Entry and exit with the largest of rental trucks can be a bit tricky - but the good part of that is there is usually plenty of UHaul 'inventory' on the lot to choose from. The staff at the Rutland location is very friendly and 'knows their stuff'.Gary S.

My experience with the call center was disappointing. I would suggest that you let customers talk with the store before scheduling installations to make sure that proper staffing is available. The Rutland store is basically a one man operation and that person Patrick is just amazing with excellent customer service skills. The one employee on site was excellent. I give him a 10. I give the business itself a 1. It doesn't matter if you check in early online, you still have to wait in line for the one employee to check your ID. And the second guy behind the counter? Oh he doesn't work here. He's just going to stare at a computer screen while the one clerk has to run outside to connect a trailer, check in vehicle etc. Later the manager came from out back and helped dissipate the long line that had formed. That was Friday. On Saturday, it was worse. One attendee. A 50 minute wait to find out there was no storage available. People waiting in a slow moving line just to buy boxes. One guy just left cash on the counter for a roll of packing tape. Another guy decided he would fill his propane canister at a local hardware store. After finding storage elsewhere in town, I returned the vehicle, grateful to be finished.Michael G.

People at location were awesome, u haul as a company not up to par. I did the check in early bs u haul sent me. Complete wase of time as I had even more to fill out when I got to location. Makes the company look dumb. I also had to give 3 reference numbers at location vs on line check in. There was no fast check in to get me on the road faster. U haul has failed me again, twice in a row. I swore u haul off after my last EXTREMELY FAILED encounter, which cause me thousands of dollars for a u haul mistake. But u haul has a monopoly on rentable enclosed trailers. So I was forced to use this awful company again.BRYCE P.

AWFUL experience ... Even though there were several much newer 26 foot trucks on your lot both at the beginning and end of my one day rental, your U-Haul rep would only assign me his oldest wreck. So off I went with a squeaky dash, rattling seats, peeling upholstery, sloppy steering and a woefully underpowered engine for a truck of this size [most likely due to age related wear] ... until about 100 miles out when the engine lost lube oil pressure due to a leak. Luckily ... having been a diesel mechanic in my earlier career ... I was able to nurse the truck and myself home safely, but not without a fair amount of inconvenience and delay. Shame on you U-Haul for renting an unsafe 20,000 pound vehicle. If the leak had involved brake or steering fluid in stead of engine oil which is could easily have been the case on a truck in this condition, the outcome would likely have been much more dire for me and anyone in my vicinity. The most efficient part of the experience however was how fast your rep processed my credit card for the full amount of the 250 mile rental. You may have gained $300 but you lost a lifelong customer. Next trip ... I'm going PENSKE which I would also strongly recommend to others. Truck JH1876M should be relegated to the scrap yard. It's Dangerous!! You have my contact information. Employees at U-Haul are not helpful. My ubox never got delivered on time from Rutland,VT to Tukwila,WA. When I asked multiple times where my ubox was located they were unable to inform me or they would state â€œI dont know anything about the ubox storage. I just deal with rentalsâ€ at the Tukwila, WA location. Your app/website is laggy and uninformative. Employees need to be educated on costumer service & educated on all U-Haul products.Michael G.

I'm am beyond disgusted with this place and how they treat their customers!! I have had this unit as well as another for a couple years now! I have always made my payments, the whole 9 yards. When I went to go and get my Christmas tree and decorations, I opened the unit and started seeing mice traps placed all over uhaul and no one ever called or informed me of a rat or mice infestation. When I opened the bin that was in my unit, my white tree was yellow and the tree as well as the bin was filled with mice feces, urine and a load of rice! Same wit my decorations box. When I called the Rutland uhaul to notify them the manager was so RUDE!! saying I was making this stuff up and so on! So I stopped paying my bills hoping to get someone's attention, only attention given was if u want to abandon the unit or auction! I told higher up about the incident they were jus concerned about money they didn't care about MY hard earned money paying for the unit as well as MY personal belongings inside! Paying HUNDREDS of dollars a month you expect your items not to be completely ruined! I paid off both accounts and have moved out of the large unit, coming back to do the same wit the smaller one. The manager of rutland uhaul is the biggest joke I've ever did business with! I will not talk to him or do any other business with uhaul. Which is really sad cuz I have rented with you guys multiple times and have multiple units! I also have many family and friends that do business as well. We will be taking our business elsewhere, with a company in Mendon. I'm glad to be cutting ties! The one thing i will say is the Travelimg Manager, I believe his name is Peter, from NY, that man was a gentleman, helping any way he could! He went out of his way , above and beyond to help me get everything situated to move out all my belongings. I even told him about the manager and he let me know that multiple customers complain about him! Don't you think you guys should do something? There was only one employee working inside when we attempted to drop off our equipment. There were several people doing the same, and it was clear that he was not intended to be solo handling all of us. I have nothing but respect for the gentleman who worked there, as he maintained a jovial personality through what must have been a very stressful situation and helped us return our equipment very quickly. Original move-in date 9/9/22. Clean out on 10/2/22. Access door broken, could not move out sofa. Rep indicated no charges beyond our one month rental would accrue. Door not fixed until 10/17; moved out sofa on 10/18. Continue to get bills via email and land mail. Communication on site has been pleasant and helpful. The interface within UHaul obviously very poor. We should not be getting "late fees" and "late bills". We did all as planned/requested. Please stop forwarding me bills and additional charges. I had to rent two units, as when I arrived the one large one I was told over the phone was available was not the same afternoon when I arrived. OK, then I rented a cargo van to transport my stuff to new house (moved from Cleveland to Vermont) and when I rented the van, I got emails promoting a free month of storage with my truck rental. That seemed backwards to me, having gotten the units first and not told about the deal? Also, I paid for a portion of August as I moved in the third week, then the entire month of September, but I emptied the units on 9/12. DO I GET A REFUND on the rest of the month? The lovely people at the store said they were booked and so happy I was opening up units for other customers. HELLO. I paid more in the first place because the one 10x10 unit I needed was rented out from under me. Then I did not occupy for the full term. Please advise. The facility had a pipe burst they took half of my stuff out and never returned it back to the unit. The insurance company that is over my claim is taking forever to keep in touch with me and re-issue my money back for the stuff that was thrown away. I would not recommend using U-Haul ever again it was the worst Experience. When I got there to try to clean out my storage unit I had trouble with the lock politely went in there and ask for help and was told they are not allowed to help me I said to the lady I’m trying to clean out my unit I need help the lock will not open her boss said we have to call locksmith I said no you do not I have a code I will not open was very disrespectful going back-and-forth with me the Lady was just trying to help but her boss was very rude and disrespectful I would not recommend them ever again to anybody. My husband and I have had a unit for a month and we have had nothing but issues accessing our things. We have a heated unit, but it doesn't do any good if you can't get inside to your things. When I went into the storage unit there is a big black spot on the floor. I think they should have not Rented that unit out until it was cleaned the black spot on the floor was really a disappointment. I am kind of iffy if I would recommend this to someone else. Because like I said the storage had A black spot. To even open the storage unit was very hard. I had to physically go get the manager to show me how to open it.
