The per mile charge has more than doubled and I will consider this next time I have to rent something. $1.39/mile is OUTRAGEOUS. I was charged a cleaning fee that I don't feel is appropriate, as I returned the van clean, and without any trash or debris, but it may have needed to be swept or blown out in the cargo area - which happens to every van that gets returned. $25 for someone to sweep a van is ridiculous. I see that UHaul has figured out how to increase profits without providing a more valuable service than they once did. I understand that some items may cost more as time goes by, but a 230% increase to the mileage charge combined with a BS cleaning fee for a van that was DIRTY on the outside and had a door that didn't open or close properly is ridiculous. What I have come to rely on as a valuable and reliable service has turned into another "American" cash grab. Way to go, UHaul.Sennet C.

I wanted a Ford van as I am familiar with that vehicle, hence making it safer and easier for me to drive. But I was told at check-in that "the computer makes the selection" of the vehicle - not me or the attendant. Please provide a way of overriding the computer's selection for the safety of your equipment and the safety of your customers.RUTH A.

Get to know the company you're working to. I asked Darren Jones at Drop Off U_HAUL 453 Rainier Ave N Renton and he said he didn't know about any credit. Then I talked to Tabitha Williams 701049 General Manager U-Haul Moving & Storage of Renton saying "Unfortunately Uhaul does not give credit for over filling of gas...." All I ask is to honor what the U-Haul company told me when I Rented the truck.MARIO F.

I made reservations for a truck asked for a one way, when I went to pick up the truck I was told that I had to bring it back because that truck was part of their fleet and they didn't have any trucks that were for one way after I had reserved the truck two weeks in advance, so not only did I have to drive back 3hrs but I had to pay for each mile that was a total of 178x the mile rate very unsatisfied about $350more or lessELISANDER S.
A very rude employee of Sunday Sep 4. He charged me an extra day of rental for no reason. When i asked for clarification on my invoice, he answered â€œget out of here, this is a difficult day, its only me here. My co-worker just quit because this is a horrible job, the owner is right now in Mexico, and the manager is also traveling somewhere elseâ€. I had to leave the place and call U-HAUL phone service to clarify the invoice and get a refund.Javier H.

We originally had scheduled a uhaul from a closer location to us, and we both took time off work so that we could move, but when we got to our original location, a uhaul wasn't there and we called a representative that found us this location. The associates at Renton were helpful, but the fact that we were not given notification that our original booking was not available wasted so much of our time AND we had to pay the extra miles that were used from Renton back to our place (which was very out of our way) costed us an extra ~$50 (20 miles @ $1.89 and 2 extra gallons of gas to refill our tank) seemed very unfair. We couldn't reschedule days to move because we had already taken time off work for this, so we felt like we didn't have a choice but comply.Fadel S.

I reserved a truck at Bellevue two days in advance, but they sent me a message to pick up a truck at Renton just the evening before I will use it the second day. I even didn't have time to change it. I cost me much more time and and money! BadJibiao S.
I got there stood for 2 minute as both employees were talking and as one was looking at me but never said can I help you. Returning the truck the next day.. no one was present at the return station, had to walk in and get someone for the return. Employees need customer service training.Kae S.
Stop making the customer do all the work scanning IDs. Allow more photographs of damage on vehicles than 1. Stop charging more than the advertised rate. Tell the customer where the vehicle is CLEARLY, don't make them search out and find it while the window is ticking down on the return time. Curt customer service rep at the desk, using "what the hell" exclamation during check out while working on the computer not appropriate. Van was very dirty - interior floor spills obviously old and gross, dash very dirty - clearly not cleaned in between rentals, exterior filthy which made it very hard to see damage, photos of van angles couldn't be zoomed in to see detail so I had to "dispute: each one and upload photos and make comments really slowing my process down for getting my move underway, top of van not visible for me to check for damage since I can't SEE the top. Terrible experience. Also, got charged twice because first truck at different location was broken and couldn't be driven - that huge charge was not reversed and now I'm having to call cust svc to work through getting that reversed. Terrible experience all around. Except during return of van on 8/21 - nice man who seemed to care about cleanliness took the van off my hands. I told him of my disatisfaction and he said... "yeah, I clean them each time but I work with a lot of young people" and then have me a look like I would probably understand (which unfortunately I see what he's talking about in your equipment).Sandra H.

I ordered 1/2 dozen of the furniture towels but upon asking for them I was told they were all out I was a little perturbed by this especially since I had to ask for them in order to be told they were out , this should've been something I was told in advance , otherwise the service was good.Jeanna T.

Tabitha Williams, UHaul Rep used her personal cell phone and scanned David Simmons' drivers license (front /back). I asked her if it was a business phone and she said no, it was her personal phone. No one should be scanning drivers licenses using their personal phone. She said there's no require, but my experience is there's always a trace record which is why she should be using a business phone to scan drirver licenses for business!!David S.

Ordered a trailer with blankets, furniture dolly and a box dolly. I was notified before paying that they were out of blankets. I then hooked up the trailer and was told they did not have any furniture Dollie's even though I just paid for one. I was told once i return the trailer I could get refunded. I return the trailer today and no manager is on site to execute the refund. Terrible service. Will go out of my way to not rent from this store again.Josh J.

I have a dispute with truck rented, I am a home stager and used the truck to take furnishings to a house. When I opened the back to load in furnishings, there was visible dirt on the floor of the truck! I do not appreciate having to clean off my furniture of dirt. On top of that, i was charged for cleaning and after hours time!!!! The truck was returned before the time allotted. I expect a refund for those 2 chrages!!!Patricia L.
They overbooked and we did not have a truck. Waited for 51 minutes while they tried to figure it out. Got another truck but had to bring it back way earlier than our original reservation. We thought it would be fine because we booked movers through UHaul, so we went ahead with it. Got our truck to our apartment, movers cancelled through a text message. UHaul should no longer recommend Grit City Movers. Our mover had a hangover from the Mariners game last nightâ€¦â€¦.so we had to move all of our stuff by ourselves and then return the truck 3 hours earlier than originally reserved. The girl at the desk was trying her best though, I think her name was Anastasia? She was lovely and it wasn't her fault. But the company really failed us.Kelsey C.
I arrived at the location just a couple of minuets after closing the star was still there. A rude women with glasses refused to help us with our return. She instructed me to take everything out of the truck and leave it on the side of the truck. When I asked her "won't this get stolen" she replied "that's how we do it". Another women said to me why am I doing this and I said " this is what the women with the glasses told me to do" So I decided to put everything back into the truck and close the door. Now I had to use you night drop app and this is where we ran into more problems. we took a picture of the miles ad instructed and the the picture was blurry and couldn't attached another more clear picture. Now the system said that "I would be charged $1000 dollars" even though we manually entered the mileage. I tried to get someone on the phone and was unable to do so. Now I had to cancel my credit card because your company charged my card more than $900 and there is now way I was over my allotted mileage. Getting in contact with someone at Uhaul is difficult. Your app is not very user friendly and making corrections is difficult. There is no way I would ever use or recommend Uhaul to anyone because of this experience.Mitchell F.

When a customer makes a reservation weeks in advance to pick up and drop off at a specific location. HONOR IT. I was called the day before I needed the truck (which was my wedding day) and told I'd have to pick up at a location more than 20mins and 10 miles further than I reserved. Which ended up costing me an extra $100 I shouldn't have had to payTravis K.
The customer service person seemed a little confused. When we went to try and do the online return ot said i had no equipment out, couldn't find my contact by the contact number, my phone number or last name. The hold time to get a on the phone with someone was over an hour in a half. I started a chat and it said a 35 minute wait and never heard from someone and now i am being charged almoat 3 times more then what it should have been. We returned the trailed by the scheduled drop off time on my contract.Kayla W.

My initial appointment was for the Banker's Auto Rebuild and Tow 405 S 7th St, Renton, WA 98057. I arrived early to pickup because it was the first time using this location and it was awful from the start. This is a self serve location and the app won't give we a code to access lock box. I had to go into chat and it took a long time to get a code. When I final received the first code there was no key in lock box then when I received the second code for the second lock box and there was no key I was directed to call the call center. When I did they wanted to call person that was suppose to be maintaining the self service local and it was at point I said I don't have time for that I've been trying to work through this for an hour and am falling behind schedule. They did rebook me with the Rainier Ave location and Melody and the gang took great care with getting me checked out quick, fast and in a courtesy hurry. Will never use Banker's location again.Michael W.

Water leaks at the front and rear of the storage unit and no heads up about the leaks so a ton of my belongings got wet, molded and ended with a significant loss. Notified manager about leak in front and brushed it off saying was from lifting the door when there was a clear hole in the front seal and the door doesn't fully close. How can my stuff be wet and moldy from lifting the door when I haven't been to the unit in months? Are the employees opening the door? I would have stored my stuff longer but doesn't seem like U-Haul cares about paying customers personal belongings and obviously doesn't need my money so taking my business elsewhere.Dustin C. | Overall Experience
