When I called specifically told them that I needed a unit to put a Queen size bedroom set they reserved a 5 by 5 by 5 it were a small box that could not even put my dresser. So when I went to check in I asked the lady at the desk if it would be big enough to hold my queen size bedroom so she took me to show me the size that they reserved on phone ,it were not what I needed so she gave me the bigger size a 5by 6by 7 but it too small. I think they should educate there employees of the sizes appropriately for customers description. Also there were not enough moving cart for a search a big and well known facility. There were only 4 carts and numerous people were moving. The alarm keeping on going off when using the elevator even when you put the code. Also there were no one to assist you at the facility everyone is at the office only one person at the front desk the to help the customers and we had to wait about an hour to get help another person, while customers coming and going because of the long wait time.

Not sure how doable this is but, i was surprised that they wouldn't allow me to leave my personal vehicle in their lot, i had to find a side street near by to park on. But, apart for the initial parking situation everything else was amazing. The truck was clean, the staff were polite, and everything was handled in a very timely manner. 9/10, would recommend to a friend/family member.

Reserved online for a preferred location as pickup but they had changed the location when they called me saying they don't have the size of the truck I wanted. They guy on the phone from headquarter of uhaul said he will send me the updated details of my reservation which he never did. They never told me address is changed, I was waiting at my preferred location and I had to go to another location which delayed my moving timeframe. Not happy with the customer service. Find another company for better service

The complaint is for uHaul generally, and not necessarily this location. I was charged an afterhours drop-off fee even though I had been told it was a 24 hour location and I could drop the equipment off anytime. It took me 6 phone calls to different uHaul representatives (to the 1-800 number, transferred to supervisor, told to call different 1-800 number, hung up on after waiting for 15 mins, call back again, told I had to call the drop off location) and about an hour to get the charge reversed.

Tanya (the Manager at the Stockyards location) is excellent. Anytime I had an issue or concern she handled it immediately, to my satisfaction and ensured that I felt like a valued customer. She is organized, helpful, able to remain calm but firm when dealing with difficult people or situations and an absolute asset to the uhaul brand. She deserves to be recognized by uhaul for all her hard work. I will highly recommend the facility to anyone looking for storage.

my access code was blocked by mistake. i asked for 2/4 hour access to storage unit and didn't get it. the truck did not have dolly and blankets in the truck which i also paid for. I had a discount code of $50 and the front desk did not know how to add it on.

Clearer instructions on returning after hours. There is some repetition on the app when asking what equipment was used, hence I was charged double for a furniture dolly. The proceed to Any refund owing wasn't clearly described. I had to go to the location physically to sort that out.

Even though I had made an online reservation, when I arrived, I was told the unit was not available, with walk-ins given priority. Fortunately, another similar size unit was available. It worked out, as the unit I thought I was getting needed a ladder to access it and we had several heavy pieces of furniture. Parking was confusing but ultimately manageable. I think the U-haul website should mention that some lockers are accessible only by a ladder and should also mention that walk-ins are honoured over reservations. Other than those two suggestions, this particular site is very, very nice and I would recommend it to others.

When returning my truck they were not able to give my deposit back b/c the machine wasnt working. I drove back the next morning 45 mins to be told I actually owed $1.50. They weren't able to make sense of my reciept the day before. Super frustrating to waste time and gas for 1.50 which they should have just said don't worry about it.

You overcharged me for fuel. The charge 6L for $9.77 is incorrect as I returned the vehicle with 3/8 of tank and it was more than it was in the tank when I took it. When I was receiving the vehicle, your dishonest teller gave me a paper printout with fuel mark between 3/4 and 1/2. When I checked field level it was in fact lower than 3/4. I took a picture of the gas level lower than 3/4 using the uhaul app and you should have it in your system. Please reimburse 10 bucks the overcharge to my credit card.

People at the counter offered little to no help when picking up my rental - their systems were down, my rental contract had arbitrarily changed by a desk employee before my arrival - complete mess. After nearly an hour, a call to the 1-800 # a transfer to some district office I was finally able to be on my way. The desk employees really didn't care or put in any effort.

U haul Toronto weston road location : very poor customer experience, the staff is super unfriendly, barely answering the questions, not smiling at all, looking super mal and annoyed if you dare asking a question. also , the area where you are supposed to unload the truck is SUPER TIGHT , getting into the warehouse was a headache, there is barely enough room for a car. The toilet is a big mess and not clean beside there is only one for women and men for all the clients, i recommend to make at least 2 washrooms and schedule a daily cleaning service for them under close supervision. I want to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Sunny for all his help, i highly appreciated his advices, info, and follow up to make sure i am comfortable.

The cab had not been disinfected clearly. The steering wheel smelled strongly of men's cologne not disinfectant and the general state of the upholstery and interior were not refreshed from the last client . I had to go in and ask for technical details regarding opening the back and then again for where the ramp was as a first time renter . Finally there was no customer parking on site . I drove myself there to pick up the 15 foot truck and then had to repark my vehicle more than a block away , not knowing if it would be ticketed in a residential area which the staff member said was a possibility . The steering was also loose on this particular vehicle . The ramp was very hard to reinsert into the truck to get it latched in safely . It took us numerous tries to resolve this . And the gas tank was only half filled even though I had conveyed an estimated mileage when I booked it. The staff could not tell me the gas consumption mileage so I had to put gas in at the beginning of the journey as I wasn't sure I could get to my rural destination safely . Vehicles should be provided with a full tank to also facilitate the renter to not have to guess how much gas to put in to replace what has been used per the rental contract . Aside from no disinfection, having to park so far away while renting the truck is not acceptable. Choose a different location and ensure it has been disinfected .

My pickup location changed an hour before my pickup time. I understand that someone before me was not able to return the vehicle on time. However that should not be the reason for the next person to change their plan. Due to this location change, not only it increased my bill due to extra mileage but also time. Upon after-hours pick-up of a cargo van, I found the dolly and furniture pads which I requested were not included in the van. I sent a complaint through your site and was contacted the next day with a confirmation that I would not be charged for those items and would receive a further discount for the inconvenience. I have since received my bill, but it's very hard to see the correlation between the line items and what I was actually charged, so I don't know whether what I was told on the phone is true, though the amount is less than I expected. The dolly and furniture pads still appear on the invoice. I returned the van 4 hours before it was due back (during business hours, handed the keys to an employee and confirmed the return face-to-face), but the next day I received a call from the location telling me that I had not returned it and asking when I would be returning it. Overall, my physical experience with the vehicle was great, but I would say that the location is quite disorganized. However, it was the 1st of the month, so I can only imagine how insanely busy they were.

I was charged $20 for an after hours return (contract #24272154). The trailer was in fact returned long before closing - at least 45 minutes. No, I did not do the after-hours online check in, as the store was still open. I did not go to the counter because there was a long line up - at least five people ahead of me - too many in the store during this pandemic! Your customers should not be charged for a drop off during working hours that was missed by your staff when doing their end-of-day rounds. They should have seen the trailer there, in the exact same spot from which I picked it up that morning. I was then told by a rep at the store that she would reverse the $20 charge. That was well over a week ago. No refund has been registered on my Visa statement. Lousy policy UHaul has on this front. I understand having to go online for a late return, but this was NOT a late return! And your customers should not be charged with the task of doing the job of your employees/representatives.

Provide a notification at the time of reservation where customers can leave their cars, ie side street parking only, when they drive to pick up the truck. The site is very tight for parking.

I successfully booked a different location and a different truck. Then I get a call saying it is not available and then relocate me to this other location and that the truck I booked was also not available and offered me a small van. Once I got there the locker size I booked was not available and I was forced to pay double the price because I had already all my stuff with me. It is your mistake, you don't charge more. Employees were not enjoying their job. You are basically playing with people's time, money and effort. Awful experience. The locker didn't even have enough high so I had to put my head down.

He was Mr. organizer, Moving the vehicles, taking charge, finding out information for us when the counter staff were too busy. He even called us a cab. Would love to give a higher rating, but.. I booked online on the 25th of October, for a move-in date on the 26th. I figured I have all day of the 26th *as is convenient for me* to store my belongings.. makes sense right? I received a voicemail on the 26th at 3pm from staff saying that they assume I've moved out and will be cancelling my storage unit. WUT? So I called back within 10 min saying, no, please leave my unit for me I just haven't had the time to come and bring my belongings yet and I've only just booked the unit the night before! I would probably be there later that evening, as I understand storage access hours are until 10pm. They said no problem. I get to the facility at 7:30pm with a truck full of my things, only to find that my access code is denied as well as there is no lock for the unit I booked. I can't talk to anyone about remedying the situation because office is closed, and head office (although available) obviously can't help get me in to my unit. So I have to go back home and unload everything that I had loaded up, just so I could repeat the process the next day when office opens. Frustrating obviously. Either your online booking system has some bugs, or the girl I talked to on the phone that afternoon didn't do her job. I would like to say though that the staff member who helped me get in on the morning of the 27th (and had served me in the past for other services) was lovely, and this woman deserves a raise.

Was given to me as a drop off location for 8:30 am but the location wasn't even open until 9. We noticed and dropped off the key the night before but since they don't get in until 9, they charged me an extra day even though the uhaul was there. Terrible.

A uhaul rep available to give customers a quick basic tour (such as parking brake, wipers, seat/mirror adjustment, heating/cooling). of the vehicle they have rented will be nice. Note: All vehicles are a bit different and things are located in different places with different identifications. These are vehicles that some customers may be renting for the first time, in which case, is a new vehicle to that customer and a manual is not provided to refer to. Maybe the uhaul rep could mandatory ask customers the following questions: - Is it your first time renting a uhaul vehicle? - Are you familiar with the vehicle you have rented? The answer to the above could determine if a basic tour of the vehicle is not necessary. Overall, customer service reps were very busy yet professional, friendly and willing to help the best they can. My personal rental experience was very cost effective: ridiculously lower from my anticipated cost range. Thank you uhaul!

The person who served me was amazing and friendly both at the office and the guy who helped me in the lot. The reason I'm upset is about your apps, website and telephone channel rep. I have placed the order for the truck and created an online profile to manage my rental. Now, I tried to add “my order” to my profile and couldn't do it. I called atleast 5 times to fix this and you guys isn't able to help me. Again, I was put on loop and because of this problem I had a hard time returning key after hours because I couldn't locate my order in profile to return the truck. Because of this I wasted my time and put in to undue stress in the mid.night . I was told by the telephone rep that “we will be able to add the order to my profile” when you take the truck and it never happened. I was stuck in a different city with your truck in the midnight because of this problem. I called the uhual to get assistance to return truck and the wait time is 1 hour and the time is mid night. I wish I was explained a little bit how this truck return work in a different city.

The person working in the yard was incredibly rude. This employee came over to me after I had been hooking up the trailer for 15 minutes and doing the photos on my phone screaming at me from a distance before coming closer to berate me for hooking it up myself. I was yelled at and sworn at, told to shut up, and had cigarette smoke blown in my face by this maskless employee. I was not told I was to wait for him, at the counter I was told where the equipment was and was told to put it back in the same place when I dropped it off after hours. Incredibly rude, incredibly unprofessional, not COVID safe. This employee should be terminated. The woman from inside took over for him and she was professional and courteous but never have I encountered such horrendous customer “service”.

In regard to question number 6. It's very clean from one perspective but the other perspective it isn't. The mop head is extremely musty. When using the mop the whole place would end up smelling musty. Would highly recommend getting a fox washing machine and dryer to wash and change the mop heads out or just put a new mop head on every 3-4 weeks. Also after using the mop store it upside down so it can dry, don't leave it in the bucket (can't dry in the bucket). Overall, customer service, access, security was great, thanks so much!

Seamless pick-up and return of truck

Everything that happened on Monday, October 18th from my rental pick-up to my rental drop-off went smoothly. But when I initially booked the 10' truck on Sunday, October 17th, I encountered an incredibly frustrating problem and failure to adhere to my reservation. My booking was for a 24-hour rental period starting at 4:00pm, and 24-hour pick-up through the mobile app. I arrived at the wrong location at my pick-up time, and by the time I was able to get to the correct location, it was an hour late (5:03pm). My app no longer allowed me to pick-up the vehicle, despite having selected the 24-hour pick-up option, so I needed to call and have the reservation changed to 7:00am the following morning. Please fix whatever policies forced this to happen: I don't see why I should be allowed to pick-up at 4:59pm, but not at 5:03pm, especially when your location is on a major rush-hour arterial road.

My stuff got some bad smell from the rat poison placed in the Uhaul storage. Also the manager is unprofessional and screamed at me just for using the garbage bin for regular waste. She was very disrespectful, and makes the whole experience terrible.

I was told via chat that I could park my car on the lot, but it turned out I couldn't. The location was far for me, so inconvenient to get to. Would like something closer to the downtown. The staff in store were good, though the customers ahead of me in line weren't wearing masks and no one told them to put one on -- they got served maskless. It wasn't clear either where I was to park the van afterwards, and I put the key in a lockbox and then was told that was all wrong, that I should have brought the van, not wear I picked it up, but in front of the bldg. This, again, caused a delay. Overall, during covid, the experience was good.

My storage unit was slanted. I didnt receive the full 5x5x8 because of this. You should do a walk through with the customer when they rent the unit. I wasnt loading it until after hours and didnt take a look at the unit until then. Since I loaded after hours there was nothing I could do, no staff to contact. I had to throw out a bunch of my furniture. I will never be using Uhaul for anything ever again.

The storage unit was clean and big enough for my stuff to be stowed comfortably. The whole of storage building is clean, well lit and inviting. The front desk staff service was a bit slow when we first went to rent the storage when even we were just about 4 to 5 people in line. Apart from that staff were very helpful and professional. there were customers moving out blocking the docks and the driveway which made our moving out delayed over an hour. Your office employees did not deal with those rude customers and let them park their truck in the driveway anyway. They were also using all the building moving equipment and hoarding the elevator for themselves. You need to put up instruction rules on the use of the facility and not allow people like to act this way. We pay movers by the hour and this was a waste of my time and money. If you fine those rude customers they will stop acting this way but ignoring this behaviour will make you lose customers like me.

Customer service is extremely slow. It's difficult when you have only one representative and someone has a complex issue, leading to 30-45 minute waits for other people requiring simple tasks. Would be beneficial if others working could. Open a second window vs doing Tim hortons runs etc. The customer service rep helping was very friendly, not necessarily her fault, but there were like ups all morning.

Had a decent experience with my unit while being there, but first getting it we had a horrible experience. First of all-I was told that there was the size I wanted and that for sure it was there when I came back to move my stuff in… and then I came back another day and there wasn't any of the size I wanted. I had to get a bigger unit and pay way more which I wasn't impressed with whatsoever… but I didn't have a choice. Also along with the inconvenience every time I was in the store waiting to talk to people-the wait time was ridiculous and honestly the staff were slow with doing things. Especially when going to rent a trailer or truck. Other then that I had a good experience. Never had a problem accessing my unit or anything along those lines.

I was always surprised at how easy everything was - from initiating the rental, to accessing it, to leaving. There was no tedious bureaucracy or complicated channels to go through, and the staff were always super helpful. Hasty market took 30 minutes to give me the keys and return the car. There is only 1 car in the parking lot. Spending an hour waiting in a convenience store when it's completely empty doesn't make much sense to me. Especially when he had my ID and credit card the entire time. Was he stealing my identity? I have no idea. As well, the code at Weston Road didn't work so I had to back to the office 3 times. I don't get how the code wouldn't work to get in the storage unit.

It was my first time moving into self storage, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised at this location. Purchasing, check in, and access was simple and secure both for pedestrian and cars (you can pull right into a covered loading dock for self storage). I purchased a climate controlled locker and was surprised how clean and well lit the facility was. Although my unit was on the 2nd floor, the elevator worked smoothly and there were wheeled carts available to borrow. I was impressed to find a poison control box in my storage unit too. I enjoyed how the entrance to self storage is located close to the front, rather than the back of other self storage facilities I've seen. The only small inconvenience were the steps / ledge at the loading dock for smaller/van-sized vehicles. There was not a lot of room to move large furniture and it required lifting from the van to the ledge at chest level. More room and a ramp would have been ideal, but with 2 or more people it is not a problem. Although there was a bit of a wait (Sunday) the day I moved in, all representatives were very pleasant and helpful, and the general manager was accommodating when I requested a unit on a lower floor. They were also helpful when I was unsure about what size storage locker to purchase. All in all, I had a very positive experience and an optimistic about leaving my personal belongings at this facility.
