Tough driving in unfamiliar territory. I was using an updated GPS but still had to double back twice to get to the entrance because the GPS gave inaccurate instructions. By the time I arrived, I had used up enough extra fuel that I was charged to have the tank returned to the required level.

The van I rented had the interior mats and floorboards armoralled. While it looks nice, it is dangerous. I slipped and fell in the van. Huge bruise and goose-egg on my face. Be careful!

The people were friendly, but confusion reigned supreme. When I picked up, there was only 1 person working in the store. She was inundated with rentals and quickly flustered. The tow dolly that I rented wasn't in good condition. I had to repair it. Because I had to repair it, the lady gave me a discount. I was told to return it by 7 am on Sunday, but the young lady failed to mention that the store didn't open until 9 am.

More staffing. Waited 20 minutes to pick up a reserved truck because the single attendant had to cut a lock for someone. The next morning, my receipt had 2 chargeable periods on it when it should have been one. I called to inquire and got passed to the customer service line on extended hold. I drove to the location and handled it in person.

The manager of this store is very rude and unprofessional. She came in at 9:45 wearing sweatpants and a T-Shirt and basically berated the poor desk girl about how she didn't do anything. I had to wait to pick up my truck until 9:45 because of this manager being late and my appointment was at 9:00. I rented an appliance dolly and it was not in the truck when I got to my apartment. I had to drive back and pick it up and it was a huge hassle. Would never use this location again.

When I dropped off the trailer, one of the ladies got me out of line and said that she would check me in. This was around 10:45 on Tuesday 8/08/17. They were very busy at the counter, so when she unhooked the trailer, she told me that I was good to go. The following evening, I received an email stating that my trailer had been checked in on Wednesday 08/09/17 at 7:00 PM, and I was being charged an extra $30.52 for being late. I have spoken with customer service (case # 1505272) and have called the actual store location several times, but received no answer. My original contract # is 90932028. Can someone please adjust the charges???

Very busy location - some signage outside saying step in here or park your return here would have been helpful but the person inside was efficient, friendly and helpful. The Truck was easier to drive than I thought - much easier - and it was OK through heavy rain and bumpy roads.

This review is not based solely on the elmwood location, but on our experience as a whole with Uhaul. When we order the truck, we immediately called and upgraded the truck size from 10 ft to 15 ft, cancelling our previous truck. Conversations ended with being told we would receive an email confirmation of the cancellation and the upgrade. Neither happened. The day before we receive a phone call and about the truck and the caller has no clue that we also ordered a trailer. After discussing that we also ordered a trailer, we are told we are going to have to go to a different location to pick up the trailer. The day of, we are sent to a location with a 10 ft and not 15 ft truck. My husband and I are very calm people and just explained that we actually ordered a 15 ft truck. The gentleman was very rude, telling us he believes we should be charged for not cancelling the 10ft truck because he could have gotten money from another customer to use the 10 ft truck. He cancels the 10 ft and sends us to a different location to pick up the 15 ft truck, all the while, the trailer would have to be pick up at a third location still. I tried to call the third location to ask a specific question about how to use the trailer and the number was not working. When I go to the second location to pick up the truck, the lady tells us that the third location we are told about has been shut down and is no longer in business. She was very kind and helped us get a trailer at her location, however, it took two hours before we were able to get the truck and trailer. The next day (July 29th), when we dropped off the trailer and truck at the new location in VA, the uhaul employee told us he would send a receipt. We did not receive a receipt until August 6, and the receipt stated that we kept the trailer for five extra days (which was not true) and we were charged a $110 late fee. I called immediately to have the issue resolved. A claim was made and I was told someone would call me back. Four days later and no one has called. I called again, and then received another receipt stating we had a zero balance and no refund had been issued. I emailed the GM immediately and still have not gotten a response. The email from Uhaul also mistakenly had that we dropped the trailer off August 2, when we actually dropped the trailer off July 29th. I have never in my life written a poor review on a company. This, however, is deserved.

The manager was very professional and helpful but the location was clearly under-staffed as she was the only person managing the pick ups and drop offs resulting in long waits for customer. Despite this pressure she was courteous and friendly which made the experience OK. Van was well maintained and worked well for our purpose.

Have someone there to clean the trucks no matter how many customers you have. I was also told I would also receive a 25 dollar refund for the truck not being cleaned when I received it and have not seen it yet.
