My reservation was changed to this location the day before my pick up, creating extra effort/arrangements on my part to coordinate getting there. Check in was very quick, staff not overly helpful but I have rented before so I didn't have questions. The truck needed mechanical maintenance, transmission was making a loud noise, yard employee said it was safe to drive or I can switch trucks, was in a hurry so kept it. Reported maintenance issue when I dropped off the truck. Also window washing fluid was empty and windshield was dirty.KAREN M.

Used 24 hour drop-off service, but no sign indicating where keys should be dropped off (which was a a building that was not contiguous with the drop-off truck lot. This is a problem at night because hard to locate key drop-off location. However, quick handling of the processing the next day.Dennis Y.
Having the trucks ready for pick up. I showed up an hour after my pick up time and the truck was blocked in by other trucks, so I wasn't able to fully inspect the exterior of the truck for damages. I also had to wait for help in order to access the truck which made the pick up process much longer than anticipated. This was a bit frustrating as I chose to do the pick up through the mobile app, and the experience didn't seem to be any different than just going to the counter and having a representative do the pick up processing.Emily C.
Customer service needs to be more collaborative. I did reserve 17' in K st but 2 days before I get a sms saying that I had to take the Truck in Bladenburg st which was far for us. We ended up to take a 15' truck which resulted enough. Overall it is a great option for moving stuff. GraciasHillary H.

These guys should just keep doing the same and whenever they believe a change would increase services for all concerned then implementing it would be awesome. Returning trailer was not a smooth process. Trucks that were returned backed up and blocked the entrance making returning the trailer difficult because I could not enter. The right turn signal on the trailer had to be fixed before I went out.Jorge N.
I was surprised that there was no way to plug in my phone to keep it charged up during my trip. I was on the road for over 6 hours and luckily just made it before my phone died-I would have had no idea how to get to my destination without it so it was stressful. I was also surprised that there was no EZ Pass transponder-I don't carry cash and had to fly through a bunch of tolls and am sure it will cost me a lot more than it would have if you had provided a transponder. When I was dropping off my truck rental, a man helped instruct me where to park. He said he was being contracted to help customers park their rentals if they are returned "after store hours." That all sounded fine, but afterwards he asked us to help him and his personal endeavors by sending him money over paypal, venmo, etc. It seemed unprofessional and he was not happy when I declined. On a busy Sunday morning, you should have at least 2 people checking in people as there were 12 people in line when I arrived at 9:05 and I did not leave until 9:45. When I left, there were still 10 people behind me. I only went 5 miles with my truck but it seemed to be in fairly poor condition--maybe I was given this truck because I said i was only going 10 miles in total. Otherwise, the truck was clean and the staff were very helpful at the location.Kyle M.

The customer service rep did not receive me well she barely spoke and did not explain the steps involved for the rental. When she did communicate it was hard to hear her and no eye contact. The ramp from the storage facility is outdated and difficult to maneuver items.Kendal F.
Reserved car for 24/7 pickup through app for 8am. The app did not work and I could not pick up my truck until the location opened. There was a huge line and did not get my truck until closer to 9:40. Don't know much as he scanned in the vin or something and told us we were good to go. One guy and lots of drop offs. I didn't get a final receipt or anything. He could say whatever he wants about condition of the truck and I'd have no recourse. (We dropped it off spotless and in perfect condition) just makes me nervous. See my comment regarding the pick-up location and the lack of availability of one piece of equipment -- and the failure to reduce the rental cost based on non-availability. The returning location said that they would "take care of" the need for a refund, but this has not happened yet.Brian M.

The lady who helped us in the AM had extremely poor customer service, communication and overall professionalism was non existent. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes for someone to move another truck out of our way. Returning the truck was even worse as 2 employees were irate at us. In addition very rude man who accused us of not folding blankets, which we did as well as a rude comment about ensuring we pick up our trash, which we had none. Employees were super nice and were super helpful and considerate. U-Haul however needs to invest in their vehicles to ensure they are running properly. The man who was guiding people out of the lot helped me maneuver out of the comically tight parking space, and then made me listen to a speech about how little he makes and lives in government housing and then ASKED ME FOR MONEY. I understand the desperation of his situation, but asking a customer for money after they shelled out a bunch to rent a car is not appropriate. He was incredibly rude about my inexperience with driving the 9' van and kept asking me why "I couldn't figure it out" and said, "you got a license, don't you?" Then when I returned to drop off the car, he "helped" me park it but kept mocking my anxiety over maneuvering the car without great visuals of the periphery and bumpers. I scowled and retorted that I wasn't used to driving such a big van with minimal rearview vision, and as I walked away he said "damn b*tch, f*ck." Never coming to UHaul again.Simone C.

Storefront separated from drop off zone by another business. Son got there just before me and the male employee at drop off yelled at him to move. When told I was just around the corner and he was waiting from me he was told tough, drive around until she is here. There is no place at drop off for someone to wait for driver to retrieve driver and belongings (we had our personal moving equipment in the rear of the UHaul). Personnel could have been more polite and a waiting location would be helpful. He could have politely directed my son to the storefront parking but only yelled at him. I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.Rebecca C. | Overall Experience

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff. It was concerning as we don't know what it was and whether it causes a health risk. The office staff were unhelpful and just said - we should have gotten insurance.
