The drop off was simpler than I expected and was just asked for the keys...I thought they would do a walkthrough with me to verify my deposit hold being lifted... She didn't even go out to check the gas, which I filled at the gas station next door... I became nervous I won't be credited, but I do have my credit card statement. I was taken aback by just handing over the key... If I weren't so exhausted from the move I would have asked more questions, unfortunately I WAS exhausted and didn't even think about it until I was down the road... I received this email so I must assume the truck was checked back in. That is my reason for saying n/a about being staff being helpful or recommending...I could have asked more questions, and I was dumbfounded by how simple it was...I imagine had I have asked more questions she may have given me more answers... But this was my first need to rent a U-Haul, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect... BUT, imho, having too much information is better than not having enough.

Booked uboxes and movers over the phone 6 weeks in advance. I called 3 days before. No movers scheduled. They saidâ€"-they could see that I made the request but the transaction (i made over the phone) did not go through. No one told me there was a problem. Re booked movers. Called the next day to double check. Movers scheduledâ€"now for the wrong day. On hold too many timesâ€"while they “checked” sent back to the cue once. Move went fine. On time. Some boxes marked “fragile” were on the bottom crushed. Only one thing broken though. We called once the boxes were ready to be unloaded and the national level saidâ€"come anytime between certain hours. Luckily we called the uhaul right before we went (given our prior bad experiences) and were informed they needed 24 hr notice. First load we picked up went fine. Made an appt to pick up rest in a few days. I need to change the pick up time so called local Uhaul and call went to the national Uhaul. They told me I did not have a second appt to pick up. Made second appt. We showed up with helpers- a one hr drive. Local Uhaul told us our appt was for the next day. (It wasn't. I have a witness to my phone call). Would not move our box out for us. Said there was too much in front of it. Never again.

Tires were not balanced on trailer, dealer unable to do anything about it as well as service tech. Company policy regarding balancing trailer tires needs to be changed. Trailer tires need to be balanced. Dealer needs to have staff who have authority to remedy problems. Personnel at this location and service personnel just play the blame game.

I had to drive nearly 100 miles round trip just to pick up the truck because you didn't have one near me. You charged me for each of these miles. That sucks!

We initially requested a 10ft truck and was contacted due to it being unavailable. Instead, we were told that a 9ft cargo van was being reserved for us instead. We called to confirm that this would be available and they confirmed the reservation and availability. When my partner picked up the truck he was informed that they double booked the van and it would not be available today. He was then informed that the only vehicle that would be available was a 15 ft one which is more expensive than those we initially requested and was conformed to be receiving from the location. Unfortunately he agreed to take it due to the time issue of needing to move. When he informed me of this, I called to see if there was anything that could be done due to the situation. A very rude gentleman (I do not recall his name because he stated it very quickly once when answering) continuously interrupted me and would not allow me to ask all of my questions. He did however report that it was not a double booking issue, but that someone had not returned the van yet so all they had available at the time was a 15 ft truck. When attempting to ask why my partner was misinformed and if anything could be done he continued to interrupt me stating that due to his agreeing to the truck they would do nothing. Then when I asked to speak with a supervisor due to his refusing to let me speak and his tone of voice increasing and becoming aggressive, he stated "Oh here we go" and stated he would transfer me to a manager. Then after some time on hold I spoke to a lovely woman named Rochelle who allowed me to fully explain the situation and request for a possible discount of any kind due to it not being our fault that the vehicle we were confirmed to be receiving was not available. She stated belief that someone may be able to assist me, but that she was not a manager. I stated confusion due to the previous gentleman agreeing to transfer me to a supervisor and she apologized stating that he transferred me to her instead, but that she would be happy to get a manager for me. I then spoke to a manager (I believe her name was Sandra, not sure though) also allowed me to report the issue. However, she stated that when placing an order for a truck "you have to click the box to be notified if it is not available" to complete the request. I informed her that we were notified initially, and the final order was adjusted over the phone after we confirmed the change that we were being informed of uhaul making. I stated having called and confirmed that there would be a 9ft van available for us on the date at the requested location. She stated "I don't know what to tell you mam, you didn't check the box, I can't give you any type of discount". I reiterated that there was no box to check, because we were over the phone to which she replied "we could be here all day, you did not check the box. Nothing can be done about it." and the call was ended. Ultimately, there were 3 main issues that need to be improved upon: 1- properly inform clients of the issues whether it be a scheduling mistake or someone not adhering to their timeline and offer them ALL options(if we could have waited a little, he would have and it sounded like when I called a couple hours later they had the van). 2- when a customer calls with a concern or complaint, please listen to them and reply without interrupting and escalating the conversation. Especially be careful that they cannot hear you huff and puff muttering to yourself "oh here we go". 3- If there was an issue that was out of the control of the client i.e the vehicle requested AND CONFIRMED is not available as expected, work with the client especially if what you are offering is more expensive than the one initially promised. It essentially feels as though my partner, being kind and passive was taken advantage of and conned taking a more expensive vehicle for uhaul's gain.

It was difficult to contact the location directly to ask questions that only a local rep would know. Calling the local phone number always got me connected with the call center, very frustrating. This survey focuses on the individual locations, it should include the company as a whole.

The people at this UHaul location cold not have been more helpful.. especially Danielle and Austin. I inadvertently dropped my cellphone in the truck as we were dropping it off. When I went back the next day, that truck had been rented by another customer. Danielle and her team went out of their way to find out who had the truck and to contact the person, who brought it back to the UHaul location that same day. Thank you very much! We will definitely use this location again whenever we need to rent a truck or a trailer.

Ordered a 10ft box truck because it had a ramp to aid us with moving items, was unknowingly given an 8ft truck with no ramp. Blew out my knee lifting the units up until the truck because there was no ramp. Pretty awesome. Thanks guys

The truck was well,past its prime. We had difficulty opening and closing the rear door. My wife couldn't close it at all by herself. The central panel appears to have been glued on. The key is obviously a copy and often got caught while trying to remove it from the locks. Sometimes it took over a minute to get it out of the ignition. This is the 6th truck I've rented in the past 3 months and I was extremely disappointed in it, especially considering the price. I explained this when returning it bur was offered no discount.. when I said I ythought it was past its prime I was told "Yeah, a lot of them are like that."

I set up a reservation weeks before pick up date. Drove an hour to the location, only to be told there is no truck here for you. The customer that rented the size truck I reserved, didn't bring it back when they were supposed to. No phone call to tell me. Had to make several trips with the pickup truck and trailer they offered instead.

I'd expected to pick up/drop off in Middlebury, VT -- ended up going all the way to Rutland and back. Be careful before you finalize transaction to make sure the place you selected is the one it defaults to. I've used the Riverside Drive, Burlington location in the past, and it was better. Check the equipment before you drive away. The cust. representative was nice, younger guy - but no dolly was present in the 26' foot truck which presented a royal pain in moving a 5 bedroom house.

Dealing with the local office was great.... Dealing with the 800 Number was a major hassle. Called multiple time like 7 times. three of the calls where wait times over 30 minutes EACH. then when I finally got a person he wasn't able to help me nor could he transfer my call. Returning the truck after hours. use the app like paperwork said. App could not fined me nor the reservation number 45 minutes I decided to drop keys in box and left. I tried calling the next day again several time. I was traveling and hour and 1/2 so I waited on hold finally my wife yelled at me and told be to hang up the phone or she was going to throw it out the window.

First, we reserved the uboxes at a uhaul about 10 miles from our house and that was switched on us to a uhaul that was over 50 miles from our house when there was no longer sufficient time to change our plans. We were allowed to make reservations for a store that didn't have ibixes at all. We were allowed to make reservations with a truck that wouldn't tow the boxes. We were told by a manager at the new uhaul that we wouldn't be charged daily for the truck being in our yard since we planned to return it while we were loading our boxes but since the uhaul was now over 50 miles away that was significantly more difficult - and we were charged anyway. Our boxes did arrive on time which was great but when we went to pick them up, they were not ready, they weren't on a trailer, they didn't even know where they were. While the other uhaul had changed our order to a truck that could tow our boxes, this store had not so the whole thing ended up taking forever to sort out and fortunately our movers were late or we would have ended up paying for help when we had nothing to move. When they did finally load our boxes, we watched them drop the box on the wrong place on the trailer resulting in the whole box crashing down about a foot. Overall I ended up paying over $500 more than our quote and it was a terrible and stressful experience.

Was frustrated because I only have a cell phone and no land line and they wanted / needed 3 numbers. Very upset and unnecessary !! The young girl charged my account for my one way, one free month storage and the account has NOT been credited yet !! Waiting to see if it comes back through for credit.

When I went into the storage unit there is a big black spot on the floor. I think they should have not Rented that unit out until it was cleaned the black spot on the floor was really a disappointment. I am kind of iffy if I would recommend this to someone else. Because like I said the storage had A black spot. To even open the storage unit was very hard. I had to physically go get the manager to show me how to open it. They should give you directions in the handbook to show me how to open the storage units.And others to know how do use the unit and close the unit.

Told me the rate is $69 a month for any unit then a month later told me it's $169 a month and nobody there would tell me $69. Never had me sign any paperwork so the second shift guy clearly had no clue what he was doing. Terribly managed site and poor training.
