Uhaul was easy and very professional from customer service to the onsite location (employees) to the drop off location (owner) 4 hours away. The licensed Uhaul dealer at 809 Auto Sales in Allentown was also a huge help in securing my cargo trailer & getting me to the direct pick up location on MacArthur Rd in Whitehall. Generally speaking, the experience was adequate. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from using this location, as the equipment end of it worked out fine, and many of the staff seemed knowledgable and helpful. I just had a less than stellar experience picking up my vehicle, which may not be the norm. There were technical difficulties while picking up my pre-scheduled rental, which made for a 30 minute process. While I don't fault the business for dealing with tech issues, at no point did my representative communicate with me directly about what was going on or explain what part of the process we were at/I was waiting for. The rep doesn't need to be cheerful or friendly, but they should be communicative with the customer about the process. That way, you avoid a customer standing at the counter, already stressed about the moving process, being uncertain and feeling dismissed while patronizing the business. This was my first time renting a U-Haul, and I really would've appreciated any information about what was going on between asking for my license, telling me to sign, and giving me a handout at the end. To the rep's credit, they did highlight the relevant information I would need about gas and mileage before sending me off. The vehicle I picked up was clean, the drop off process was efficient, and the person who took the keys and checked us out was far more communicative. Maybe the initial representative was having a bad day, or was new, or not fully trained, but a simple "we're having some technical difficulties" spoken directly to the customer you're helping would have been far better than trying to figure out what was going on from overhearing other reps speaking to their customers.Jenna R.

The pick up truck I rented was filthy the windows were very dirty all around inside!!! and pet hair was all over the cab and seats as well. I thoroughly cleaned it myself before I continued use! The customer service was great & rates were good!Mark D.
The loading ramp was a nightmare to use. It required 3 people to get it back in the locked position to drive. I also ordered and paid for a dozen moving blankets and a dolly but got all the way home to realize it was never put in the truck. The lack of both made moving very difficult.Amanda N.

I had to sweep out the trailer before using. Very dissapointed that the manager would hook up a unit before cleaning. Also when I returned the trailer the person outside basically ignored me did not acknowledge me as where to park the trailer. I smelled smoke while disconnecting the trailer and realized their garbage can was on fire. I had to walk over to the vehicle he was in and yelled a couple of times for him. He ignored that until I banged on the hood of the van and said your garbage can is on fire! This was fairly close to the propane. Not a very good experience for a frequent customer.Robert S.

The two people working on 2/26 while very busy, were on top of things. I have never rented a storage unit, they made everything EASY. On top of that even though they were obviously busy I had prompt and friendly service. After my reservation, and while driving from Buffalo to Albany, my friend looked up some pricing on self storage. There were some very attractive deals from you competitors. As much i like doing business with the Uhaulfor many years as much i was disappointed with the service in the past couple weeks. Although i like to recognize the branch manager Nicholas Diotte but to remind him that not only due covid19 but and blue code weather condition in NYS eviction are prohibited. Yes, landlords taking advantage after federal rental aid was distributed and still evict tenants but unfortunately i do not meet that category because never have been late and statement that they don't want me see at that location classify as discrimination and insult my sensitive personality, and action as blockage of my formerly rented unit what prevented to enter unit #1317 till yesterday, 2/19/2022, is classified as retaliation. Yes, i can't file small court claim while i was "tenant" but now i have green light for that including local PD twisting my both wrists. Otherwise, i am pleased as much not please apparently the others. Have a wonderful president day celebration and make sure rental equipment will be clean for the farther renters because that location has 2 new employees who do not much and these are women what would be unacceptable to see toilet filthy and flooring too. I am glad that credit administration in Phoenix, AZ received my payment in full for the equipment and my financial advisor confirmed that too as well as Michael Kimmer??? There were a few things I didn't like. When you call your local Uhaul office number, no one ever answers. You have to drive to the place to talk to someone there. The gate remote I was given was broken and no longer opened the gate. To access my unit after the office closed was not an option because I now needed a code. I eventually got a code and was able to access my unit at my convenience. Whenever I was in the store to rent a truck etc. the staff was always nice and friendly. My only other issue was online payment. For some reason my balance did not show up until the day it was due and after. I paid my first payment late because of that. The store manager was nice enough to waive the late fees and help me. Aside from not wanting to pay $130/month for my unit anymore, my stay was nice enough. I had great experience with the guys at that location but customer service lady named Ashley who was nasty on the phone last Monday i would refer to extra customer loyalty program classes or just give another task to do like housekeeping or cleaning instead. But an attitude in conversation to value customer like me just tells me that she will be poorly skilled in cleaning either. The gate access code was never updated to the code of my choice. Instead I was told I could use a different code that didn't have my name associated. When I had trouble with the gate code, I unfortunately called and was transferred to a central operator who said she'd message the local office.
