I was driving a 10' truck from Colorado to idaho and nearly blew up the transmission because there was NO TRANSMISSION FLUID. I had to fix the truck myself as I was stranded on the side of the highway with no service in the Rocky Mountains. I will never rent from uhaul again. ( only reason I used in the first place is my truck was broken into in Colorado and unable to drive)JONATHON C.

I used the early pickup service. Log on with my cell phone- 30 minutes to get approval. 2) the lock box where my key was located, the lock was old and the code didn't work unless you tweaked the last two letters which I found out after the business open up with the help of attendant, another 30 minutes later. By the time I received my vehicle I was hour and half passed my pick up time and the equipment (blankets and dolly) wasn't in the vehicle when I arrived at my location to move my family. They were still taking money out of my account after I have been gone for two months I called to let them know about that . The employee hung up in my face then 8 minutes later she proceeded to be just another month's rent out of my account again after I told her I didn't owe her for the last two payments they just took. I kept calling trying to get a hold of a manager they wouldn't would not put a manager on the phone. I finally got ahold of . someone at corporate and said they sent the message to the manager who never called I actually got in my car and go over there myself to get ahold of he says he's put the money back on my card but so far haven't showed up I'll give it a few more days and then contact the lawyer I will never recommend or ever use you all again and I usede you all 3my whole life renting trucks I Won't Go Backlaura S. | Overall Experience

yes that was the dirtiest truck ive ever rented. i had to stop and clean it to drive it safely. i took pictures to time stamp it, nothing had been cleaned. i have cancer and am disabled. i felt because i had to reschedule twice that i got a dirty truck. i saw the manager around the truck several times before acquiring it and he is very aware of my disabilities. it felt personal i know none of his trucks go out like that. The truck I ordered had the converter stolen from it and they didn't have the same size so they gave me a bigger truck for the same price. Also gave me a $260 discount.Renee F.
1. I asked someone at your 800 # about the specifics of the moving pads. He assured me that they were quilted pads, not blankets. I was very excited to hear that. I ordered 2 dozen from you website. When I picked up the truck there were no pads inside. I asked you representative if I could get some. When he returned he had two bags of pads. I could see that it was just blankets. I asked about quilted pads. He said this is all we have. Disgruntled, I left. When I got home there were only 5 pads in each bag. So I called the Park Hill location, explained the shortage to the man, he then put me on hold for 25 minutes. Stressed to my limit I call back, twice. Both times there was someone picked up the phone and promptly hung up. So the next day I call in again. Multiple times on the phone with several poorly trained individuals. Finally I get a hold of someone who was both kind and had some common sense. She said she was sorry and would reimburse me for the the missing blankets. (I could go on for hours) 2. When I got on the highway and at 75 mph the hood blew up so I could not see. It was your benefit that I was at the time calm cool and collected. Saving my life and your truck. Pulling over to the side of the road I saw that obviously nobody bothered to attach the hood latches. Damages adverted. Again, I can go on and on. I believe that U-Haul owes me a 50% minimum refund. This place is extremely, extremely well run. The only issue I had were some very sketchy individuals hanging around the storage facility entrance. The card system was a bit more complicated to use after hours and wasn't informed that the loading dock doors would be non operational. Was informed that the lock was a zip lock only to find out that it wasn't. Luckily I was able to get ahold of the employee to correct this in time before they closed. I would suggest to have security on the premises as during move-in, there were alot of shady people around. What kind of a business calls their customers angry and freaking out over the fact that their product is being used. Poor communication skills between everyone who works there. When I rented the truck on tuesday I told her I would have it back Thursday or Friday at the earliest. All morning Wednesday the u-haul manager/ employees are calling me over and over. Leaving voicemails in my voicemail and my emergency contacts acting like I was in the wrong for having the truck. What kind of a business freaks out on the customers for using their service? What kind of business is blatantly rude to their customers. I have the voicemails to prove it. I hope you read this ASAP BEFORE YOU LOSE MORE CUSTOMERS!JACK C.

My check out process regarding my $100 refund was a nightmare. I was on the phone for 2 hours HOLDING on 3 different phone numbers because no one would transfer me to a supervisor and one representative HUNG UP ON ME after a 30+ minute hold when I requested to speak to a supervisor. It was the WORST customer service phone experience I've had with Uhaul and I've been using you since the 90's. It makes me not ever want to use y'all again if there's a chance I have to CALL customer service for support. Your hood times are ridiculous and telling your employees to NOT transfer to supervisors is sickening. When someone wants to speak to a manager THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO!!! And then the computer system was trying to charge ME an additional $44 when I returned the truck and I was on time, I OVERfilled the gas tank more than I was supposed to. I had to fight with so many of your phone reps , after finally answering after 30+ minute holds, to get my refund. LIVID!!!!THULE K.

I rented the truck for 4 days. Within the first 48 hours, after driving all night customer service was calling, texting, and emailing at 8 AM asking when the truck will be returned. They also were delegating which location it had to be returned to. When I rented the truck we were informed we could choose the locale that worked best for us. It was almost impossible to get anyone to end my storage and cancelled the unit the same day that I turned in the trailer that I rented. I called and cancelled the unit 2 weeks before it was due.Frank c. | Overall Experience
I was moving all of my personal belongings into a storage unit. The original storage unit that I ordered online was shown to me when I arrived to look at it. It was an "example space" the rep told me. Then, a few minutes later a different representative came and took me to my actual space... which was WAY, WAY, WAY smaller than the size that they had showed me before. I asked why is this space much smaller? The rep said "Oh! You weren't looking at the arrows on the floor!" Nobody told me about any arrows on the floor in the example space I did not have very much time, because I was moving the very next day, and I had limited money... As my children and I would be homeless for the next three months, so of course I could not "ask for a larger space, for more money". The result?? I had to throw out 1/3 of my furniture that I had been collecting furniture for 30 years. I had to throw out my bigger furniture in order to fit into you guys as much smaller space. I did not have time to sell my furniture, instead. You guys did the old "Bait and Switch" on me. I'm going to make sure that the better Business bureau is contacted regarding this. I also lost all of my furniture, because apparently U-Haul doesn't care that and we were in the midst of a pandemic, and me and many other people lost every job they had. There were priceless items in that storage space my children's baby items, hundreds of books that I collected over the years, and I'm 49 years old I had journals back from the time I was 17 years old that were thrown out. I was glad that U-Haul kept my items as long as you guys did. My financial situation is slowly turning around, but right now, I can't afford to pay anything except my rent, which is exorbitant. Also, you U-Haul must hire better customer service people. The few I spoke with made it clear that I was not going to get anywhere with them, so I stopped answering when I did not recognize a phone number.Vera J. | Overall Experience

The access code that was emailed to me did not work. However, I used a swipe card that I had from another unit I had at the building and it let me in. There is a sign and listed on your website that says elevators are available for use. This location has "split level" with no elevator. I was moving heavy, large items into storage like a washer and dryer and these items need an elevator to get up to the storage unit I initially rented. I had to change my rental and get charged MORE MONEY to get access to a SMALLER unit in the ground level. It just sucked cuz I was told by customer service when I booked it that the price is the same no matter how long you rent a truck for, but then was told by another agent that I’d be charged for another day since I had it over 24 hours. I get it, but I was not informed about that and the info I was given by the first rep resulted in me feeling more relaxed enough to keep it out longer.
