Online reservation/check in system is nice. The only issue is that I intended to rent from a neighborhood location but the system automatically moved my reservation because they did not have the specific trailer requested. The change was a little too subtle for my old eyes.

I would have given this site an excellent and it's probably a little bit unfair for them to get a poor rating as the service and the staff there are always wonderful! But returning your truck rental is part of the WHOLE experience. Your application for returning your vehicle after hours for self-service absolutely sucks. I always get to the same point before I have trouble and that's where you take your photo and it will not let me, no matter how I try, I can NEVER get through to the absolute end. For that I'm giving an F rating. To top it all, now you're asking for 10 photos instead of two, which I think is absolutely ridiculous! It took me a total of about 45 minutes, trying to complete it online, sitting in the dark parking lot on the bad side of town with your office closed. Not safe! I have a sports car, so I rent for local moves and pickups of things from stores that I order that I cannot get in my car all the time, you can look at my history. So I return vehicles after hours almost exclusively. It's always the same thing every time, I spent about 45 minutes trying to return the truck through the app, I never can complete it. This results in charges saying I didn't return it on time, then I have to call and I'm on hold forever and ever and ever, to try to get it resolved and to clarify when I returned the truck to get my money back. The last time I called, you suggested that I make a phone call from the parking lot when I cannot use the self-service portal, I did that as well, but I spent about 30 minutes on hold, by the time she got to the phone, I was done!! Get your IT department to improve this, it's going to cause you to lose customers!!

First truck had tail light missing, and the second, replacement truck, had broken glass in the trailer. The second truck also had only 3 gallons of gas in the tank. I had to immediately fill up with 53.5 gallons of gas. When I turned the truck in, I had to ensure that I filled up the tank to at least a quarter of a tank as opposed to leaving it at 3 gallons of gas in the tank, just like I had received it.

The man that was working needed to wear a mask first of all. He was extremely rude and keep telling me he couldn't take my credit card because it was a prepaid credit card. He needs to learn the difference between a credit card and a prepaid credit card. He was just being an asshole and rude as can be. He needs to found another job because he has no people skills. Then when he give me the keys to the van he said if the key fits you have the correct truck. He was just ridiculous to deal with.

Van dashboard showed error code with service engine light and said "oil change service required" throughout my rental period? Oil needs to be changed - please inform your service department to look out for these things in the future. Overall the van performed well.

I give a 1 star because I was overcharged. I payed $44 for the pickup truck, took it back early and put a full tank of gas in it. Now I have another $55 charge out of nowhere and wasn't told why or even that they were taking it out.

It was an easy, quick pickup and return, probably the best experience with renting anything I've ever had. The place was clean, organized and the guy who helped us actually saved us some time and miles by suggesting a local place to recycle the cardboard (that was the reason we rented the truck - 4,000 lbs worth!). My only criticism is that he was not wearing a mask, even when it was mentioned. I understand not wearing one all day in the shop because there are not always customers there, but when you are directly across the counter from someone, they should take that precaution. I have an ill husband and elderly mom and cannot carry this virus to them. Personal choice is not more important than the greater good. Other than that, it was the perfect truck rental - good price, clean/well-running truck, fast and convenient drop off. 5 stars.

It was very disappointing to find that none of the employees wearing face masks despite a city of Florence mandate. I went into the store to rent a trailer, all 3 associates were behind the counter without masks or any other PPE in-sight. Nor had U-Haul provided any type of barrier between their associates and customers, like so many other retailers have. If U-Haul can disregard something as simple as instructing their associates to wear masks or providing a barrier between their customers, I must believe that they are taking similar shortcuts in the maintenance of their equipment. Unbelievable.

The customer service and hospitality at this location is impeccable. While returning the truck we met Brett and if he is the manager its the reason I'm writing a review. He did everything right and exceeded our expectation. It was a breeze and after the tough job of moving that is a welcomed experience. He and his staff are bonus worthy and deserving of any increase Uhaul has to offer. Remarkable. Thanks Brett and staff.

We had more furniture pads than we needed. Jessie was an absolute angel and was always prompt in delivering the pods for us to pack them, pick them up for storage, delivering them for us to unpack a few months later and then to pick them up just several days later when they were empty! I will recommend her and the Uhaul Pods to anyone who needs to move that doesn't want to load and unload more than one time!! The larger pod companies would not move a pod to storage then move it across town when we needed it, they would only drop at the next location unless it was moving more than 150 miles! Uhaul Pods was so convenient for a short move across town because we only needed storage for two months.

When a customer comes in to see what other equipment is needed don't spring on them last minute something else is needed. I was moving an wasn't trying to spend anymore money after spending 193 for the trailer since I had previously went there to see what was needed an no one looked at my truck but said if I have the hitch I was good nothing else needed.

Manager and assistant did not wear a mask. They told me that the truck was 1/2 full of gas; it was1/4 full. When I called back to tell them, I couldn't get through to the store. On the dash, the engine icon was on, the tire air pressure was on and the gas tank cover loose message was scrolling continuously. The manager plain out told me that he doesn't wear a mask. Covid 19 is on the rise in South Carolina.

We arrived to pick up the truck and asked why we received emails explaining the only way to complete the transaction was using the app and truck share. This was not a problem in any way and we prefered to handle things in this fashion. Unfortunately when we tried, Rideshare was disabled and we were told the truck needed to be delivered manually. It was also explained h reason being was that the truck was returned the prior evening. This was a little confusing since there were several of the same size trucks available. Upon getting into the truck, it was filthy dirty. It didn't appear to be cleaned in any way especially realizing the store hadn't even been unlocked when the service personnel went into the building. We wre in a time crunch so it was decided to just fill out the customer service form and clean the truck ourselves. To paint a picture, there seemed to be a sticky film all over everything and given we rented a truck just 3 weeks ago, it wasn't from chemicals used to clean. The floor was covered in dirt and food d debris and there was also Wendy"s sandwich wrappers and cups thrown behind the seats. Upon opening the cargo area, we found dirt and debris that I know we would have been charged a cleaning fee if we had returned the truck in the same condition. Whether the fee was charged or not to the previous renter is irrelevant. The fact that it wasn't cleaned prior to our being issued the equipment is. We also had an extra roll of unopened film wrap, large roll, that we lost the receipt on, It was explained twice that a credit could be applied on our next rental and to just bring in the rll at the time. We did so but no credit was able to be issued. We were also told to take the roll with us and the returning dealer wuld just deduct the amount. Unfortunately, the returning dealer could do nothing without the receipt. We have been dealing with this for 3 weeks. My guess is the local dealer from here saw us as a one way and we wouldn't be returning. The jokes on them because we may need one more rental of a trailer before we leave this city for good. The truck itself, drove worse than a truck. There's too much play in the steering and more than one of the tires was out of balance. This truck had no business being on the highway where the speed limit is 65 let alone 70 mph. I suffer from a spinal injury and unfortunately, because we were transporting pets in a separate vehicle, my wife couldn't drive the truck. I still can't get rid of the pain from being bounced around for 5 hours on I 95. If my scheduled pick up was 0700 and the truck was logged in late the prior evening, how could they properly turn it around but ore over, why didn't they just issue one of the other trucks. There was also no cruise control and something every truck we have rented from U Hauls in the last few years has had. It's almost impossible to purchase any new truck without the feature. As U=I mentioned, we might need a trailer in the next day or so. Given this last rental, we're looking at other options because f the vehicle that was turned over to us. I also have the unopened wrap as a crappy memento of the experience with this move. In closing, this was not the first bad encounter with this location. Uon our move here 3 summers ago, we rented a van and somehow the mileage was misentered and we had a $600 charge. I honestly can't remember the exact number we actually used but the issue has stuck with me because of what it took to get the correct mileage charge completed. I'm happy to say that it was refunded but not easily. Thank you for your time.

Overall it was average. I placed a reservation the night before for a unit and was packed and there for move in. Only to be told the unit I reserved still had merchandise from previous client. I was told by a rude African American, very unprofessional at the job that she spoke with the manager and I would have to come back after the client moved their belongings out. Of course this was not okay with me so she involved Larry which seems like he has to handle everything. Several customers waiting to be served and 3 employees, Larry being one and the only one trying to help everyone. He took me and got me a unit and I was able to move my stuff in. Thankful he was there. Oh,and I was told I got a free month for the inconvenience but they were doing that anyway for all renters....overall turned out okay.

Larry (Irby St. Florence, SC) was very helpful in finding the size storage unit to fit my needs. He walked us through the building and let us see actual units that were available and allowed me to choose between those. I wanted one on ground level, however one wasn’t available but he located one that was right at the top of the stairs with a large door for easier access to load and unload large pieces of furniture. He was very polite and courteous. He answered any questions that I had even prior to me asking them. After renting the unit, he walked us back over to explain to us how to use the access key and then showed me how to put the lock on the door that I was also able to purchase from him. Excellent experience if you’re needing a storage unit.

The manager was AWESOME, but on the last day of my storage 04/27/18 the employee was very RUDE with no customer service skills at all! Just nasty and Rude. talked me as if I was beneath him.
