Basic maintenance on this vehicle for a 900-mile trip was not a priority. Tire pressures we're not properly monitored, windshield gasket slowly started coming out early on and 4 hours into the drive was entirely out!

When a customer sets an appointment for a specific pickup at a specific time they should not be told it will be an hour later than the original time and also told the customer that has the item you reserved said they will bring it back later than they said and expect the other customer to be fine with that. Acting like you care about a customer would be fine as well. Returning the van was delightful. The young man was very helpful and went above and beyond his duties.

The customer service was fine. The truck itself was terrible. The truck was puttering, and fumes were coming in the truck making us sick. We had to drive with the windows open. We didn't have time to take it back because we were on time constraints. The brakes were bad which made it very scary to drive. I reported this to the agent who I turned in the keys to. (He was also the agent I worked with to pick up the truck) He confirmed the the fumes were the exhaust and apologized. What can be done to improve, is really check the vehicles out before renting them. Don't just do an inspection to see if they are clean and free from dents and dings. Drive them. A superficial inspection is not a safety inspection.

I reserved the 20' truck and trailer on-line for Sunday 9:00 am in Charleston to save time. I was contacted Saturday that the truck wasn't available there and to go to the North Charleston center. Once I got to the North Charleston center it was like starting over. The person behind the counter kept complaining about new u-haul policies and procedures to other customers who would listen. He couldn't stay on-track. It was terrible! After 20 minutes he charges me $10 more, on top of what I already paid. I finally got the truck and away I went, driving through heavy traffic. I found out the next day as I'm loaded and ready to go, the brake lights and turn signals never worked. We learned that doing a last safety check at 7:30 am. I found a nick in the umbilical cord between the truck and trailer. I was hoping that was it ....it wasn't! I called u-haul and they said to drive back to the u-haul center, knowing I didn't have brake lights or turn signals. My wife followed me close. Once I got back to North Charleston center the guy determined there was no power to the truck plug. After an hour or so he began to rewire a new plug to the truck electrical harness. Then a customer would show up and he would have to stop to take care of them. This went on from 9:00 to 11:30 am. He tried to call another center for help but no one answered. The guy was doing his best but had no support. Everyone else working there was a cleaning person. We left at 12 noon very frustrated. I missed all my appointments at my destination 6 hours away in Marion VA. It was a terrible experience!

I talked to a few employees and explained I needed to pick the truck up after 9pm when I got off from work. I was advised to go early pay and get the keys. I did that then the manager at the location told me upon bringing the truck back that he was charging me for 2 days. I had the truck back in 22hrs. He was not accommodating at all. The truck wasn't on s half tank when I got it. I got to my destination and noticed it was almost at a quarter of a tank. I had only gone 12 miles. The manager here is absolutely terrible.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Employees not knowing the system and the wait time to check in a return is awful! The manager was not customer centered and his communication skills are not up to par! Hire a whole new morning crew!

The employees do not have any drive to serve the customers. The system you all have to expect the truck is very slow and time consuming when trying to dispute how the truck looks.

I wasn’t impressed with the customer service. The employee was very rude to the manager . While picking up my truck the manager rudely disrupted our transaction between the employee and i by telling the employee someone was waiting 30 min for propane and that he needed to stop what he was doin and serve them. Instead, he say it in a nice way he was just outright rude. He later on explained to me they were short staffed. Before leaving the counter, the employee made a disrespectful comment to the manager like the was annoyed. Overall, the frustration shouldn’t have been shown to myself and 4 other customers.

Customer service was terrible when returning the truck. I got there first and some kid was sitting there next thing he was washing the truck I returned. Another guy shows up when I asked for help he sighed when I asked what do I have to do to return the truck then he starting helping someone else after fifteen minutes I asked is there anyone else that can help and replied how did you pay said on a card said I could just leave it there and they would credit my account. Not to even mention they had other people walking around on there phones who worked there aimlessly.

Please full the customer in about the rental. I rented a cargo van for $19.95 I thought end up paying 79.99 a day for the two day rental.. needless to say that I was shocked, and disappointed that the service I got and the lack to correct it...was not my fault I was missed lead
