The attendant when I dropped the truck off told me to leave the keys on the driver seat when I turned it in early (May 30 at 6:30pm). The next day I got a call asking when I was planning to return the truck. Very confusing, really hope no late charges apply because someone didn't record that I turned in the truckElizabeth H.

I rented a small box truck from this location via the U-Haul website and used their mobile app to acquire said truck. I drove the truck 30 minutes north to a storage unit and spent considerable time filling the truck with heavy items only to find that the pull-down door to the back of the truck would then not shut (a metal wire that allows the back door to open and shut was nearly completely off of its normal track and wrapped around a pole near the ceiling). I had to unload the truck and drive it back to the u-haul center, wasting nearly 2 hours of my moving day in total. I was given a replacement truck at that time, but not offered any refunds + discounts. On top of that, I've since been charged for BOTH rentals - the first (defective) truck, rented online, and the second truck, which I suppose was a rental arranged in-store by an associate. We were told to return the truck on full. Only drove it 7 miles before returning it. When filling it up, it took $15 to fill up. Clearly it wasn't full when we got it. Asked to be reimbursed for the gas and was told â€œno!â€ Only had truck for 2 hours. Spent nearly as much in gas as the rental itself. Very disappointed in their initial communication and lack of customer service upon return. If we had been told to return it as we found it, we only would have put in 1-2 gallons but we were told to return it on full!SCOTT B.

I reserved a furniture dolly in addition to a 9' van and furniture pads, all one week ahead of time. During the mobile check-in process, I went to the lock box to obtain the key to the van, and I tried to unlock it for a couple minutes before a U-Haul employee ran out and handed me the key (must have forgot to put it in the box). Then, I was told they didn't have a furniture dolly. Immediately after telling me that I wasn't getting the dolly I reserved and paid for, the employee just went back inside and didn't even try to offer an appliance dolly or anything to compensate. So... we didn't have a dolly and had to carry way more things than we would have. Horrible customer service, not at all in-tune with the mobile app process.Zachary S.

This gets a 3/5 because the people at this location are very nice. I rented 2 furniture dollys, but they weren't in the van. I still got charged for them. I also asked to do the text pickup, and the lock was not in the box. I had to go inside and wait in line, which cut into my time to use the van.Taylor B.

The person checking me in complained constantly about having to leave but "was staying to help me." He couldn't find my order and the chip reader wasn't working so he had to redo my order and enter my card in manually, all while constantly complaining that he had to leave. He told me only that my storage unit was "across the street." When we got there the freight elevator into the seemingly abandoned building they call a storage facility wasn't working. No one was there to assist us. When we went back to the office for help no one cared or was willing to help. Eventually they begrudgingly helped us. After an hour of employees coming and going, haphazardly hitting one button and claiming it "should work now," we finally got it to work by holding down the sliding door. I had to pay double for the movers, who themselves had to cancel another job. Worst experience with U-Haul I've ever had. I cannot comfortably recommend this U-Haul location to anyone for any reason at all.WILLIAM M.

Great experience overall! I had a terrible experience last time I used UHaul in Columbus and this time everything was great. Only annoying thing was our truck had a dolly and bag that was not removable (if you removed it you had to pay) and was inconvenient for loading things on to the truck at times and took up some of our space. I understand this is an additional way to make money for customers that decide to use it, but when a customer states they do not want it 3 different times and then the equipment is tied to the truck and not removable it adds frustration to the whole moving experience that is already frustrating at times.Andrea C.

terrible. wasn't ready when it was supposed to. smelled of smoke when we got it. gas gauge was broken and would fluctuate so they charged us for an insane amount of gas when we only drove 7 miles. couldn't get the truck to start 90% of the time. someone even had to come out and she struggled to get it to start as well. which wasted 4 hours of our time. returned it early, got charged some crazy amount. never got out $50 refund. and we are now getting extra charges for who knows what. The Gilbert Avenue facility in Cincinnati, Ohio was able to accommodate my family's needs quickly. We had to secure a unit large enough for 2 households of furniture and other items. Having never rented a storage unit, the first one I contracted for was too small. The representative walked us through the facility until we were able to locate one large enough for our needs. Everyone was friendly and helpful but the experince was not as easy as renting the truck. We were assigned a unit and then moved the truck. We waited one hour for our turn at the elevator. The first unit we were assigned was to small so we had to switch units. This was our mistake due to ignorance of what we really needed. The staff was very accomdating. The next unit required a different elevator. There was no wait this time but it was not on the ground floor so the staff had to come out and lower it. They were were happy to do that for us. The unit we were assigned was already rented so we had to go back and get another unit. Once again, the staff was pleasnt andaccomodating. The third unit was available, dry and clean. So it worked out in the end. However what we thought would be a 30 minute unload and store turned into a 3 hour comedy of errors. The elevators were the biggest hassel. When I originally rented my storage suit I reserved a truck and storage unit. Truck rental went smoothly until I showed up to my storage unit a half hr before close to get my things set up and was turned away because "I have to be there 45 minutes ahead" even though the website says after hrs access. I then was charged an extra day rental and extra miles for my truck. I started a dispute and was never contacted back, every time I called in the person I needed to speak to was "out of town".
