The truck was dirty inside. Just felt dusty and grimy. I wore gloves to drive because the steering wheel material was tearing away in bits. Back of the truck and the equipment was fine. The cabin was just not clean or presentable similar to other experiences I have had with Uhaul. Overall, good move though.

1 of the 4 bags of blankets was really damp, the other 3 were dry and fine. Also, the 1st guy helping was learning maybe? The manager came out and extra grounded the wires and it worked.
So contactless check out of a uhaul truck needs ALOT of work. You really should ask for (2) extra contacts before people are trying to pick up their truck. It was 9am on a Sunday morning and my contacts where asleep or in church. Had you asked ahead of time not only would they be expecting the call, you could call/check contacts before people are trying to rush to get something done. Additionally, the truck I was supposed to take had a flashing sign with tire pressure and a lit up dashboard. Why would your staff think its ok for someone to use that truck that clearly needs to be serviced? Furthermore, I had to then go inside and get another truck which clearly defeated the purpose of your contactless app. The woman inside who helped me was fantastic, but this all took an extra hour of time I did not have making me late for other things I had scheduled. Finally, another man was trying to do the same contact-less check out and could not get his lock box open, he had to get help from inside. Again defeating the contactless option. If you are going to continue to offer this service I would suggest you work much harder to make it a smoother process.
Tried self checkout, and after at least three different hiccups online (why oh why was there no warning a second form of ID was required? My passport? What?), accessing the key proved to be impossible for either myself or the staff. Of course, to get to this stage meant waiting in a line that took 10-15 minutes or more just to speak to someone. Then the printer broke. Staff were by turns helpful or rude, but never in a hurry to resolve any particular issue. It took over 45 minutes to just get a truck that was literally parked, prepped, and sitting not ten feet away from me the entire time. In a day filled with other logistical obstacles and challenges, why does visiting U-Haul feel like the worst part?
The equipment was not service. The tires were extremely low. I had a hard time driving over 40 miles an hour. The trailer was weaving in/out the lanes.
Extremely helpful customer service. No issues with pick up or return.
The app did not work. Felt like false advertising. I did not just show up and pick up my truck. I spent almost 30min trying to make it work, had to go inside and redo everything I had done online with a person. Very frustrating and reduced my time window for moving.
Keep on doing what you're doing. The staff was courteous and helpful.
Very rude workers, excluding the general manager who seemed friendly. But besides that the uhaul itself was good
I selected checking in via the website, but it took long with no response about how long I should expect it would take so I went inside in the end to rent the truck. This caused a delay in my trip. I suggest U-haul explain the process in advance to people know how much time to expect, and so they can start the process at home or when nearby to be more efficient with their time. Also, the truck I rented had only a quarter tank. So I was at risk of running out of gas, another delay for me. I thought trucks should be full at pickup? Thanks, David Neuman

The online reservation process was straightforward and smooth. Service at the location was seamless, despite slow system issues that the personnel were dealing with. Osman Shelenker was incredibly helpful and kind during the whole transaction.

I think its a shame that you charge people for a 2 day rental when they only use it for 1 day. In my case I returned/dropped off the trailer within 10 hours of picking it up and was charged a 2 day rental. We don't do that in OHIO, I know because I have rented from locations in OHIO many times for just 1 day. Even the guy behind me in line said the same thing. If during my rental time if has the slightest hint that I wouldn't be done using the equipment I would call the 1-800 number and ask for another day to be added at that time, and not screw people out of paying for and extra day on every rental. I would really applicate getting a refund for the second days rental that I never used, or a good explanation as to why that's not possible.

My experience was overall good. The inside staff helped me right away and got me checked in. Picking up the truck was a little confusing because the sign in the parking lot only said vehicle return, and not pickup, but an attendant waved me over and helped. Vehicle return was relatively easy. All the parking lot attendants were friendly except one who gave me the nastiest look and practically stared me down as if I was an idiot when I accidentally left a belonging in the truck. Otherwise everything was fine.
Customer service was not very good. The guy that helped with the trailer acted like he was doing me a favor. Parking with a trailer to check out is real problem on the city street.
This location is always efficient. They make sure they deal with every customer with respect and perfect customer services.
The person who I met at the counter in the morning was nice, and the guy who handed the keys over to me in the morning was lovely, very helpful and kind. The person who was waiting in the lot to accept returns refused to wear his mask and he was exceedingly rude. I had to drive the van back to the office because the man in the lot would not have a respectful conversation with me and I didn't feel comfortable with the fact that he wouldn't put a mask on. The manager got it all straight and he was very nice.
Since this is my only opportunity to review, I'm reviewing my overall experience, not just the 5th St NE location. The folks who helped me at the store were great and very understanding. That was perfect. There were two issues with the corporate service and fleet management, however. First, I got a text Friday evening telling me that my location for pickup had changed from Arlington, where I lived, to NE DC - huge inconvenience. I had already had movers scheduled, so this was going to make all of this very difficult. Then Saturday morning, 2 hours before my pickups, you called me and told me i had to pic up my truck 20-30 minutes farther away than even that first rescheduled location. This would have caused me to miss my movers completely and be unable to move. Finally the fleet manager miraculously found a truck for me, at a huge inconvenience of having to return it from a 45-mile trip (which was booked as one way). The entire experience was miserable, resulted in my 1-year old being up until 10pm because of your inability to schedule properly, and I was very unhappy with how I was treated overall.

As I wrote in my checkout notes, when I first loaded the UHaul, I discovered that the back did not close properly. This was not obvious when I picked up the truck because the truck was closed for me, but it was nearly impossible to shut. This was a huge inconvenience and made moving much more difficult. Further, when I went to pick up the truck, the extras I rented, including a hand truck, were not in the truck, although the staff told me they were. In addition, the gas level was marked incorrectly, and although staff corrected this on my paperwork and told me I was all set to leave, this was not relayed to the UHaul office and I'm now being overcharged for extra fuel costs. Overall, I felt that UHaul was inattentive, provided shoddy equipment, and is now trying to charge me for more than they should.
