I want my money back. The storage charged me .91 cents when the sign stated .87 cents for boxes. The representative never offered a refund or a solution when I brought it to my attention. Instead I was told maybe uhaul raised the prices and haven't sent new signage. That is U-Hauls problem to make sure the prices are correct and signage is in place, NOT THE CUSTOMER. Which means that U-Haul is STEALING money from their customers! That change adds up and is done in a non suspecting way.

When I first checked in staff was amazing. When I went to close my storage I dealt with the general manager and another stuff who were extremely rude and making jokes about me as I walked up because I said I didn't have help to clear my storage. I'm not sure how he got his position. But I will be filing a complaint.

The movers did not show up on the day they were suppose to bring the Ubox. I had to reschedule and wasted a day of my being able to stay at my Airbnb. When they did get there they said my sofa wouldn't fit so I had to show them how to pack the ubox so it would fit. They were not good at packing the ubox at all.

My reservation confirmation said to pick up the van at 4280 Foothill. No van there for me. He sent me to 5330 International Blvd. They sent me to 8000 San Leandro St. I was supposed to get a dolly. No dolly, though I was charged for it. I called your customer service, still no refund. Never again…

This location was good, but it was not the pick up location I signed up for from UHaul - it was changed last minute without letting me know from a Berkeley pick up location to this and I only found out from the Berkeley location.

Staff should make sure if customers have taken pictures to dispute where gas levels are at will be the same in the computer records when returning rentals. I was being told to fill up to full or the 3/4 marker where I took the picture to show at the beginning of rental day one how much Gass should be filled. I had to return to put 4 more gallons for the staff to tell me a second time I wasn't at the marker. I put $31.00 of gas to fill back at the amount of gas I used. I went to the gas station twice so I don't get charged the outrageous gas fees.

The mobile check-in is USELESS! I uploaded my driver's license when I reserved the truck. Then I was sent THREE additional texts to upload my driver's license... I gave up and went inside to do the paperwork (the truck wasn't outside for me either) and Again had to show my driver's license. You should get rid of the Mobile rental it's a waste of time and energy. Everyone at this location was Lovely and very helpful!

When buying the storage unit I was told to get a lock because its needed with the unit; on U-Haul website it said id get the lock for free. When I realized I was being charged for it I showed the cashier and he basically shrugged it off saying "oh yeah I wasn't aware of that, looks like you do get it for free" turn proceeded to charge me. When I was getting the truck the guy asked my how many miles am I driving, how would I know? That should be fine at the end when I return the van not at the beginning. So I just said 10. then it got marked up with 5.5 gallons of gas then it actually had. Because I didn't check on the lot I was responsible for the gas so I had to fill up $26 of gas for a 4 mile round trip. When I returned the van and saw I only drove 4 miles I realized I paid a total of $20 for the van $40 for rental fees $26 for gas $15 for 10 miles. The world's most expensive 4 mile trip. They wouldn't reimburse me for the extra gas I paid. When I finally got to my storage unit I found a mouse trap inside.. that along with another customer at the front desk talking about how his unit flooded does not give me confidence in this place at all. The only positive experience about this whole ordeal is when I went to return the lock the lady was unable to return it for some reason so she just gave me it's cost out of her own pocket.

first off... I dropped off the trailer at San Leandro location in Oakland and the representative told me that the trailer had a flat tire on the right side of the trailer. He said that I was "lucky" that I made it to my destination!! With all the other stuff I was dealing with I was given a trailer with safety issues ?? No bueno!! I was pulling my car on the back of a 26ft ancient truck. I could have been a very serious and dangerous situation. As well as having a 1 way 26ft truck catch on fire on the return to the drop off location.

Every thing is good BUT my major complaint and why I left is after a few months (I don't remember how many but like 3-6 months), my storage fee went up from $59.95 to $79.95 per month. That's 33%. When I contacted them, they were so "whatever" about it. A price increase is expected but 33% is a bit much. Honestly, just be reasonable about increases. I would have stay otherwise.

There was no enforcement of the masking mandate posted at the entrance, many customers had no mask at all, and there was ineffective use of masks among most of the staff. However, staff were courteous, helpful, and provided satisfactory service.

The suspension of the 26' truck was such that it bounced a lot even at 55 mph . I am guessing though not sure this is to be expected. If so, customers might be clued in ahead of time so that they won't wonder whether they should be worried.

The representative was unable to locate the keys to the truck rented to me. She kept asking different people if they knew where the key was before someone (I'm guessing the manager) told her to give me a different rental. Also, I asked for a van and was given a truck. I should have received notification prior to my arrival that the vehicle was going to be different.

Systems do not line up. I had to pick up the truck in LA, when I arrived truck was not available and I was sent to another location. When I got to Oakland to drop off truck and move into the facility I was told my reservation was not there. I had an email proof of my reservation which was not honored. I had to pay more for a unit which was not expected. I waited for over 2 hours for clarity which I never received as the manager was driving around in the golf cart dismissing my concerns. I was told to call corporate which I did. I have submitted the proof of reservation and have yet to hear back from anyone.

UHaul needs to provide some seating for customers who have physical needs such as chairs. I had movers helping me b/c of my age and walking disability and had to borrow the chair at the handicapped window in order to sit down while they made the move for me. The personnel at the UHAUL faculty were nice about it but it got me to thinking what if another handicapped person had come in? Then what? One or two additional chairs should be enough. Just a thought.

I lost more than half of my belongings cause of a fire in June 2018, and as loyal as a customer as I have been for the past ten/ eleven years your company refuse to give me any monies cause I don’t have insurance, for that I would never recommend you to anyone I pay my bill and keep it moving.

I made an reservation it took 30 minutes to get me a storage . The yiunf lady that was helping me need to be still trained she didn't know anything she had to keep asking for help . My move-in experience was terrible. The first issue was that I placed an online reservation for a unit and on the day I try to move in I learn that the unit I reserved is not available and no reservation was made. My only comparable option was a slightly larger unit with higher cost. Because I was in need of storage immediately, I decided I had to sign up for something and accepted the higher cost but was not compensated for the lack of availability and absence of a reserved unit. My second, much worse, issue is that the online office and access hours are WRONG. When we moved in we were not informed that the information online was out of date. We believed we'd have access to our unit until 10pm and come to find out we only had access until 7pm, on the following day it was even earlier - until 5pm only. When I went to confirm this with the office staff all I was told was "the website is wrong." There was no further explanation, no offer of help or accommodation, and from there only frequent reminders that we needed to be done moving in by 7pm. I do not understand how information as important as office and access hours are not updated in all relevant locations and how the staff does not proactively mention this to tenants to account for the gap. Ultimately, I decided to rent this unit because I'd already trucked my items to the location and needed immediate storage, but if I'd had more of a choice I would have gone somewhere else. Access hours and customer service have been terrible and I will not recommend this facility to anyone.
