The scheduling process was beyond difficult. My boxes were rescheduled to be delivered to my new address a day late due to “being down a truck”. Appropriate staff was impossible to get in touch with at the local office in New Orleans on Gentilly. The forklift driver got stuck in my neighbor's ditch and severely damaged their front yard. After my boxes were picked up I was called and questioned why my full containers had padlocks on them when my empty containers without padlocks had been picked up that morning. I would recommend this service, but if used again, would go through a different local office.

When the ubox was sent to san antonio it was sent to the wrong location. It was very hard to figure out for the movers and myself what was going on. I had to call multiple uhaul numbers and they still gave me the wrong information.

I found that each department didn't know what the other department was doing. When I called to have my vox delivered, someone had to return my call as my box couldn't be located. My box was delivered and already picked up before my billing date and I received an email requesting next month payment. I called again had to receive a returned call because no one knew my box had been returned. Instead of getting a returned call then, a week later I got a call requesting payment. Advised again of my box being returned, then it was handled. Overall associates were kind, just frustrating having to deal with it from my end.

Very unprofessional behavior. Gentleman working desk (Nick or Don, according to another employee) was rude and had no customer service skills. Witnessed him pick up the phone and hang up on caller. Was dismissive when checking us in- not at all willing to help and was rude. Mumbled under his breath then seemed frustrated when I didn't hear him properly. Did not allow me to use my credit card after looking at it for just a few seconds (I never swiped the card) because he said he needed a "real" line of credit even though it is a true line of credit on a Mastercard. I rarely leave reviews, but this behavior is not acceptable for an employee who is being paid to do a job.

First, when I walked in, a few people said hi but most just seemed pissed that I was there. Honestly, that's kind of what I expect, so no big deal. When I dropped off my truck, the person who checked me back in was super nice. But then, on my way home, I realized that I forgot my AirPods in the cup holder of my rental. Within 15 minutes I realized my mistake, had called and was on my way back. As soon as I arrived, my phone alerted me that my AirPods had been found and were now connected to my phone, but miraculously, no one seemed to know where they were. I searched the truck top down. Now, I am fully aware that I made the mistake for leaving them to begin with, but there is no way they just disappeared from the cup holder. There were two other people who were in the truck with me all day in the truck and saw them in the cup holder while we driving around. Now, they were not with me when I dropped it back to remind me to grab them, but still- the point is I am POSITIVE that is where they were. The only solution that was offered to me was that I go check the trash can or they would call me when they turned up, which I am not hopeful will happen. I will never be back to this location, and maybe never U-Haul if I can avoid it.

I booked online. I said 3:30 pickup and 9:30 drop off since y'all are open until 10pm. The counter employee adjusted the return to 9pm since I was there 15 minutes early. During my drive away I received a text saying $20 charge after 7pm. I didn't learn about this from your app or from the employee. Strange?

Reserved a pick up confirmed online and used debit card. Should up and no pickup truck. Then they said they had a van but I couldn't rent because I didn't have major credit card even though online I reserved it with debit card. Rented a box truck but was told I needed to have it back by 4:00 pm no matter what. Then I was purchasing a lock and was told I could not pay with cash. Card only. I WAS a long time customer to U-Haul but next time I doubt I will ever use U-Haul again. Employees we not the nicest. Both had attitudes. Will tell everyone I know about my experience with y'all.

Here's an idea for improvement: provide any communication that you've committed to. Stick to the timeline that was also committed to, or provide updates if things changed. My u-boxes were delivered 48 hours later than I was told they would be. And then I was given no explanation or even acknowledgement of the mistake. Then when they arrived, they were FULL of other customers' belongings! Again, with no explanation or apology for screwing up our schedule. Then when it was time for them to be picked up, I got no call or text the day before or day of. It wasn't until 3 days after the committed pick-up date that they called and asked if I was still interested in having them picked up. As though I wanted them to live on the street forever?! I thought maybe this was just common uhaul practice, but fortunately my experience at my destination city was a million times better and helped me realize just how epically the New Orleans location dropped the ball at every turn. 0 out of 5 stars, do not recommend.

My experience with U-box and U-haul overall was absolutely excellent. This was my first time using any container moving service and I was nervous about the process and the safety of my belongings. Every step of the way, my questions were answered and customer service was top notch. I felt informed and very well taken care of throughout the whole process. U-haul met and exceeded all my expectations. 10/10 I did look into PODS but they were unable to accommodate my needs and customer service was seriously lacking. I'm so glad I canceled with them an switched to U-haul. I'm a U-hail customer for life. Thanks for making my move as easy as possible!

U-boxes promised to arrive empty in Houma,LA, on 6/18, late arrival on 6/21. U-Haul committed to pick up loaded u-Boxes day after calling in that the boxes were loaded and ready. Called on 6/23, late pick up on 6/28. Repeated calls to u-haul resulted in long waits, unknowledgeable, unhelpful and even unresponsive staff. Numerous dead-end transfers of phone calls left me very displeased. U-haul promised 7/8 delivery to final destination in Cecil, AR. I personally went to Fort Smith office on 7/8 where Jason confirmed the boxes had just arrived and agreed to contact contracted moving help “Helping Hands” who agreed to pick up boxes but solicited cash payment from me for unload of boxes at final destination (Cecil). But after no contact and no show with Helping Hands, Omar with “movinghelp.com” assisted in canceling Helping Hands and coordinated with “Muscle Movers” for delivery on 7/13. Though u-Haul made this move miserable, I did encounter some outstanding individual performance worthy of commendation: U-Haul Fort Smith - Jason and Rose were extremely helpful and responsive. Both stayed in contact with me and and reporting every thing they had tried to get the original delivery team to react. Movinghelp.com - Omar did a great service of arranging the alternate delivery team. Omar stayed on the line until the matter was resolved even calling back when the poor cell service dropped calls. Muscle Movers - Charles and Daniel were courteous, hard-working, quick and very personable. My original u-haul contract promised delivery on 7/8 and the provided of paying me $50 for every day late and you were late. Does u-haul plan to honor this late penalty?

I had no issue with this storage but my move out date was prior to the date indicated in this survey. The attendant informed me that there were no additional steps to complete when I returned the main key. I would say that the only improvement is to confirm on the company's end when move outs are complete to avoid and discrepancies. Overall, I am satisfied.

Unfortunately the facility had been vandalized during Hurricane Ida. They were however doing rentals. And also storage units. The staff was a little unorganized. And clearly did not want to be there.

I told the Manager that I may not need the storage unit after all and ask if I could get a refund the next day if I didn't use the storage unit I was told no. When I went to take my lock off the unit a couple of days ago a gentleman told me that he had never heard of that and I should have been able to get my money back. Somebody lied to me. Either the Manager or the attendant.

Went to St Claude location and they didn't have size I needed. General Manager searched for next nearest UHaul and reserved one for me in Gentilly. Drove to gentilly and staff there were very helpful too. Got my unit. Thank you.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with U haul and I will not be supporting the company anymore, I will also never recommend your company and I have shared my negative experience with others. I was having electrical problems with my house so I rented a storage unit because the house needed to be rewired and I had to relocate, the next day the house caught on fire, I never even had a chance to move into the unit, after finding somewhere to go and dealing with the stress of a house fire I called back U haul to try and get a refund for the unit I never moved into because I had to pay the deposit on the house I found, it had been about 4 days and I called multiple times but kept being told to call back, they refused to give me a refund for the unit I never moved into because they said it had been past 24 hours. After all the support I have given U haul in my life you all showed no sympathy or compassion for someone who was going though a hard time and just trying to get a refund. that $100 was severely needed and I had to go without food for almost a week because everything I had went towards a deposit on a new house, you all made a bad situation for me so much worse. Your company is completely out of touch with the people your supposed to be providing a service for, your 24 hour refund policy combined with the overpriced storage units is ridiculous and just greedy. going forward I would rather go out of my way to find real people to help me move and I will find alternative storage units because a company as out of touch as U haul does not deserve the support of the people and I will make sure to let as many people know about this horrible experience as I can

The staff was always friendly & helpful, and that included when I rented the truck to move my items to the storage. The location, including the storage area was always very clean. My only suggestion is that I would still like to see more lighting and maybe another check in & out box in the back.

There was bugs in the unit that actually got into some of my bins. There was rat traps as well. Furthermore, the unit did not have enough light so it was hard to see when moving all the stuff out.
