Fix your reservation system. Truck wasn't available. Staff fixed the issue. Computer system was not responsive while I was there. Spent 2.5 hours at facility for an 18 hour reservation. This was an alternate pick up site because no one was at the original reservation pick up location, Marshall, NC. There needs to be better communication & signage/ text/emails about drop off proceduresâ€¦it was a mess between website problems/ logging in, & the location being busy. If you don't do this all the time it's very frustrating. None of the links worked or connected you to the right place. Also, there is some disconnect between the online r3gistration completion & check in for this location, as they could not pull up info for some customers that had already done it online. Also, wh3n told to get our vehicle pre certified for towing capabilities, the haul dealers I contacted laughed & said that wasn't something they did/ requiredâ€¦ a lot of disconnected procedures. SUCH A HASSLE. My experience with U-Haul truck rental has been good, so I expected the same for U-Box. However, only ever reserve a U-Box in this area (apparently) if you have weeks to spare for the drop off/pick up process. Our UBox drop off and pick up were both changed multiple times with last minute notice. Each time we needed to change around our work schedules yet again. When we get the box, the door doesn't close due to the door being installed improperly, and the lock that we have (bought from U-Haul, I'll add) doesn't work, so we needed to also buy a new lock that could fit. For the pick up, same story of delays and late notification. To make myself clear, the drivers themselves and some of the people on the phone were very nice and professional and attempted to help. The U-Haul website or company bears the blame for overbooking their services, not notifying in advance of changes, and offering nothing for folks who have their reservations changed on them last minute, except long wait times to speak to customer service. U-Haul should invest in their employees to incentivize folks to work there, because they seem to be understaffed. From what I experienced, the workers who are there are working harder than they should ever have to.Michelle F.

The mobile pick up process was extremely frustrating- It is not clear where to pick up keys, the equipment I "reserved" was changed to a different vehicle. Ended up having to change pick up to in person. The employee there was very helpful but could tell she was not getting enough support from Uhaul. Drop off experience was awful as well. Unfortunately, Uhaul is the only place to rent a moving truck in our area. Have had to rent a moving van every every year for the past 5 years and every time is an unpleasant experience.MICHELLE T.

Even with 12-15 people waiting in line, phone ringing, trucks/trailers coming in, the folks behind the counter are on top of their game multi-tasking with a smile making those waiting that their turn is coming soon. I know it's difficult to find good employees these days, but I would recommend that additional staff be added to support the friendly, courteous, and hardworking trying hard to keep customers coming & going. Returned vehicle during business hours. Was instructed to "use the app" in order to complete return. Had difficulty using the app. Seemed to repeat questions over and over. Could not identify my location. Continued to select the current address and the process started over. Finally seemed to be making progress and then asked for pictures of fuel level etc. Lot attendant had already moved vehicle. All the while it was pouring rain. The van smelled of stale cigarette smoke and manure. The self check-in process is laborious and illogically ordered. Once on the road - Uhaul notified me that the van was due back in 4 hours when the rental period was 12 hours. I don't use uhaul often. But between up front prices being contingent on certain factors that affect the price. A clear outline of pricing should be available outside of your rental location. I rented a car hauler to get a vehicle home. A whole 50 miles. And was charged double. Then had to go to three different locations to try and return. Which happened less than 17 miles from store rented from. Making my experience quite a hassle. I was disappointed.FRANK T.

Was charged an extra Day rental on my trailer for being 10 Minutes late but was in line for 20 minutes while they were training new employee!Gerald R.
Our trailer tire had an air leak. We had to stop every 2 hours to put air in it. We called the 24 hour emergency line and was on hold for the next available person to assist us. We hung up after 42 minutes on hold, never talking to anyone. We are disappointed we were not able to talk with someone to see about getting it fixed. Our trip home took much longer than it should have. And it rained as well, so one air fill was during a storm, we sat for over an hour so we could put air in the tire once the rain let up. We have done business with u-haul many times before without incidence. We understand situations happen but we should have been able to talk to someone when calling the 24 emergency line....it suggested we reach out via web site but we were in the mountains with no internet reception so that wasn't helpful either. UHaul had attempted to change my drop off location to a site 40 minutes away, but the manager at this location, Tracy, walked me through changing it back to their location, which saved me $150. They were slammed and over loaded on inventory and still found a way to help me out. Highly recommended.John H.

I feel bad bringing this up, but the woman working the desk was coughing constantly. At some point I think she realized people in line were uncomfortable and indicated her cough was due to allergies. Even if that is the case, given the pandemic, someone with a cough in a customer facing position should be wearing a mask or stay home until symptoms improve. I felt very uneasy in her presence due to the constant coughing. Also, when I picked up and dropped off my truck, there was a long line of people waiting and the process therefore took longer than I would have anticipated (about 30 minutes from when I arrived until I got the truck I had previously reserved online). It would be good to have more than one person working the desk. Otherwise, the experience at this location was fine.CODY G.

Upon leaving the trailer after hours, the connection of the trailer to my hitch was different than the one in the video that demonstrated how to unhook it from my vehicle. Also, maybe letting someone know they might need to bring a second person in case it's too heavy.JENNIFER C.
I have no complaints about the pickup location, my sole complaint is with Uhaul itself. I was supposed to pick up the equipment at one location, which luckily I called before I went to pick it up and they informed me that my equipment had not shown up yet. They then called me an hour and a half later and informed me that they had been working the entire time to figure out what was going on and inform me that my pickup had been moved to another location where they actually had the equipment. I made the reservation 6 days in advance, plenty of time to get things worked out. I did not end up getting my rental until hours after my initial pickup time because of this and when I did finally get to pick up the equipment, there were other customers in the store with the same story as mine and also someone who had made a reservation but the equipment was already reserved by someone else, so their whole moving plans completely went out the window because of the carelessness on Uhaul's end. This has got to be a multi-million dollar company, I am not sure how these events are possible other than blatant disregard for the customer.JACOB H.

The employees were super deluxe and helpful and fast. Something unusual happened with my first reservation where I could see it on my phone but they could not find it at their location. There were three workers at this location. One big tattooed guy stood outside, the hour & 15 minutes that I was there, texting on his phone. The other two were initially helping 2 customers. The male finished helping his customer and as I approached his counter, he turned to the female and said, â€œI am going to move some trailers. He walked past me and out the door. He did not say anything to me at all. The female was having contract problems with her customer's return. She told the male before he went out the door, â€œWell, I'm gonna be a while because I have to fix this problem.â€ He just went on out the door. The male finally came back in after a solid 30 minutes and walked around in a circle as though he was lost and confused. Finally he walked toward me and said, â€œI can go ahead and get your trailer return now,â€ as he turned and walked out the door again. U-haul used to care about customer care and service, not anymore. Between all the running around with the wrong address that U-haul provided, hold time and hang-ups, and then an 80 mile drive out of my way to return a trailer, I lost an entire day, which may not have been so bad if I hadn't had to deal with rude uncaring staff.sheila D.
Kinda slow service, don't go there if you are in a hurry at all, both picking up and dropping off, try not to wait at the desk. The folks there are nice enough but slow. Couldn't call them at all, the number I was given to call just went to a central U-Haul number and the people there had no idea what was said at the desk. I earned a month of free storage after spending over $2,000 on a truck and trailer reservation in November. I moved out a week before the end of the month but kept receiving invoices for balance due. Tried to contact the GM many times but never heard back. After the most recent email talking of collections and liens I called again and finally spoke to a service agent elsewhere. The ONLY comment I have is the storage room and the area of the building where the our space was SMELLED AWFUL! It has an odor like a rat smell. The lady in the store was so busy when I came in, helping her crew get a rental cleaned and ready for a customer, taking care of sales, helping me get a unit and even parked my truck for me to unload it conveniently and not affect other customers. The few people working were stressed, cold & very irritated. I witnessed them being very short with every person in there, acting as if we were all a bother & inconvenience during their busy day. After waiting 20-30 minutes to be set up with my storage unit (My second time coming back bc I was told they were too busy to do it earlier in the day), when I explained what I was there for, the guy literally dropped his head in frustration & audibly sighed while shaking it back & forth. They were very busy & seemingly short staffed, but it was unprofessional & extremely uncomfortable for them to take that out on every customer there.
