The customer service was terrible, the agent was on the phone and watching videos the entire time, she was not very helpful and acted like i was bothering her when I asked questions. I wish I could give Wayne and his team 6 stars! They each directly helped me with an experience that didn't start out great. When I arrived at the shop, my reservation had been located at a different lot - even with my confirmation text at this spot. But Wayne immediately did everything he could to make sure it worked out for me! He called and had the reservation transferred back to his shop and had me in a van soon. When my trip to the city dump turned out a bust, the team helped me rent a locker till I can make it to the other dump. I swear each person there helped me with some question I had! They made a really stressful day better and helped me. I am using them again to finish my planned trip to the dump. And I will use them again ANY time I need to rent a truck or van for hauling. I was impressed with how easy the pick-up experience was using the U-Haul app. The van was essentially brand new and in very good condition. I also had to extend the rental period by a few hours and the person I spoke with at your 1-800# was very helpful. Thanks for making the experience so easy!Brett P.

The staff member who attached my trailer said the tire pressures were just checked but that I was free to check myself. Recommended pressure is 65 PSI; I found 2 PSI in one tire and 5 in the other, which is a recipe for high speed disaster. (The staff member then added air). To top it off, although I opted out of supplemental insurance when I checked in online, the clerk added it again (which significantly increased my estimated charges) until I insisted it be removed.John R.

This was a one way rental - I think uhaul should have a prorated charge if returned in <3 days since you turn around and rent it again when it's returned early. In the long run, it would have been cheaper to rent a moving company. The 3 day rental charge with uhaul doesn't make financial sense coupled with wear and tear on us. Uhaul should rethink this policy if it wants to be competitive. I have used uhaul MANY times but will rethink this in the future - the $ just don't work.Mary N.

The van I rented smelled disgusting like someone was carrying a horse or dirty animals, and nobody cleaned it. In addition, it was full of mosquitoes. We were planning to return the van in four hours and could not handle the smell for more than an hour. Lastly, when I made the reservation online, the total cost with the insurance included was $49.01. But when she checked in, the price was $50 without insurance. When I asked why the charge was different on the online reservation, the personnel did not explain, just that the actual cost was $50 without insurance. I won't be coming back.Patricia R.

My reservation was changed to this location the day before my pick up, creating extra effort/arrangements on my part to coordinate getting there. Check in was very quick, staff not overly helpful but I have rented before so I didn't have questions. The truck needed mechanical maintenance, transmission was making a loud noise, yard employee said it was safe to drive or I can switch trucks, was in a hurry so kept it. Reported maintenance issue when I dropped off the truck. Also window washing fluid was empty and windshield was dirty.KAREN M.

Used 24 hour drop-off service, but no sign indicating where keys should be dropped off (which was a a building that was not contiguous with the drop-off truck lot. This is a problem at night because hard to locate key drop-off location. However, quick handling of the processing the next day.Dennis Y.
Having the trucks ready for pick up. I showed up an hour after my pick up time and the truck was blocked in by other trucks, so I wasn't able to fully inspect the exterior of the truck for damages. I also had to wait for help in order to access the truck which made the pick up process much longer than anticipated. This was a bit frustrating as I chose to do the pick up through the mobile app, and the experience didn't seem to be any different than just going to the counter and having a representative do the pick up processing.Emily C.

Returning trailer was not a smooth process. Trucks that were returned backed up and blocked the entrance making returning the trailer difficult because I could not enter. The right turn signal on the trailer had to be fixed before I went out.Jorge N.
I was surprised that there was no way to plug in my phone to keep it charged up during my trip. I was on the road for over 6 hours and luckily just made it before my phone died-I would have had no idea how to get to my destination without it so it was stressful. I was also surprised that there was no EZ Pass transponder-I don't carry cash and had to fly through a bunch of tolls and am sure it will cost me a lot more than it would have if you had provided a transponder. Those were two significant stressors I didn't need that day.Joshua E.
When I was dropping off my truck rental, a man helped instruct me where to park. He said he was being contracted to help customers park their rentals if they are returned "after store hours." That all sounded fine, but afterwards he asked us to help him and his personal endeavors by sending him money over paypal, venmo, etc. It seemed unprofessional and he was not happy when I declined. I question his presence as a non-uhaul employee that is asking customers for additional payments on the side.Ryan M.

I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.Rebecca C. | Overall Experience

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff.
