The Swannanoa location deserves 5 out of 5. They were terrific. What was not good was that when I called ahead of time, U-Haul "confirmed" that they would load my packing supplies onto the truck (which they don't ever do), and then incorrectly marked my packing supplies as having been delivered! The people at Swannanoa figured out the problem, fixed it, and I was on my way. But that could have been really bad. P.S. Thank you for take-a-box-leave-a-box.

COMMUNICATE! I was overbilled by $288. The problem was being dealt with by the manager. Five phone calls and two weeks later, I have yet to have my call returned by her. Finally I reported the claim to the UHaul corporate website, and within hours Steve, from Uhaul Corporate called and worked with me and we solved the matter within minutes. I do not have a problem with the UHaul company, but you couldn't drag me into the East Asheville store.

I might not rent from uhaul again though because i was first sent to two locations that were closed but the main office. I wasted 2 hours driving around trying to find one open

I rented a pick up truck and the bed had mud and ice in it. Realizing the weather has ben cold, hence the ice, but there was mud from the previous user. other than that, the experience was a good one. the staff was very accommodating and the time it took to walk through the door and driving away was relatively quick.

Reserving and picking up was easy. My 10-foot truck was not watertight, however. There was a serious leak in the roof, and it was heavily raining. My boxes of books that were packed near the cab due to weight got some light water damage before we noticed it and covered them inside the truck box with plastic. The truck cab was clean, but someone needs to pay attention and not rent trucks that leak. The leak had been caulked in the past, so obviously UHaul was aware of it, but just did not thoroughly evaluate the condition before renting it again. Unnecessary added stress to an already stressful time! Returning the truck took far too long. Signs say to wait with the vehicle for an attendant. I was third in line, and no one came for either of the trucks in front of me, so I finally got out and went in, where I was then about the 10th person in line. After waiting more than 10 minutes, I flagged down a UHaul employee and asked what to do. He allowed me to leave the truck in the line and go on my way. Returns should be more streamlined, or UHaul should do a better job predicting the staff needed to process them. I am a bit dissatisfied that I paid for insurance to make sure there was coverage in case the truck got damaged, and UHaul rented me an already damaged truck, which then lightly damaged some of my belongings. I would not wholeheartedly recommend UHaul to friends. I would tell them my concerns and warn them to make a careful and informed decision on their own.

Explained situation I was put in. Representative listened and looked into the truck rental situation. Location was Saturday busy and said he needed to manager to look into it later that day. I rusted him and that location as I have done business with them before. As long as the contract dated 01/14/2018 10:56 AM is the final version, I feel like U-Haul did a good job of mitigating the issues and uncertainty I experienced as a result of the service received from Nathan's Body shop and wrecker service.

I spent more time waiting in line at the facility than I did driving the truck. The one lady that was working was patient and diligent, but was shamefully alone. There were other staff on site but no one was helping her. When she had to go to the bathroom, the entire room was devoid of staff and full of customers for at least 10 minutes. The line was to the back of the room and it was freezing inside. Pretty much a completely miserable one hour wait just to pick up the truck I had pre-reserved AND checked in online. When we returned the truck 2 hour later I had to wait in line AGAIN in order to check in the truck. Unacceptable is not even the word. It will be a long time before I consider renting from Uhaul again.

The truck is pretty much brand new so it was good. But, the service at my pick up location and drop off location was pretty poor overall. The pickup location had one person working counter and was trying to help multiply people at once. This making her only partially help everyone there and then losing track of where she was with who. They did mention if I dropped the truck off at a specific location it would be discounted by $75.00. The drop off location had no knowledge of this or no knowledge of how to even help me out.......pretty poor customer service if you ask me. But hey uhaul makes a profit so what do you care.

This was not the original return location. Original location phone number didn’t work. Alternate location I called said “they can’t accept the return as they were full”. Prior location was closed. I was told I could return to ANY location.

I came in with me and my wife's business card to rent a uhaul truck at the scheduled day and time. The lady rudely refused me my reserved truck because my card has a business name on it (Drummond Services) in which I am Herlando Drummond. This would have been no big deal if she would have just said you can put a cash deposit down. Although she didn't and she acted like Oh well. I explained to her that I wasn't from here and I'm 10 hours away but she wasn't interested in hearing that. So I waited and waited and I thought to call the last uhaul place I rented from with the same card. That's when the very nice guy said just give them a cash deposit! Wow. I been here all this time and night was coming fast she could of just told me that! I rent from Uhaul all the time and this place is by far the worst experience I've had. I'm also a Uhaul moving helper.

Again, nothing to do with the location where I wound up dropping the truck off. This was the third location I had to deal with for the drop off, bringing the total to 6 locations for pick up and drop off. The scheduled drop off spot said they couldn’t accommodate the size vehicle I had and referred me to another that said the same thing. I wound up having to drive 40 minutes away with three young kids instead of the 5 minutes of the original location. All in all I wound up wasting 4+ hrs because of UHaul errors. I spent more time trying to get and return the truck than I did loading it. Not worth $1000+.
