My first reservation for a 26ft truck on August 12th at 9005 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove CA was a disaster. My son arrived to pick up the truck and they didn't have it and there were no more available in the area. I had to postpone my move for a week. I would never recommend that location to anyone!!!!

Kudos to U-Haul's hiring practices - the entire staff provides great customer service. One small improvement would be to add more parking for customers' personal vehicles if possible.

While processing my request, as I went to pick up my keys and truck, the attending asked that I retrieve my phone. I gave him my phone number (which was in the Uhaul system) but he proceeded to ask that I bring my phone out so he can call it to verify that the number I gave was indeed mines. I felt insulted, humiliated and belittled. I have rented from U-Haul and other companies many times, and never has anyone asked me to pull out my phone so they can verify it belongs to me. I hope the U-Haul company holds itself to higher standards and does not tolerate this type of discrimination.

I had originally told the people at 2850 N. California that I wanted to drop off my rental at this location, but later received a text telling me to drop it off at 3900 Franklin Blvd, Suite A, in Sacramento. I took it there at 1:33 PM, but this "strip-mall" location had a sign on the door stating they would return at 2:00PM. I had an appointment at 2:00 PM in Rancho Cordova so I could not wait around for them to get back to their store. I then drove over to the 65th Street location and dropped the truck off there. The attendant told me I needed to drop it off at the Franklin Blvd location. I told him no way as I did not have the time and handed him the truck keys. I then see I was charged for the extra 4 miles I put on the truck running around because of U-Haul's incompetent dealer location. I'll be filing a complaint about that.

I was able to drop off my truck after 5, but I was charged for a half day. Since I didn't have the truck for a full 24 hours, I was able to get the charge reversed. Thank you! I'll be back.

When I made my reservations I was told that someone would call me back within 2 hours and tell me where to pick up the truck I requested. No one called . After 3 hours I called back and was told to contact reservations line directly. I did and was told that the truck I reserved wan not available for the next 5 days let alone the days I requested. We wasted half a day for a truck that we would not get. We had to make alternate arrangements. It would be nice to know when you reserve something that you will get it, not have to wait half a day to find out that none is available.

I was overcharged. I sent two emails and got no response. I was charged for an ectra day in error. That was verifoed with the actual location. You have now caused me to get an overdraft charge.

No improvements needed, just a better bigger and convenient location would be nicer to drive in or leave out since it was right next to the freeway exit. Other than that, the Uhaul representative was very helpful and tended to my needs right away with same day pick-up for a truck rental. Thank you Uhaul for your assistance.

Everything was great accept i couldnt have truck for 24 hours, and there was no way i could have gotten tge truck for my reservation. I wanted 6pm to 6pm the next day but could only have it from 6- 12 the next day

I found that the vehicles were cleaned OK. Gas was at Half tank. Truly I think the turnover is so high you just check the trucks in and check them out without much maintenance. We found numerous old plastic drink bottles in the back seating area. No biggie we threw them out. The truck ran well. got us up a steep driveway. Nice. Regards, Mark Haw

I would recommend for self check in to rent the moving van to switch steps 6 and 7 because in the van you can not read the dash to check gas gauge and milage on the vehicle without the keys.

Check in process was easy and quick. Employee was friendly and promptly addressed my concerns. He clearly explained the rental agreement. Check out after using the truck was equally efficient.

My experience with U-haul was less than ideal. My original reservation #28106711 was not available at the time and location of confirmation. Although the truck was present, I was told that they could not rent me the truck due to problems with their computer system. Because I was dropped off at this location, I was stranded. I requested the U-haul vendor to try to make arrangements for another truck at a nearby location which they said that they tried unsuccessfully. Eventually I was able to secure a ride and rent a truck from the 65th location (reservation #89380198). Later in the day I was contacted by U-haul stating that I failed to pick up my original reservation. The operator with whom I spoke was very pleasant and empathetic to my earlier frustration and said that she would note my account so that I would receive a $50 credit when I returned the truck. Unfortunately after waiting almost 45 minutes in line to return the truck, the attendant stated that he could not provide the $50 credit as had been agreed. Although he could see the notes in the file, he stated instead a manager would follow up with me before closing out the rental. No manager has contacted me to date. My credit card was charged the full amount. As a consumer, I am perplexed how a difficult situation can be attempted to be made better, only to have no follow through or consistency within the organization.
