The truck was not serviced or road worthy. There was no brakes for the truck. The only reason I did not bring it back is because I'm a hard headed Marine. I had to add oil and clean the air filter for the truck. The AC does not work on it and there was trash in the truck. I don't believe that the full payment is appropriate. Never againMichael T.

I used the Mobile Truckshare app to pick up the truck. However when I went to look for the truck that was assigned to me, it was blocked by two other trucks and I couldn't drive it out. I had to go in and asked them to retrieve it. In the end they gave me a different truck. This wasn't a smooth pick up experience at all. The truck was also too old with a mileage of almost 120K miles. The facility was newly built but the truck provided to me was too old to drive.Muhammad A.

Great Uhaul location. But the truck developed a problem with the headlights dimming/flickering almost off that necessitated calling Uhaul roadside service. Service assured us the truck would continue running OK - it did, but the headlights were a safety risk that night. We could not drive at night as planned for the rest of the trip.Mark V.

When I dropped off the vehicle and Grayslake at 920am. One of the workers asked if i paid for the van woth a credit card i replied yes and he told me that i could leave, i asked if tjat was ok he said yes so i left. Then i got charged for another day and ins. Because they didnt check the check the car in at 10am. Very unfair for over charging peopleJoseph J.
I think the staff here needs training on how to deal with customers in a more professional, welcoming and friendly manner. The staff seemed to be a bit surly and abrupt. It would help to come across a little more welcoming and it wouldn't hurt to smile and say thank you.Michael M.

Next to impossible to reach location by phone. Your central phone system has a consistent 15 minute wait. This is the kiss of death if you don't man your phones both at location and centrally. This was not one data point but at least 8 times over past week trying to reserve, confirm, and finalize return of equipment. I still am not sure the trailer was received as I dropped it off after hours. Tried 3 times today and could not reach anyone. Price was great, equipment was great but the fact you have to wait listening to repeating messages makes me want to rent elsewhere next time.William K.

I had filled up the gas tank to where it was when I left the place. Then they charged me $18.00 saying it wasn't where it was supposed to be. It was right where it was when I got the truck. To charge me $18.00 when probably $5.00 is all you needed to fill the rest is instance. I tried to call back but it puts you on hold for 20 minutes both times I called what a joke. Uhaul's storage system was down when I was trying to check in. The staff was unable to look up my reservation because of this. They also were not able to check what units were available. This made the check in process extremely difficult and stressful.Richard H. | First Impressions
The staffs are very helpful and friendly but the pod lock that I bought from the shop broke and half of the key got stuck and now I can't open my storage without hiring a locksmith. I hope the uhaul company should provide emergency rescue solutions for these kinds of incidents. I think that having your system be automated for booked reservations. Letting the customer know that they have a reservation and letting them opt to either accept the reservation or cancel it if the aren't there at the scheduled time. We had made the reservation for 3 days. My wife confirmed it a few days after to make sure the equipment would be local. So we thought it was all settled. No matter when we came it should have been reserved for us. Especially if we booked for multiple days. Having some sort of automation reminding or asking if we still need the reservation and if we don't respond it will be canceled. I'm sure it's in your fine print that most customers don't read or know about.Michael W.

Correctly list the size of the open trailer without ramp as 3 foot 4 in wide not a 4 x 7. Your other trailer that is 4 x 7 with ramp measures correctly this caused me lots of issues and 3 hours wasted and of my life and $15 in gas, not happy you did not list the trailer as the correct size.Robert W.

Only problem was there was less than 1/8 tank of gas upon receipt of the truck yet we were required to return it with 1/4 tank. We spent over $40 on gas to go 20 miles and return it with the required gas but only got a $25 credit. The credit is not market rate for the cost of the gas.Brian G.

The interior was spotless and the employees were very efficient and helpful - we needed an adjustment to our contract after checking out our van and it was handled in under three minutes.THOMAS O.

The rental pick up location needs a larger sign to designate the drop off location. The painted parking arrows are too faint in the dark especially when it's raining. The app does not explain the parking lot arrows or specific drop off location. Road signs in concrete bases with arrows would be ideal. This is still my favorite rental locationJeff L.

I utilized two storage units. One was inside and upstairs. This unit was nice, however it was ANNOYING that the hallway lights were on a timer or based on movement. The lights would always shut off when I was working inside the unit. It forced me to exit the unit and walk halfway down the hallway to trigger the lights to come back on. The other unit I used was outside. Although there was some lighting, they often were not on when necessary (cloudy days, dusk, daylight savings changes, etc) and were not positioned to help see inside of the unit. The one thing I was very unhappy about was the fact that upon move out, my prepayment was not prorated and returned to me. I lost 4 weeks of a refund (December 5 - January 2) and feel that UHaul can now earn double the rent on the same unit when it is re-rented during that time. My recommendations for future U-Haul storage seekers will be to NEVER prepay to avoid this unfairness when moving out.Mary E. | Overall Experience

I don't like not having anyone answering the phones during business hrs and having the call default to the corporate general number. I had 2 instances where I could not make a payment due to working the front line as a traveling nurse during this pandemic. While the facility itself was very clean and maintained; The staff is pretty incompetent. They majorly screwed up a truck rental for me...In which they didn't even tell me they overbooked...I had to find out 10 hours before I needed that truck for my move the next day. And because of the lack of communication, I had no options to rent from another company to - as the closest company that had a truck available was 200 miles away. After they screwed that up, I, in person, notified them that the units I was renting should not be charged for another month because I was moving everything out the next day (which was before the end of the current month). Yet again, they didn't listen to me and note that in their system, So now I keep getting emails that I'm late on my payments, when in fact, I shouldn't have been charged at all. The staff did not explain how to use the access card. They never told us we had to scan it to turn off the alarm. They didn't tell the customers after us either - we both set off the alarm system. Don't get me wrong, my experience was great! However, I reserved my unit via your website. It lies. On the internet, it said that the unit I reserved could store a 1-2 bedroom unit between 1200-1600 square feet. My two bedroom was just over 1000 square feet. When the movers got there, they said no way my stuff would fit in that unit. I was able to upgrade my unit with the help of the staff. It all turned out well, and the staff was amazing!
