We were told if we returned the van by 5pm Sunday we would not be charged for a third day even though we would be one hour into the third day by the time the van was brought back. Additionally, we returned the van with 3/4 of a tank of fuel just as it was rented to us. Yet, we were charged $9.00 for fuel for two gallons. This is ridiculous as the gauge read exactly as it did when we rented it.

I WILL NOT USE UHAUL AGAIN. My reservation was changed in the uhaul system 3 times, not by me and I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes with uhaul customer service to finally correct my reservation. Then I called the pickup location at 18275 Apache Dr, Parker, CO to confirm my reservation the reservation was correct for pickup the next morning. When I arrived at the location on that Friday morning, both managers at the location, Chris and Mike said the reservation was cancelled because it had been moved to Thursday night and I was charged a $50 cancellation fee. I WAS OUTRAGED! AGAIN...my reservation was screwed up! Chris and Mike recreated my reservation but it was at a higher price than my original reservation and that had to fixed again...and I still had an outstanding erroneous $50 cancellation fee that never should have happened in the first place. I was assured the $50 would be taken care of. When I returned the truck that evening, Mike was there and Chris was not. Mike was very helpful and gracious. He credited my bill $50 and also said that the $50 cancellation fee would be reversed. I was confused and I wanted to be clear so there was no misunderstanding...I asked Mike "am I getting both? $50 off my bill and the $50 credit from the cancelation fee that never should have happened in the first place?" he said yes, the $50 off my bill was a good will gesture because of all the hassle that I had gone thru. I thought all was good. The $50 credit of the cancellation fee never was processed and I went back to the location 6 days later to see what the issue was. Mike was not there but Chris was and remembered my situation. We reviewed what happened and Chris said that I was not getting the $50 credit for the cancelation fee (THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE) and that I should accept the $50 off my bill as the credit for the cancelation charge. So for all the hassle and extra time that I had to take out of my day to fix the reservation that uhaul screwed up, I still had to pay full price with no consideration to me and my family. Chris then accused me of trying to make Mike look incompetent (which I was not as I fully explained the entire scenario) and then accused me of "trying to shake me down for another $50" and then said "maybe uhaul is not for you"...apparently not! Chris's customer service was unprofessional and unacceptable. I highly doubt that if Chris were a customer someplace that he would accept such service or dispute resolution. I HAD been a loyal uhaul customer...until now

The website and the site workers need to be more informed and aware of their inventory. Apparently, this site has no Dollies in their inventory. Not only was I able to order a dolly rental with my UHaul rental online, but when I picked up the UHaul I also received a verbal breakdown of my payment from the site rep that included the dolly. He told me that the dolly and furniture pads were in the vehicle and ready for me to use, and that there was no need for an inspection. I trusted this information, and 35 miles away later, I found out that there was nothing in the vehicle. This made my move extremely difficult, cost me a considerable amount of time, and made my trip more costly because I was forced to pay a significantly higher price for a dolly and furniture pads at a hardware store. When I called the store, they told me they never have dollies in inventory. Interesting. I also did not receive a lock for the latch in the back. I’m not sure if that is standard, but I have a received a lock from every other UHaul rental I’ve had. I’ve had great experiences up until this point, and while the issue may have seemed small at first, it ended up costing me a considerable amount of time, money, and energy. I will not be renting from this site again.

At first, the guy helping me told me my reservation had been cancelled even though I’d spoken to him on the phone a week ago and he said it wasn’t going to be a problem. Initially he became annoyed with me because I was concerned about my reservation. It worked out, but after a long day, the last thing I needed was him to be challenging. He had to call somewhere else to make sure I could drop off the Uhaul there. Everything I did there took forever. He asked if I wanted him to check the Uhaul over while I waited, I said yes and he took at least 10 minutes including driving it around and parking it somewhere else instead of saving that for later.

Dont charge for both gas and mileage especially when the borrower must refill what is used before returning the truck. I was grateful to have the truck, but the money gouge is incredibly ridiculous and I will never use this service again.

First of all the cyber pick up stuff is not flaw free and the email with directions disappeared because I went to the wrong location. Second it’s one thing to want a dolly and moving blankets but to put them in a truck and take up space and charge for them if they are used is highway robery. Third this truck sounded like is was due for retirement
