I left a pair of sunglasses in the car and the people kept them instead of calling me.

Be honest. The uhaul store that I rented your truck tried to over charge me for fuel. I drove less than eight mile and put 1gallon of gas but one of the staff told me to put 2.5 gallon more. Very dishonest. I will never recommend or go back to that store. They wasted my time.

Representatives closed return gate in our face. Poor direction, unclear instructions. Disappointing.

I recommend this U-haul shop not only for my friends, but everyone, whenever I rent any vehicle with them comes in excellent condition and the service is great.

Better signage for where to return truck. Very deceptive that the actual store has a sign over a garage that says "U-Hauls" but this is not where to bring them.

Friendly and helpful staff. This was the first time I've every rented from UHaul and would definately recommend this DC location.

I did the quick check in and filled in all my info on the app. But I don’t think that cut down my check in time at all. When I went to pick up the uhaul I still waited in a line for 15 minutes to check in. So I’m not sure what the benefits are for filling in my info beforehand. Maybe you should make that more clear on the app.

Compared to other U-Haul locations I've been at, this one was very clean and well-run.

It was not clear where to park the truck. After hours, many trucks are returned and park all over the neighboring streets. There was no map showing best places to leave the vehicle, that would be LEGAL.

Key box broken. No customer support.

The location is a bit confusing. Wayfinding signs need to be improved. The rental return portion of the site is needs to be more clearly defined.

My Reservation was moved twice. I originally reserved a truck and trailer in Alexandria, VA. I was told I needed to go to the Capitol St. U haul in Washington DC. When I got there, they told me my reservation was across the city on 5th st NE. When I got there the equipment was ready, but at 1.09/mile even though over the phone with a Uhaul representative.. I was quoted at $0.80 a mile!!!! What is the point of reserving equipment if the location, time, and price are not guaranteed? After this experience what possible reason was given for me to return with my business?? Look up my account. I rent this equipment 3-4 times a month. After this awful day.. why would I ever rent here again?????

I rent regularly from PA and am always satisfied with clean equipment. This 5x8 trailer was dirty and looked like it had been used for hauling something oily or greasy such as old engine or parts as floor was not very clean up front. Additionally the roll down door inside was very crusty dirty which fell on our contents. Was this trailer in a flood? Not the usual Haul experience, and priced higher than the one I took to DC ten weeks earlier. I also was surprised that this office required hook up prior to quoting rental prices, not a usual thing. This unit needed steam cleaning.

Put a dividing line in the loading dock to make it clear where two trucks can get in and out easily.

Thanks for the seamless drop off

(1) The location was understaffed, so there was quite a wait at the counter to check in. (2) I think the truck we rented may need transmission service. It seemed to go into low gear at very strange and inappropriate times.

Rented 10’ truck for short distance move. Inside of truck smelled terrible and opening the door didn’t help. Smelled like Decomp. Bodies and I thought someone had been cleaning crime scenes or something. Was moving mattresses etc. and they picked up the smell. The store shouldn’t rent something that smells this bad.

Make sure the mirrors are able to be adjusted properly before leaving the lot.

Let the customer know in advance somehow that the equipment return is a couple of stores away from the check-in. Also, take the recycled boxes at the equipment return so the customer does not have to carry the boxes back to the check-in location once the equipment is returned.

Order Number: 21967140 To whom it may concern, This passed Saturday started off as a normal positive experience with Uhaul. I picked up my reserved truck swiftly and was on my way. That was until I was no more then 2 miles from your store when I realized through the side meter that for the next 30 miles I was forced to drive with an incomprehensible image plastered on the side of your truck (see image attached). I have rented your vehicles many times over many years so inspecting for something as offensive as what I had to deal would not be normal. A caricature of a slave with no explanation only caused anger and disgust in myself and unfortunately now your former customers. After speaking with your manager at the location, I really wanted to make sure I escalated this incident to corporate as this image should not be on ANY of your trucks and as a PERSON, this does a TERRIBLE job of bringing awareness to history or whatever your company was trying to accomplish. There are more accurate ways to educate the public on history and forcing one of your paying customers who happens to be a black man to drive one without warning is definitely not one of them. Something needs to change and I hope you all read this and understand my issue/anger with this unfortunate experience.
