Help them there have items (vehicles as well as tools tools & space) that are reserved in person as well as online available. Online reservation made for truck, dolly & space made-only the truck was available. I was told to go around town to find dolly. Who has time for that on moving day? A few days later, in person reservation made for truck & trailer. When it came time to pick up, we arrived to be told we had to go to a different location for truck and a third for trailer. When we arrived the two trailers on hand were not road ready/ lights did not work.DONNA D.

I have been using UHaul for over 40 years. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a Corporate owned location. The general Manager was rude, condescending and I feel was disrespectful and racially targeted me as a customer. When I provide my phone number my name and prior address popped up in your system. I told her the address on my driver's license was current and correct. She insisted she could not and very loudly Would not rent to me unless I provided her and â€œcontact personâ€ in her words â€œIn case we can not reach youâ€. I had told her I would only need the truck for maybe two hours. And that the cell phone number I gave her was the best way to reach me. I told her I have always used UHall and that I had never been asked for a personal reference or a contact person in the event she could not reach me. I went so far as to ask her if it was a new policy as I had never experienced it before. She refused to explain and began to raid her voice. I asked her not to raid her voice as I was just asking the question so that I could understand the request. I am a 63 year old home owner who was leaving my $50,000 car in the parking lot and I make in excess of $200,000 a year. She had no knowledge of that she was just upset that a black man Challenged her buy asking a simple question that she could not or would not answer. She should be either demoted, reprimanded, fired or given some type of Diversity training at best. I will take the time to use social media and my voice within the community to let people know that they will not be treated with respect as a person or customer at this location. I asked her is she was part of the ownership of the location. She stated that she was a stock holder so yes she was â€œan ownerâ€! No company owner â€œin my vastâ€ experience would treat a potential client with such disrespect. I will only use UHall if there is zero options available! If I am forced to use your company I will never step foot in that location again. Danielle Hileman is the rude, ignorant and unqualified to work in a service industry where she will have direct contact with customers!Lee H.
When I arrived there were two sales associates helping one customer that I quickly determined was just price shopping a rear hitch and had no intention of buying it. I sat waiting an additional 15 minutes and then when they took my name for my prepaid reservation , they reviewed the rental with me. The woman GM had a bowl of food/soup sitting on the count which I didn't think was very safe with the Covid-19 preventions that are required, plus that gives an unprofessional image. The GM listed everything and didn't mention the hand dolly and furniture dolly which I had reserved also. I asked about them and she stated " we haven't had them for months". Really?!? So when I made the reservation over a week prior to the pickup date, why didn't it say not in stock at that location?? The GM seemed unaware of my rental reservation and only looked at it when I was finally waited on. That was very odd as every other U-Haul location I have used in the many prior moves knew everything about my reservation and it was ready within 5 minutes of walking in. I have never had a location manager act so non caring about me as a customer and not having what I had reserved. I tried to hint that to her but she was more interested in running to get the truck and then came back in the store and said "ok there's your truck". It was left running with it only in Park - she didn't set the parking brake - an she is a GM?? Really?!? She didn't take me out to the truck and make sure I knew how to operate it - luckily I did. She said, "you should get a text with questions and pics of the truck. If ok just push the accept button - Oh so its all self service now? I checked the truck and when I lifted the rear door there were no furniture pads as I had ordered and at least she had them. So I had to go back in and ask for them - yet again poor customer service. Also, she was training a new hire which was fine but when I had a question, she had to answer it anyways - so after I was forced to wait on the customer just price shopping hitches, then you as the GM wouldn't make sure I received good customer service? The new hire still could have learned by watching her process my reservation - poor management decision. The last thing that just topped off my very poor customer experience was when I asked my the reservation was including an additional day as I told her that I would be dropping it off same day in PA. She said as she was literally running out the door to get the truck, "its an all inclusive price". I stated so I am paying for an additional day that I won't be using the truck - she gave the same scripted answer. Really?!? So I am not notified that you will not be able to supply a hand cart and furniture dolly even though you knew for months that you haven't had any (according to your statement when I asked during check in) - again Really?!? So I am a multiple time repeat loyal customer to the U-Haul brand and I am obviously upset about not having the hand cart and dolly I needed plus the rental total made no sense - Yet I was made to feel like I had no choice and was not offered any reduction on the total price. Is this how U-Haul does business now? Really?!? I prepaid $161. and the answer I received for the very poor service received was "its an all inclusive price" - not acceptable. I have been in the management of service business on a national scale for over 30 years - if I or one of my managers acted this way to a customer it would be there last day. Business must be really good for U-Haul dealers and they can afford to lose customers. Won't ever deal with this small town, low quality service center. I wonder how many other customers U-Haul has lost because of the way this 'GM' is poorly managing customers. Very poor in my opinion. I am sure Budget, Enterprise or Penske will enjoy my business moving forward...James H.
Truck was not removed for over 24 hrs after I first noted it was ready for removal from my property where it was blocking my garage, as no-one was dispatched. It took one text and two calls before the Truck was removed and then the trailer was not removed. This required yet another follow up. Help transferring between trucks due to the break would have been expected, or an offer of credit towards my rental. Instead I have to call multiple departments to have the correctly handled. The entire rental charge will be disputed with my credit card provider if a refund is not made due to how poorly the situation was handled. To top things off, i was sent an additional charge for late return of the trailer that was not removed in a timely manner and that I had no way to tow once the truck became disabled.SHANNON H.

I first reserved a 10' truck for moving a bedroom suit. When I got into the truck, I could NOT start the truck. I had my mom get in and they key would not turn for her either. I played with the key, pushing it in farther, pulling it out, jiggling it. Nothing worked. When I went back into the store, it was empty - no customer, no worker. I called and called and called. 10 minutes. No one answered the phone. I found a business card with a cell phone listed and called that number. She had the worker's cell phone # and contacted her for me. But before the call ended she told me the truck worked, I just didn't know how to start it. So by now 15 minutes have passed. The worker came back after she was called on her cell phone. I told her the truck would not start for me and I wanted a Van instead. By now it was 3:45. I was there at 3:00 for rental, but there was an older male customer in front of me that took an additional 15 minutes before I could be served. So from 3:15 until 3:45, I was still there trying to get a vehicle that I could drive. Instead of switching to a Van, the worker promptly went outside and walked to the 10' Truck that would not start for me. It took her awhile, but she got it started. She said you had to pull the key out more. By this time, I was so upset and shaking, I didn't want anything. I told her it was Bad Omen, and there was no way I was taking that truck, that I couldn't even start. I had to get something. (I saw postings in the truck to take out of tow gear--the worker should have told me how to do that.) She finally switched rentals to the Van. The van was perfect, but I was so upset and trying to calm myself down for the next hour so I could drive and take care of the move. My mother was in her car waiting for me to leave. All in all the van was perfect. Everything fit. It was a pleasure to drive. I won't drive anything bigger than that. I'm glad I didn't change the Trip Odometer - that was used for the mileage (3,300). Or they wouldn't have known how much to charge me for mileage. I pointed out to the return worker that the true mileage was much higher (65,000). She thanked me for pointing out the error.DEMETRIA D.
