When I dropped off the trailer, the guy assisting said "go ahead and take it off". I didn't mind but was mildly shocked as the guy who put it on did all the work. I was very concerned that I didn't have to sign for anything and he just said "ok you are done" because how do I see proof that I dropped it off?

Not only did I wait almost 30-45 minutes to be helped or spoken to while many just stood around outside. I then finally got some help after getting put off and even then I felt like I was not a priority to them. We finally get to my reservation only to have the manager come out with us and didn't even know how to hook up the auto trailer correctly. It not only took about 25 minutes just for him to not figure it out. So my roommate and I ended up telling him how to do it and then he goes ahead and forgets to secure the actual trailer to the hitch so we almost drove off this Moscow location lot with an unsecured trailer. Luckily we are familiar with towing trailers so we know to always double check that it's hitched down securely but for a family that doesn't have any experience this could have been a very scary situation. After this we went in to tell the manager guy that this was highly unexceptable to not even properly secure us before departing and he just shrugged us off like nothing was wrong. This experience was terrible and glad I will never have to go back! I'm almost offended to get charged for this but will make sure to let people know to avoid this location. I will also make sure to leave a review on Yelp as well so I can caution people about this horrible experience because I have truly never had an experience with the Moscow location like I did yesterday November 1st.

No one was using mask inside the store or when they came out to hand the key and doing the inspection. They came close enough to violate personal separation distance without a mask. There are over a feet gap in plexy glasses and they keep talking through that gap without mask with customers. As a national brand, Uhaul should implement mandatory mask for its employees. Uhaul is setting bad practices during a ramping pandemic and potentially spreading the disease to its customers.

When I checked in my estimated mileage was 130 miles and I was quoted for that with the best savings, but the safe trip fee was put in and I declined that on the website. As it turned out I used the van a lot less than needed, and I asked the young lady to adjust to 89 miles. She was rude and didn't even try to understand. The way I see it is, that U-haul's service has really gone down, and your marketing strategy to try and tack on fees, items, and not to adjust mileage to the customer's benefit is all apart of a profit goal and not business sustainablity goal. U-haul owes me $13.69. I will be posting more reviews to your declining ratings.

One of your questions is “Were the personnel at the actual U-Haul place helpful?” I have to answer yes because they tried, but they didn't secure the vehicle properly, according to my experience and the good Samaritan who helped me secure the vehicle at the gas station in Lapwai Idaho. Originally I was scheduled (and planned on) dropping the Uhaul off in Orofino Idaho (my final destination). Once on the road I received a call telling me that I had to take the uhaul and trailer to Moscow Idaho. This was an 80 mile drive for me. Yes I received extra day's and miles, but I didn't use the days just the miles and it cost me an extra $34 in gas that I didn't get compensated from uhaul for. This was an issue for me since I had already completed a long trip and had to find someone that could follow me so I had a way home. Not good practice since I booked my drop off location as Orofino. Uhaul should have moved the vehicle and not required the customer to do this.

The pick up and drop off location were acceptable and helpful but I will not do the flexible drop off again. Uhaul gave just enough mileage to get from my start location to my new address then I was supposed to drop stuff off 60 miles away. That was okay I was good with that I save money and planned on two hours to drop off the equipment. The night before drop off I got a call they wanted me to drop off another 50 miles away so then it was a half a day of my time then when I got there the said I exceed my mile by fifty eight milevand were going to charge me for them. They end up waiving the extra miles but it still cost me extra time and fuel in two vehicles.

Slight issue with trailer wire hookup: Too long wire not secured well enough so fell to pavement and rubbed through the wire disabling the right turn signal. I check hookup and lights at each stop, so was able to splice the wires back together. Probably had some mad drivers behind me when my braking light indicated left turn when I was turning right.

They lied to me at the Uhaul. I wanted to return to Moscow and they told me they couldn't find the location and I would have to return to Clarkston. Then he said if there was a Uhaul in Moscow I could return there. They CHARGED ME $93 AT MOSCOW. No one told he there would be a charge when we talked about that I would not be driving all the way to Clarkston, but using Moscow. I have used Uhaul a lot in my life, but unless that 93 is returned to me, I will never use it again. We will be moving in two years again, and I will go elsewhere.

One of the frustration about reserving a truck is that I could not get an estimate about what it could cost. I had a daily rate but no taxes, mileage, "fees" I wanted to have some idea of what the total cost would be. I know you can't give a finial cost because there are so many factors but I want to have an idea. Then there was the "how much gas should I put in the tank when I'm done if I pick the truck up half full?" That was very frustrating. I was please to find out when I pick the truck up that it was filled to the top and all I had to do when I returned the truck was to fill it up. That is what all rental car companies do. Theres some feedback. When I returned the truck the young man who received the truck was GREAT! Friendly, helpful It made my UHALL experience good.

Only 1 out of the employees who helped me at this location was personable, helpful, and knowledgeable. I wish I remembered his name to give him a shout out. The other employees I interacted with at this location provided the worst customer service ever. They didn't know anything about U-Haul services and couldn't perform their duties well. They were not helpful and on a few occasions they were actually rude. The experience in general with U-Haul as a company and provider was good and necessary for my move, but the customer service from most of the employees at this location was terrible. I would not recommend this location to anyone because of the frustrating and disappointing customer service.

The truck I was given for long distance one way use was not very comfortable. I feel the truck provided to me was a very old model instead of a newer model since it wasn't returning to the location. Given the price I paid for the truck usage, I feel I might be better off with a different company in the future with a more comfortable truck.

No masks on any employees during COVID/Mandated City Of Moscow Mask Ordinance. Employee seemed surprised to hear I was there to pick up my key, and I assumed that it would be a contactless key pickup, but I still had to go inside and get my key. Also upon return doing the self-return, the option for "is this vehicle clean enough for next person?" question is fairly broad, and the $25 extra charge. The biggest problem with the cleanliness was a dirty floor of the truck, and I didn't think it was worth the $25. Being already with zero masks on all employees, I didn't want to bother going inside a second time to settle this. Truck was fine, employees were courteous enough, but these factors are enough to look elsewhere in the future, either another location of brand altogether.

Online, I reserved a 10x15 storage unit and received a confirmation notice for that specific size. The website noted that there was one 10x15 unit available and that is what I reserved (two days prior to rental). When I arrived at the UHaul facility in Moscow with a UHaul truck full of my household furnishings and after driving 300 miles that day (Boise to Moscow), the UHaul attendant informed that there were no units that size available in spite of my reservation. I asked what options existed and she told me I could either rent a 5x10 unit or go find another storage facility. I reiterated that I had a confirmation for the 10x15 unit and again asked what options existed as one 5x10 unit would not be sufficient. She repeated the same two options and offered no other solution. After letting her know that the 5x10 was 1/3 the size of a 10x15 and that it would not be large enough, I asked if there were possibly two 5x10 units available. She replied that there were but that they were not located close together. I asked if would be possible to rent both of the 5x10 units at the same price as the 10x15 since there is an inordinate price differential based on square footage. For example, the cost of a 10x15 unit is approximately $1 per square foot per month. The cost of a 5x10 unit is approximately $2 per square foot per month. She advised that she would request the modified cost for the units but that it could not be confirmed until Monday, June 15. I also said that I would need another lock, which she provided at no cost (which was very kind of her). I would like to say that she seemed hesitant about her ability to handle this situation and it was apparently hard for her to have to tell a customer that the unit that was confirmed was not available - a situation she should not have been put in by the company. Knowing that she was not responsible for UHaul's lack of integrity in honoring a confirmed reservation, I thanked her for her help. She was very pleasant but did not seem to be able to think of helpful solutions until prompted with ideas that I generated. I would like to thank her for helping me and I feel bad that she was put in that situation by her employer, but I would have also liked for the solutions to have been presented by the company making the error. Since the final rental cost will not be approved until Monday, June 15, I would also like to request that the two 5x10 units that I ended up renting be charged at the monthly rate of $1 per square foot (equivalent to the cost of the 10x15 unit) which would be approximately $100 per month, rather than the rate of the 10x15 unit, since I am only getting 100 square feet of storage space instead of 150 square feet. Please let me know if this reduced monthly rate will be honored due to the error made by UHaul. Thank you so much for your consideration of this request. I arrived at the U-haul in Moscow Idaho in the cold of winter. Contrasted by the rigors of the harsh weather and misery of moving where helpful U-haul attendants. Sure there are always those in line ahead of you with a rant about this or that, but these people are the real deal. They treated me very fair, courteous and even when I was a bit short - went the extra mile! I thought to bring them a little something to show my appreciation, but the COVID19 has got me thinking otherwise. The least I can do is leave a stellar review to showcase how nice these folks are to do business with. Thanks for a pleasant move in the worst of conditions. Moscow U-haul is #1.
