  • One of the two helpers arrived 30-minutes late. Items were not loaded into the truck efficiently. Unfortunately, one of my items was destroyed due to poor loading. I had a Mitzi glass desk shell that was loaded on its side. This orientation lead to the desk shattering. The item was wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap as required by the moving company. The moving company provided info that further supports my claim of the negligence of the loaders. Instead of loading the item upright, they loaded it on its side. Packing Glass Panes Cover glass panes with thin foam packing sheets to protect them from scratches when transporting them. Small panes of glass are typically transported in a cardboard sandwich, offering some protection against breaking. They are also best transported upright, which may limit your transport options. However, be sure to brace the glass. It won't be very safe if it topples over or is thrown around the back of a van.

    We do everything in our power to assure customer satisfaction. Unfortunately we cannot control every facet of every thing on every client's move. We notify clients ahead of time regarding how and why items should be packaged in a specific way and do so again the day of the service, in person if we notice any problems or issues. Client is complaining about a glass desk that was loaded vertically, as is the industry standard when transporting glass and is upset that the desk became broken, which is understandable as we are also upset. No one wants to see items become damaged - not us, not the client, and not MovingHelp. That said, when we inform clients of how and why to safely move items and are then instructed to move items to the contrary - in an unsafe fashion, due to limitations of time or funds on the client's end, we cannot also be expected to assume liability for damages after advising and warning the client of the potential dangers and being instructed to proceed anyway.
