I pulled up Under The Canopy, a lady came out and sad quotes there's a customer's in front of you so and quote what does that mean exactly? The gentleman who eventually came out to check me in was very polite and helpful. I think it is very rude to expect a customer to wait to get a piece of equipment on a tack from their vehicle. I was reminded that if I went ahead and just detached the dolly from my vehicle, the lady said that I would be charged a $20 drop off fee. Totally unacceptableALEXANDER R.

This was where my original GUARANTEED rental location had to send me after my trailer was NOT AVAILABLE! I had even called the day before and made sure the trailer was actually there and had the rental Prepaid and info uploaded to the UHaul website. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH 9202 E. MAIN ST. MESA, AZ SHELL STATION. The ONLY reason I chose that location in the first place was because it was a guaranteed location. DIDN"T DO ANY GOOD TO HAVE A GUARANTEED!!Lianne D.

Have two people in the office when they are expecting people to come in for rental reservation. I had to wait as a couple were trying to figure out what boxes for moving. I waited over 15-20 minutes. Where I just needed a few minutes to get my rental. There was two when I got back to drop off and it went much quicker.JEAN D.

My only complaint was that I was not told I would have to go on line and check in my Uhaul when using the self drop off box. I was charged 20.00 because I was not properly informed what I needed to do. I was told to just leave the keys and paperwork in the box.lisa L.

Recommendation is a yes with hesitation. The employees were VERY unprofessional & talked poorly about other clients in front of everyone. Directions were not clear or understood & price was more than online offered without explanation as to why. I needed the trailer bad enough that I paid the difference with FRUSTRATION!!!! The truck ran great. However the front of the truck by the overhang leaked when it was raining and water got all over some of our boxes and a mattress. Also, I paid for moving pads that were not in the truck when I picked it up. Additionally, the military discount of 20% that was promised was not applied. My problem with the experience is that it was a one way rental but my dropoff location was at the place I rented it. Once at my destination it was near impossible to find the proper drop off. No way to do it on your website, and a 55 minute wait on call to customer service so, essentially, no customer service. EXTREMELY frustrating. Maybe more customer service reps are in order.Jean L.

The online was so easy to use. The people were very and felt bad that 6 out of the 12 blankets were wet and could only give us 6 but we understood and they apologized. Taking back the trailer at the Layton location the guy was so friendly and helpful.Robert D.

Our reservation was moved to a different location and we did not get the equipment we asked for. Getting in and out of this place was more than a challenge. Our rep Andrea was great, the only good part of the whole experience. Another rep Heather was so rude to the man in front of us I had to walk away to not give her a piece of my mind. She was awful to him. There was another young lady working very hard as it was a busy day and they were definitely understaffed. The location change was frustrating, the over crowded lot was terrible to maneuver. Heather was the literally the worst customer service rep I have EVER encountered. When I asked why the equipment that I reserved over 3 weeks ago wasn't available, I was told "I don't know". When I asked who is responsible I was told: "I don't know". When I asked what Uhauls policies were regarding notifying me, I was told " I don't know". Followed by " do you want to cancel your reservation" each time I asked a question. It is obvious that you are so busy, that customer care doesn't matter. I made it a point to tell everyone that I ran into today about my awful experience with Uhaul. First truck had the check engine light come on as soon as i pulled out. I turned around and brought it right back. The gal that had processed the reservation was doing check-ins. I explained that the light was on. She said â€œIt probably just needs an oil change it's fineâ€. I explained i did not want to drive it with the light on for liability reasons. Her response was a flippant â€œjust dispute it, you already drove it off the lot.â€ I told her I was not going to drive it or take any responsibility for it as it was rented that way. She huffed and responded â€œthen go talk to a manager!â€ I went back in, waited 30+ mins to talk to someone who immediately swapped the rental out and was surprised that the truck had been rented out as â€œthat truck has been in garage for work for a while, I didn't know it was even available yetâ€. I was supposed to have the rental for two hrs, but due to the issues above I had to rush with the pick up to get the truck back on time. Very disappointed with the rental and experience.Carrie M.

Too many billing issues. I paid a month in advance for May 2021 via a phone call from Chris saying my account was past due (even though I set my account up on recurring twice and money wasn't taken out properly) and when I arrived yesterday May 23rd I was locked out of my storage room. This has happened twice during my 6 month rental period. Lock should have been removed when I made payment to Chris early May. Thank God the office was open. Reps are not helpful, unfriendly, not trained properly. Originally I reserved a 10x12 back in November 2020 and when I arrived to rent truck and get storage room I found out they gave my unit away and was given a 10x10 storage unit that had broken door. Had to request that it be repaired. Staff was rude and acted like they didn't care and was told I could move my contents to another unit. Wow... May 23rd my car was hit by Uhaul driver in parking lot at Broadway location. Again, inadequate training! Staff should not have been driving a Uhaul truck without proper training. We are leaving U-Haul because of our experience with this particular storage facility. We have repeatedly left messages for the manager, Jeff, to call us but he never did, we've repeatedly gone into the facility, but we can rarely catch him. The door to our unit building was broken when we first moved in and it took WEEKS to get it fixed. We tried to stress to the young man, who was behind the store counter, how important it was to get it fixed and have our belongings secure especially since it's not gated. His response to our concerns? He said that they had cameras that would record the thief's face and hopefully the police could catch him. Two things are problematic with this answer. 1. With COVID-19, most people are wearing a mask so the police couldn't identify him. 2. We didn't want our things to be stolen in the first place and the chances of getting them back, and in good condition, would be about nil. Couldn't believe we were having that conversation... After telling him that if it wasn't fixed within the next few days, I would be calling corporate...it finally got fixed. So... these are the reasons why we have moved our things out of U-Haul and moved them into a cleaner, gated, and well-maintained facility, Extra Space Storage. It' even quite a bit farther away, but it's worth the peace of mind.lynn p. | Overall Experience

There was a mix up with my unit when I first was there. I was supposed to be air conditioning the first 3 weeks I was there it was almost 80 degrees. When I left I had to take my lock off, they do not pro-rate if you leave early or stay late so that is concerning. When I left an employee with short shorts, was sitting there eating her yogurt, I asked her for a close out receipt, seemed like that bothered her because she had to stop eating. The location on East Mesa all the employees were tremendously helpful and beyond nice. My first time moving out on my own ...paying everything myself. I was late returning the U-haul truck and the fee was waved. Also Im so glad I went there East Main st. In Mesa.... Seriously the owner of the trucks is super cool understanding of the situation I was in ...told me to take my time. My experience was less than optimal. The prices on the wall did not reflect the price I actually paid. I was paying 70+ for a 5×10 whereas now I am paying 37 with less hassle to access my unit. The security system would not work correctly and I had to make repeated attempts to gain access. I do however have two positive remarks: Harvest did a good job installing my hitch and the manager was helpful, but there was one staff member who had an attitude and bad choice in hair color. I will choose a different U-Haul location in the future for any rental trailer that I may need. Delpreet was helpful in reducing my monthly fee as well, but I found a better location that is more reasonable. So, price and ease of access were the two main factors in my relocation of my equipment.Joel C. | Overall Experience
