Truck was delivered with the hood not latched, had to pull over on the highway before it opened and smashed the windshield. Manager when attempting to check out was more preoccupied with talking about diabetes and chocolate with the two women (who had three separate cards declined) to assist them in a timely manner. Waited about fifteen minutes in line hearing story after story about how he loves Reece’s peanut butter sticks. Then when telling him the hood wasn’t latched when it was finally my turn, he showed no care at all. Barely said four words to me. Otherwise the truck was fine. Customer service was very poor. The younger gentleman that I handed the keys to was very nice and even apologized for the hood. At least someone there has some work ethic. Maybe more focus on customers past flirting with them.

There was some miscommunication here. I told the individual who was taking care of me that I would be returning around 5PM the next daty. He said there is no extra charge and it goes by mileage. I called the next day to let them know I will be returning at 5PM and now they say there’s an extra charge because it’s over 24 hours.

Rented a 26’ truck for a move. Packed truck night before move. Rained that night and roof leaked over the mom’s attic and a bunch of our things, including some mattresses got soaked. Needless to say not a good experience. Spoke to representative at return of vehicle and am now waiting to hear back via email.

Absolutely nothing - the woman working the counter was amazingly informative and helpful while I was unloading my truck she was able to assist me in correcting a drop off location mixup and explained the details of the first month free rent program. She truly made moving the week of Christmas way less stressful!

My first and only experience with U-Haul was not a good one. The woman at the U-Haul counter was friendly when I was picking up the 10' box truck, and very UNfriendly when I returned it two hours later. "SEE THE YOUNG MAN OUTSIDE!" she barked. I told her I just wanted a final tally of the charge. "WHATEVER HE SAYS IT IS - THAT'S WHAT IT IS!!" The young man outside handed me a receipt with a breakdown of the charges. The bill was higher than I expected. I saw the grouchy woman again and asked her what is a "Safe Trip" Fee and why am I being charged it since I paid $14.00 for insurance. She looked at the receipt and said "I have no idea what that is. I'll put the $5.00 charge back on your card as soon as I have a chance." Needless to say, that money never went back on my card. I find it hard to believe that this woman is handing out receipts all day every day and has no idea what's on them. I think U-Haul is just nickle-and-diming customers with "Safe Trip Fees" and "Environmental Fees" and other charges. It cost me $73.00 to rent a small truck for two hours. The whole experience was unpleasant. I would not use U-Haul again, and I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone.

Kim was very helpful when we rented the truck and the storage unit. Very happy with the experience.

I took a picture of the mileage on the truck prior to leaving the parking lot. My trip took only 15 miles round trip. When I return the truck with a full tank of gas, box of the truck was swept clean and no additional damage was reported. The U-Haul employee stated I went over the 20 miles that I stated that I would be putting on the truck. Good thing that I took a picture of the mileage prior to leaving the lot. I’ve rented a U-Haul truck in the passed and notice that the employees miss represent the actual mileage that are on the truck and try to charge you for the mileage you did not do. My best advice would be to make sure that you actually take a picture of the mileage with your iPhone prior to leaving the parking lot. Other then that, I would have the U-Haul employee and customer review the mileage together and both sign off on the mileage of the truck prior to leaving the parking lot so they are both on the same game.

We reserved a car carrier from the 800 number. They had no clue which franchise had. No fault to are pickup location. Inventory and knowledge of who has what failed.

I had problems when using the mobile UHAUL pickup. Went in store to ask for help and received extremely poor customer service. One employee was very rude and uninterested in helping at all and did not suggest that there was another employee that would be with me shortly. Employee seemed annoyed and disinterested in helping me specifically because I chose the mobile option. I also found the mobile pickup instructions were not clear with what I needed to do and was left without onsite customer service for an extended period of time. Not only will I not use mobile pickup in the future but I will not return to this specific site and question whether I will use UHAUL in the future. Computers were down causing 1.5 hour wait. Local store had absolutely no idea how long they would be down. Someone working on the matter at the national level should let the locals know approximately how long to fix so people arent standing in line for no reason.

I was on the uhaul lot this morning at 8:00 and was having trouble signing into my account online. I scheduled to pick up a vehicle before the store opened at 9:00 am. A woman who works at u haul was outside the building working on some of the uhaul vehicles,earlier than 9:00 ,and her name is Kim Mansuetti . Kim noticed that I was there for sometime and asked if she could help. When she realized I was having difficulty signing into my account, she took me inside ( and the store is technically closed until 9am on Sunday) and took care of my reservation and sent me on my way. Kim was incredibly helpful and extremely kind to me. I asked her if she left her angel wings at home ! She was completely my angel this morning! Moving day can be hectic and it was starting out that way, but thanks to Kim, it was smooth sailing :). Thank you! Karen Boch

Customer service needs help when it comes to communication stood in store for over 20 minutes to return a truck just to be told I could do it myself which should have been communicated when I pulled up as staff member began cleaning the truck no communication at all

1 I've never been restricted to only 6 hrs when renting in the past 2 I spent 45 mins in line to get my truck. Absolutely no reason more employees weren't available to help with guest needing storage and other services unrelated to picking up reservations. 3 self check in return was a nightmare. I'm not paying for a service to have to do uhauls job upon return. I also waited 45 mins to return the truck before being direct back outside of to have to wait again to have access to their "black phone"

I would NOT recommend UHaul to anyone. You managed to make a stressful day exponentially more stressful. I made a reservation over a month in advance for an 8:00 am pick-up for a 15 foot truck. The day before I was contacted and was told it would be available at 11:30 am, only to be contacted shortly after thereafter and told it would be available at 12:30 pm. When I called the regional office I was told there was nothing they could do. On the day of the reservation as I was pulling into the Haul location at 12:30 pm I was called by UHaul stating they could have a truck for me at 3:30 pm out of a completely different location a half hour away! They could have a smaller truck available for me at may requested location in a half hour which would require me to make multiple trips. What is the point of the reservation system if you can not commit to the requested time, requested location, or requested truck? Very poor service and I would strongly encourage anyone NOT to use your service. That being said the woman at the counter at the Cumberland location was very helpful as the problem lies with your poorly structured business model.

The person at the counter was abrupt, rude and exhibited zero customer service at both pick up and drop off. I would NOT use this location again due to her attitude. Poor reflection on the U-Haul brand.

The employees were rude. They didn’t want to help connect the auto transport until I said I was aware that I could get this service for a fee. They then joked about giving the job to two people who had never done it before. Not once did they come out to inspect the job of these two “rookies”. I will not ever use U-Haul again for car transport equipment. Overall the entire experience was miserable and more difficult than necessary. They also split my reservation between stores about 15 miles apart from each other and never notified me until I called the day before my rental date to confirm pick up times. The customer services is awful and needs major improvement.
