When we first rented a 10x10, it was only $55 monthly. In just two months they started charging us $75 monthly(auto draft). I called and informed them they had drafted $75 instead of $55, but was told they went up on the price. I explained the agreement was $55, not $75, but was told, “Well, that’s just what they do.” The lady at the Wedgefield office is a nice person but she only works there. The roll up door has never stayed open. We have to prop it open with a broom handle. I’ve made several calls and emails to this company but no one has ever returned my calls. (You have to leave a message). We have now found another storage place to keep our stuff in. Just a few days ago they drafted another monthly payment of $75 and today we finished clearing out of their storage unit and they wouldn’t even credit us for unused days of storage. We would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Sharon J | Overall ExperienceHorrible experience. I reserved online went by on a Friday on my way Out of town. Was in a hurry when I was signing the papers the last gave me my driver's license back and I said alright have a nice day with her and i both forgetting about the payment. No problem, that's understandable. I was on my way out of town like I said and just a few minutes after I left she called and informed me but as I said on way out of town and running behind so I apologized and asked if they would be open the weekend or I had to wait to Monday. After repeatedly asking me to stop somewhere like Walmart and buy a prepaid card with the money on it to give to her before 5pm (after 4pm already) she said Monday is fine but make sure it got paid. No problem. Before we hung up I asked her specifically would I have access to the unit over the weekend or would I have to wait till payment was made. She stated that I had already been put in system and my code for the gate would allow access. Saturday evening I went out to the unit D2 the one that was supposedly mine. It's got a big pad lock on it. That's funny I swear she told me I would have access?. Tried to call the number she was texting me from the day before when she was trying to get me to buy a prepaid card and send it to her because I didn't have time to turn around and got no response. Googled the phone number to the actual storage facility tried a few times no answer. I figured they weren't open weekends so no big deal there. Sunday I received an email from tristar storage noting that I had incurred a late payment fee for not making monthly payment on time. Excuse me? That can't be right. I'll call them when they open tomorrow and ask about this late fee and inform her my unit is locked. Monday comes and first right after the opening hour she called me to ask if I was coming by to make payment. I told her it would be after work and informed her about the lock on the unit. She said it's her lock. I reminded her she told me I would be able to access the unit so she walks out to the unit and it's not her lock apparently it's already been rented out. So she recommends I use unit d4. Alright no problem see you this after noon. 2 minutes if that, my phones ringing she's calling to let me know that over the weekend she rented out d4 but I can use one on the next building over unit C2.(I called several times over weekend for office phone and what I assume is her personal number she was texting from to ask about the lock no answer at all) Ok cool thanks for the information see you later today. Hang up and same thing happens again. Phone rings I answer, hey sorry you can't use that one either it's rented. B2 try that one. By that time I'm wondering, " do these people even keep track of who rents what unit or even which ones are currently unavailable and which units are empty? I'm just not sure I want to keep my stuff in a unit that may have been or may still be in future rented to someone else. I just don't feel safe doing that honestly. Even after all the hassle about which unit I would be using and thinking I had access to a unit that was already occupied and secured. She still expected me to pay the full price from the day it was reserved (at that time it had been a week I believe. Still yet to have access to a unit.) And pay the late fees and such because the day I came signed paperwork she put it in the system as paid cash in full. I quit answering calls I never moved out because I never moved in. This place is ridiculous. Paula was the woman's name I was dealing with.
