Rented a car hauler trailer , the old guy who helped hook it up was really quite and could not hear him . Was no communication or hand signals to back up . Luckily I have experience with trailers and checked everything because he cranked trailer down and pushed latch , I asked if it was on the ball and he said yes , I did not believe him and gave the trailer a push and it fell into place . Also trailer was parked really tight between wall and other trailer , could not drive out because there was another trailer in front of truck where I needed to go . I had to go move trailer by hand myself as the guy was already gone ( was a real help haha ) . Also was disappointed I could not drop trailer off in my town where there is a u haul location in my town and I am a good hour out of Edmonton . Other then that , the lady's at the desk where good and the trailer worked as it should and got the job done .Kenneth S.

I took the time to my rental online - completed my checkin ahead of time and still have wait. Either there should be a checkin center (computer) so people who haven't done it can do they are not tying up the counter people or have a separate counter for people who did take the time and make the effort.Marek K.

this survey is actually useless, if you were really interested, you would call me, i have told you 2 times how unorganized you are, your app is garbage, i do a pre check-in, with all info, and i get to the location, and i have to redo everything, long waits to get the equipment, long waits to return the equipment, staff dont really care, its a job attitude, management non reactionary takes 2-3 calls before they will do anything. as i said, call me i have rented several times in the last 4 weeks, and its not getting better.. rather than send out a useless questionnaire, pick up the phone and listen to a customer.John S.

Costumer service was none existent. I only drove from St. Albert to Red Deer and some how I drove over 300 miles based on the calculations at end trip. I was suppose to pick up truck and trailer at 10 and they where not ready tell 1045.Stephen H.

The man helping us outside had us follow him around in the rain to find our trailer. We got cold so we followed him in the jeep so we could hitch the trailer once we found it. The trailer was right next to where we first had parked so we had to drive all the way around. When we were back there was someone else waiting there so he just went and helped them without explaining anything to us. By the time we were leaving he gave me back my order papers, drenched from him leaving them on top of a box in direct rain. I was super disappointed and frustrated with the whole situation.Brooke B.

what is the point of the online check in?? please tell me, i still have to go inside the building, and wait, makes no sense. this location is total cluster, the drop off area, is jammed up, they are cleanning 4 or 5 drive truck uhauls in the drop off area, why? would there not be a cleaning area, then i wouldnt have to wait for them to finish cleaning, so i can drop off a trailer?, 1 or maybe 2 people working, i waited 40 minutes to drop off a trailer. there has to be a better way uhual, these feedback do nothing.John S.

Have someone watching the front counter so customers don't have wait for 20 minutes until the guy who helps with loading the trailer walks in to ask if you've been helped yet and you say no so he goes looking in the back to find someone for you just to check in, make more parking available for customers/have less product in the parking lot so it's easier to drive around (the customer parking was full and I was asked to drive against the one-way normal traffic flow to pick up the trailer and it was not easy to turn around/get out with the trailer), and check trailers when they're dropped off (our was full of sand and had a moving dolly still in it when I picked it up)Tyson S.

Answering calls and wait times on hold is too long until no choice but to hang up. Is answered but put on hold immediately. Working on this might get this location an Excellent every time. My experience was flawless today. I had reserved a van online. The young woman who handled my vehicle pickup was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The young man who received the vehicle upon return was equally so. All aspects of my rental exceeded my expectations. Well done team !Murray F.

I don't know if this applies to every Uhaul location, but the check in and out process needs to be evaluated and improved at this location for sure. I booked a truck for 9:30 am, arrived at the location at 9:10 where there were 5 people ahead of me in line. Even with doing the online checkin, it was 10:40 before I left the parking lot; it seemed like total chaos to get the people ahead of me in line sorted, and with everything reserved online ahead of time there's no reason it should have taken 1.5 hours to get through 5 customers! It was a huge waste of my time to wait that long to get through. Then, the truck we rented didn't have a ramp- when we asked, we were to that these trucks didn't have ramps, when the same sized truck parked next to us had one. Apparently make sure to specify you need a truck with a ramp if that's important to you- seeing that I was moving heavy furniture it definitely made it harder to move with no ramp, and literally every time I've booked the same size truck previously it's had one. Finally, the latch was really rusted and took about 10 tries to latch each time we opened or closed it. I'll probably look into budget rentals next time rather than return to this location.William L.
check in area is busy, long waits, 1 person working, rental parking area is jammed packed to the roof, 2 guys working, don't seem like they know what's happening, the poor girl at the counter was swamped to the eyes, she did the best she could and i appreciate it, the yard help seems like they are pulled in 30 directions, long waits to get product hooked up. wrong trailer given, took a couple tries to get corrected. in the end, it all worked out.john S.

The woman working the counter was incredibly rude to customers and co-workers. Upon pick up I waited in line and watched her get into verbal fights with 2 different customers, she screamed at both and they left very flustered. When returning the vehicle 5 hours later I walked in to find her in yet another argument with a different customer, screaming again, and then ANOTHER one right after that. I was honestly left in disbelief as it almost felt like a joke watching the same woman have screaming matches with 4 different customers in my two short visits. I was scammed by your manager to cover previous damage. the picture for virtual approval were covered in mu. when I walked around the van From 6 to 8 feet away it looked like a muddy streak. The manager was rude and proceeded to contact another female. I could over hear the two sides of the conversation and her manager or regional were laughing. "Too bad so sad I should have disputed it". when I asked her if she was trying to get me to pay for someone's previous damage I told her I wanted to speak to the"clown" on the other end. it degenerated form there. I will pursue what social media and other platforms including the better business bureau. It may have been me in too much of a hurry to get moving but having rented a few times from uHaul in the past, it won't happen again,it won't happen with any of my family, friends or business acquaintances. Those two young women need to get a grip on how important they aren't in the scheme of things. The service at this branch was horrible. I willdiscuss with my credit card company and the pertinent gi ernmentagencies. Shelby think she won and got someone else to pay for someone else's damages. Hope she can sleep at night. Not enough staff for the number of customers, one of them was standing around or staring at a computer. The manager took a phone call while she was serving a customer, but stopped for about 15 minutes while the caller asked many, many questions. I was sent to the green canopy to pick up my trailer but nobody was there, a truck left running with the door opened (anyone could have stolen it). The gentleman at the counter that checked me in was very nice and efficient, but everything else was bad. Very dirty trailer. I'm not the type to give bad reviews but I had to this time. I often use uhaul and there is always something that causes a delay at this location each time so this can be difficult. If they can communicate as a team as to what equipment is available or not, or where it is located, it would save us all time next time. It would also be helpful to be told before I pay with my prepaid credit card that there is an additional fee for this since this causes confusion as the person helping me wasn't aware of this either.Heather J.

When picking up I waited 10 mins and no one acknowledged me all while 2 employees helped one person ahead of me. There are shelves in between each service counter that are tall enough that you couldn't tell if they even saw me. When returning there is supposed to be a one-way path around the facility to drop stuff off. This was blocked off and I had to maneuver my truck.wotj trailer to the opposite side of the building through very tight turns, trucks and hitches of trailers. The average person who is not experienced with a trailer woild have had a difficult time and even just leaving the facility was tight due to every peice of equipment being on top of each other.... almost like a junk yard. When you say "$19.95 a day" make it for the whole day. I had to surrender the vehicle by 1330h because it was booked out for someone else at 1400h. That meant I couldn't finish my move with a second load (should have rented a bigger truck) because you didn't rent it for the day. I have had a number of extremely negative and condescending reactions from management (Nicole) at this location because I chose to NOT upload pictures my D/L on a third party software. The possibility of identity theft and fraud is concerning to me. On two different occasions I returned to the store before my rental date and time and asked to have a Store representative do this for me as I know Saturday mornings tends to be be busy On Thursday, August 19, 2021, I entered the store (the second time before rental date) between 12 pm and 3 pm, and asked the person at the counter if I can have this delay circumvented by uploading the information prior. The fellow was courteous and kind when he explained that it cannot be done.....and before I can respond to the clerk, Nicole, who was on the phone, turned around and ask what the issue was. I explained that I was not comfortable uploading my personal information on a third party application...in the event something happened. Nicole then turned her attention back to the person on the phone and in a rather loud voice she said, â€œoh, he's just looking for someone to blame!â€ I said, â€œthis is NOT a blame gameâ€. After a brief exchange, at the top of her voice, she said â€œTHIS CONVERSATION IS OVERâ€. I would welcome management to review this exchange on their onsite camera for the date and time mentioned. While I understand frustrations may build over the course of a day, there was absolutely no need to be treated by a â€œsupervisorâ€ of a service industry as less than a valued customer. It was embarrassing and humiliating. Not only will I not recommend this location of U-Haul, but U-Haul overall. I question the level of service that is allowed to be offered by upper management. If this is a first comment about Nicole, I would welcome a meeting with, Nicole, Nicole's immediate supervisor and the district manager to resolve this matter.Rikki M.

I selected the mobile pick up. When I arrived and started to check in on my phone, I was instructed to go to the counter, show my phone to a staff member, and pick up the keys. There was a long line and the staff member told me that's not how the process worked and that she had to check me in through her system. I don't understand why this was the case and I selected mobile pick up. Thankfully the office was still open, but I would not have been pleased if they were not because I would then have no way to get the keys.Nicole L.

There was one employee working when we arrived on the last Saturday of the month, it took 45 minutes to pick up our U-Haul, the app wouldn't work properly for anyone so no one could scan their license to help speed up the process. When we arrived to drop off we couldn't get the vehicle into the lot to drop off and when we finally could there was a huge line up and we spent another 45 minutes checking our vehicle in. The app wouldn't allow us to upload a picture of the mileage and fuel. You would think that because there was now 4 employees working the process would be quicker but there appeared to only be one employee checking vehicles in, one employee checking vehicles out and two that had no idea what they were doing. Clearly some kind of management needs to be happening so employees have a clear job to do and they need to ensure there are sufficient employees working on the last Saturday of the month.Sean S.
I ordered a 10' truck and when I arrived they only had a van for me saying there was no trucks available as I continued to explain the purpose of the U-Haul was intended to move bigger items that wouldn't fit in a van I was given a 15' truck that was already booked by somebody else later that day so I now had a short time frame to move my items. I booked the 10' truck a week in advance and if there wasn't any available it should've been mentioned to me while confirming my order or anytime before I arrived.Jenn G.
Very confusing drop off experience. Very busy, but the lack of service could be due to road construction adjacent to the drop off centre. Many people felt frustrated. I arrived at 8am to pick up a truck rental scheduled to start at 9am. I was the eighth person in line. There was only one rental agent working. I do not fault her, but I left with the truck only at 9:30am. This is simply too long to wait. I know your preference is for online registration, but you must have enough agents to cover rentals that come in person to register. I doubt this morning was unusually busy. You are a preferred rental company with a long history, and everything else about my rental was very good. The truck was well-maintained, the drop-off procedure was easy and efficient, the price was very fair. But if I think I'll have to wait 90 minutes in a line to pick up my rental then I may go elsewhere to rent. I'm sorry.Evan R.

I have worked with this Uhaul location in the past. Never had a problem or grievous. The young and older people are very helpful when asked with questions they can be useful with. There is a woman, a short large woman who makes not only customer's lives difficult but the employee's life as well. I believe she is a cancer to this site and to the company as a whole. I spent an hour trying to find someone to aid me when finally the yard guy, Perry, was kind enough to grab a lock for me and get me set up after hours. However this should not have been the case. 10 years as a customer. Two break-ins despite a "secure" facility. Never any meaningful response or responsibility taken. Elevator down twice in business hours. Security cameras offline for months at a time, let alone blind spots. Floor waxed in business hours prohibiting access to some areas. Elevator and parking area always dirty. Many problems over the years with card access/failure. Number of handtrucks and handcarts reduced to maybe 1, 2 or 3 out of the original 8. Facility opened fine and then continually ran downhill over the years with no money spent to maintain or upgrade. My U-haul Storage rental unit #1203 was broken into at 2:00 am. Your staff member (Nicole?) called me, and said the breakin was captured on video. Within days, she changed her story 3 separte time: 1st she can't sshow me the video due to 'privacy'. Then, the video camers weren't working. Finally, she said their ARE no cameras. This is unacceptable. I tried to close the unit rental contral in 3 separate visits to your office. 1st the staff didn't help at all (Sat. morning, young man was clerk). 2nd visit, a female staff (same one that phoned about the breakin) gave me a form to sign reliquishing my claim on any property therein, and closing the rental term by removing my credit card no. from the account (Oct 27). Finally, I kept getting emails from yyour service telling me that the rental that I had already closed was 'overdue' and you we charging me late fees on a contract that was closed. This has been a miserable experince, in which I lost thousands of dollars in property, was lied to and disrepected throughout by your staff (wyo by the way NEVER annser the phone, nor can I leave a msg), and I wasted dozens of hours trying to deal with your company on what should have never happened, if you ran a safe and secure facility. This is actually probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced, next to skip the dishes. I had some fraud on my debit card, so I needed to change the card on file. I tried called U Haul for 3 weeks straight, nobody would answer the phone. The card was declined and I was charged a late fee. I decided to cancel the storage at that point. After I moved out, I STILL couldn't get ahold of anyone. They would immediately put me on hold and sometimes even hang up on me. This location is an absolute joke. I loathe going inside because they have 1 incompetent person working the counter for a lineup of 20 customers.
