which left no one at the customer service desks. In spite of her double-duty she was very friendly and courteous. There may have been one other person on duty but it appeared she was busy in the warehouse/drive-in loading area. This resulted in a 45 minute wait from the time of my appointment until I was able to leave with my rental trailer. This was on a Friday afternoon. I had made an online reservation which told me I had cut my wait time in half. Oops! If you have any staff laid off due to the Coronavirus situation, it appears that it would be prudent for you to call your laid off people back to work. Or else hire some of the people in the area that have lost their jobs.

We had the vehicle for 1 hr and 8 minutes and drove it 8 miles in total but we were charged an additional $7 for 2 gallons of gas, which in Fargo that day would have cost less than $3 at $1.49/gallon even if we had used that much fuel. How could we have used 2 gallons of gas going such a short distance? That's very difficult to believe. Also, your policy of requiring the payment of the rental to be made by a credit card is ridiculous. I can understand needing a major credit card on file to use in case of some issue however that should not require someone to be forced to use credit so long as nothing went wrong. Take the card number and put it on file, have me sign something authorizing its use in the event something happens with my debit card that doesn't cover damage... why is it necessary to charge a credit card? Other car rental companies allow debit card use as I described, why not you? I have car insurance that covers rentals, why do you need a credit card at all? I paid the extra $10 for the damage insurance, why require a credit card if someone is willing to pay for the extra coverage?

Make sure the trailer ramp is easy to unlatch instead of unlatching one side and shaking the ramp to pull the pin out on the other side.

I arranged to rent a trailer one week ahead of time. 24 hours before the pick up time I called to make sure the trailer would be ready at the designated time and was assured it was. I drove 4 hours, arrived exactly on time, and the equipment I arranged to rent was not available. I was simply informed someone else was renting the equipment that day. Poor business practices and I can not recommend this dealer or Uhaul and would strongly suggest to anyone in the market you look elsewhere.

We were required todo online check in and it didn’t work, it took us thirty minutes we only drove ten miles and truck died. We had movers who we ended up having to pay an extra hour as we had to wait for the truck to get fixed.

You charged me an additional $20 after I dropped it off . I was told that I had until 3:30 the afternoon to get it to the drop off location which I got it there by 2:30 which was an hour earlier than needed but the e-mail that was sent to me after everything was done said that I was charged and extra $20. When I returned the trailer, I did not receive a receipt. Get a receipt!!. Had to go up to UHaul on Mon. I returned the trailer on Fri. I was charged an additional #63.19 out of Columbia, MO. Fargo did email another receipt showing that I owe nothing. The equipment number on contract did not match the equipment number on the trailer. I have pictures to prove it!! Take pictures when u rent any equipment.
