My experience with U-Haul was incredibly frustrating from start to finish. I arranged my pickup and drop-off locations over the phone, with the plan being to pick up in Essex and drop off in Malden. This would have saved me a significant amount of mileage, but the pickup location was changed on me, causing unnecessary confusion and extra driving. The owner at pick up also did not speak English, which made communication extremely difficult when I was trying to figure out where I was actually supposed to pick up the truck. I ended up in Essex trying to sort everything out and was nearly an hour late picking up the U-Haul because of the confusion. The biggest issue, though, was the cost. About $240 came out of my account initially, and then another $215 was charged at drop-off, apparently for fuel, extra mileage, and the late return. I understand that additional mileage, fuel, and late fees can add to the cost, but nearly $560 for just a day and a half of U-Haul use is absolutely ridiculous. Had the pick up and drop off been set to my initial locations both pick up and drop-off could have saved me $ , What should have been a straightforward rental turned into a stressful, confusing, and extremely expensive experience. Between the location changes, communication difficulties, wasted time, and unexpected additional charges, I was very disappointed. I would have appreciated clear communication, accurate pickup information, and a much more transparent breakdown of the charges. I would think twice before using this location again. only positive thing was the customer rep lady sending me link to do the drop-off

Cómo funcionan los comentarios de U-HaulThe pick-up took a little longer due to the previous person not checking it in correctly but everything was great other than that.
Joshua DThe location was not good. Unfortunately there was a language barrier between the man who worked at the shop and us, so we could not communicate. His iPad did not connect to the internet, so he could not get us checked in and we had to call U-Haul to check us in. We also requested a furniture dolly and paid for it, but did not receive it. The service at this location made it very hard to upload any photos.
william gMy contract stated a cargo van for 99.00 per day with the $15 Safe Move coverage adding $15 a day. I paid for a Dolly rental for $7.00 per day. 'This rental included 100 miles with a charge of .49 cents a mile over that. I attempted to pick up the van at 9:30 am, my reservation time, but the person who previously rented the vehicle had not returned it as of 10:00 am. The location said I could take the small truck at the same price. The dolly was not provided and I returned the vehicle prior to 2:30 pm the same day having only driven 71 miles with more gas in the tank than when I picked it up. I later received an invoice for two days of rental, was charged $1.49 a mile for gas and charged for two days of a dolly that wasn't provided. I was out of the country for na couple, of weeks but just stopped off at the rental location to show them my original contract and what they billed me but the person didn't speak English and asked that I return to speak with the "owner".
