Benjamin AI picked up a truck at 4:40pm for 4 hours and organised a storage unit at the same time. Asked if access 4 hours later was an issue (it had been in the past and I wanted to avoid that again) was told it wasn’t an issue. Arrived back at uhaul at 7:30pm to find I had no access via the man door or the vehicle door, I was only able to access my unit due to another customer being onsite and having the man door open. I had to unload the 10ft truck I rented at the front door and move everything through the man door to access the unit. I did have after hours access last year after a similar issue. If access after 7pm is no longer available please let people renting vehicles later in the day know that they won’t be able to drop off after that time. If the other customers hadn’t have been there I’m not sure what I would have had to do.

Dallas HI did not receive the trailer I ordered and was given a larger one. This was manageable but definitely not preferred. The attendant asked why I wanted the smaller trailer and I replied with comfort of driving. I was then given paperwork for a larger trailer. I was not impressed with this outcome but I didn't have time to worry and made the trailer/packing work. In the future I will be giving myself more time to select a trailer I need not "what works".

Sean NI rented a truck a couple blocks away from where I live. When I showed up at the location they told me my truck was at another location 30 minutes away…. It was a moving day for me and lost an hour just driving the truck to my place and another hour when I had to return the truck because they told me I could not return it closer to my place. I guess it is a good way to scam people since you charge on the km…. Service was horrible and I will not use your service again.

I have never, ever had to wait for a credit on my debit card and I am in need of this refund to cover my car insurance due today. I am not impressed with this outcome. I await to hear from you in regards to this matter.

The back was not swept out from the previous user, and there was tobacco sitting in some water in the handle of the driver's door. While waiting to pick up the truck I was renting, there was only one person processing customers, when there were visibly other staff.

pramod jTHESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!! Everything I paid for online wasn’t available when I got to the facility so I had to pay more because what I needed wasn’t there. I paid for a storage unit, movers and a truck. The movers were Ukrainian boys that got off a bus and couldn’t drive so I had to drive the biggest truck you guys have. The size of unit I paid for online wasn’t available Also. When I went to cancel the unit and move my stuff out, the same thing happened. What I paid for online wasn’t what I got and ended up being a lot more money. Your website is horrible and send you false quotes so when you go to pay it’s much more than anticipated. I will never use U-Haul again and made sure to tell everyone we know not to as well. I had a completely horrible experience both times. Also, the customer service people spoke in their own language in front of me, laughed because they could see I was getting upset and then spoke English while explaining why I’m paying so much with a smirk on her face. It was very upsetting and rude.

The most concerning issue I have is when I completed my move with my truck into my storage unit 2299 and 2301, upon leaving, exiting the storage facility my brother was in front of me waiting for the exit overhead door to open and the light to turned from red to green, once green he proceeded to exit and I was behind him in my u haul truck and I noticed as he was exiting the overhead garage door started coming down at a fast speed and dropped down on my brothers black Toyota Tacoma and caught the antenna and damaged it and dented the roof of his vehicle. This kind of malfunction should never happen with a service that requires vehicles to drive in and out daily, this is a very unfortunate event to happen to my brother as I witnessed it and he is also a storage unit owner within your faculty storage #2297. As customers we hope and expect this accident will be dealt with in a profesional manner.

Even though we were up to date with Rent our pad lock had been cut off, and our personal items left unsecured. I complain to the management who said they would look into it, View the camera surveillance. I also asked for compensation on my expensive lock. I was informed from management that they were able to pull any details from their camera surveillance. I truly believe they cut my lock and then refused to acknowledge their mistake as well as not informing me of the mistake where I could’ve come in and put a padlock on the roll up door to secure my personal items.

The hood was popped open, but because of the amount of snow on the vehicle, I could not tell until the next day when most of the snow melted. The truck would smell of burning rubber. The outside rear brake light stayed on, regardless of what I tried to do. I later wondered if this was because the hood was not latched. I rented a dolly to move something heavy, but it is not clear in the material that I reviewed that the 10 foot truck does not have a ramp. Nobody advised me of this when I picked up the truck either.

Keith HTruck was given to us with passenger airbag turned off even though we told them to note it before we left in case something happened and insurance needed the information. So the service airbag message was on the dash the entire trip. The steering alignment was also off which made driving difficult at times.

Kevin Mthe trailer i rented had a lock on the back door, and then the latch broke off the trailer so i was unable to lock the back door on my trip.
Travis CParking trailers 2 inches from one another without room to move forward or back, making it almost impossible to get the trailer out without damage. Trailer was full of snow ( hasn’t snowed in days here ) without it being cleaned off, obstructing lights on trailer.

John MWe live in Canada there was no block heater in the truck therefore we had to waste a day getting the truck to start in minus 50 not a pleasant situation everything was totally frozen, we had to move all our plans a day ahead. As far as clean it was very good.

We had to unload a Ubox and reload it into a U-Haul truck in December. We were able to do it inside the shop. Everything was ready when we arrived. The front desk agent was very helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend this U-Haul location.

You, the manager, are responsible for getting mail out in an expeditious time frame. Not 2 weeks after letters are dated. Thanks for the added stress on me and my wife. We have spoken to a lawyer, have been told we have grounds for small claims. We will not recommend anyone to use u-haul. This is the second time U-Haul has taken it threatened to take our belongings. We had a storage locker in NE. Moved from full locker to smaller locker, had name, address, phone number on file, u-haul decided that sending belongings to auction was better rhsn contacting us. We had about 5000 stolen by u-haul. Never again. You are a wimp, can't even return calls. Your staff is lacking, both in numbers and education.

But when I stopped by they said it was first come first served, so I presumably would have lost the space or had no where to take it. As they were almost fully booked. And this rental facility said if I didn't book now I wouldn't be ensured to have anything, so I booked on the 22nd of August. Which also means I will have to store the stuff there for another 10+ days, so I am paying a full month for 10 days of rental space. Seems very misleading to me.

When I arrived with a full moving truck on the day I scheduled to move into my unit, that I had reserved months prior, they said no units that size were available. After 30-40 mins they led me to a brand new wing of units still under construction. One unit was available to move into. The entire area was under construction so moving into the unit was frustrating and not very convenient. Moving out was easier. I phoned to ask questions about notifying the facility of my move out date, reserving parking for a large truck, and rent for the month. I was told they can't help me. No need to notify, they don't take reservations for parking, first come first serve, and they only charge monthly. We moved out March 3rd and was charged for the entire month. The moving truck did not fit into the building so we had to trolly everything from the unit down the entire length of the corridor. I had friends and hired movers to help. The washroom facilities were not cleaned and had no toilet paper or hand towels. When we were done I read on the website that I had to clean and sweep my own unit before check out. The guy at the front desk had to check the unit before I left. So the employees offer no services other than answering the phone. Basically 100% self serve for a premium price. I felt there was no value in the product. I will be contacting customer service to be refunded my March payment. There has been no effort into solving any problems I had presented and every question was answered with "no, we don't do that" or "sorry, store policy". I won't be using Uhaul for my moving or storage needs in the future.

The facilities themselves are clean and well maintained, but my unit should have been covered up if there was going to be that kind of work being done. The staff are all good and seem to know their jobs, I've only had one bad encounter, and it was just because the employee was far more interested in her personal phone than helping me that day, but everyone else is great and have always been very helpful and knowledgeable. I'm all done with uhaul now so I wasn't going to bring any of this up, but you asked, so I answered. Thanks, have a great day.

This change has not been indicated on the answering service or the google profile, both of which still indicate access until 10pm on Saturday. Imagine my surprise and inconvenience when I showed up at 6:30 with a loaded truck, and am told that access ends at 7:00pm. Luckily I had a second day of rental on the truck and was able to come back Sunday. This is my only complaint with this facility. The staff are all very friendly, very helpful, and readily available to assist.

But the site said access to storage unit from 5AM - 10:00 PM Sundays. Very disappointing when you book and reserve a storage unit. Arrive with a full moving truck and then they tell you you din’t have the unit and they close in 15 minutes

Rain K | Overall ExperienceThe place is under construction and is very inconvenient to load/unload, the exit overhead door wasn’t available and I had to back the trailer up the the unload location instead of just driving forward, I had my storage unit on second floor and the elevator was not working, looked like they didn’t care getting it fixed right away and a lot of people including me had to bring all the heavy loads on the stairs, they never brought a technician to fix the elevator and I probably spent 3 more extra hours just because the elevator was not working.

I made sure with the lady who checked me out that I have emptied and took all my stuff in the storage. I told her that the unit was open and unlocked as I have taken my lock and my keys with me. I asked her to check and inspect to make sure that everything are ok BUT she said everything should be ok. I know that was NOT the normal policy as I have rented with UHaul many times but she said no need to checked my rented unit. So to make the story short she have closed my agreement and made sure that I am not getting charge and she said all was done and the account was closed. Three hours later the lady called me up and asked me to come back to open my rental unit because it was closed. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED I told her that I have my locked and my keys with me somebody must have locked the unit without communicating with their fellow co workers. I am not happy how they deal with my situation.

After showing the staff my emailed confirmation, they pulled up our information without issue. I was sincerely disappointed in this, and it required me to find a charger so that I could pull up my emailed confirmation, and added unnecessary stress. After checking in, we were sent to a locker that already had a lock on it. I then had to wait in line again, to inform them that this locker was not vacant. An unreasonable amount of time was spent addressing these issues. The unit itself was advertised as ample storage for a studio-1 bedroom apartment. It was not, but at the stage this was realized we were unwilling to wait on staff to find an alternative. Positives: The unit was clean & accessible, and there were various dollies that customers could use to move their items.

The exit door in the storage loading and unloading doc was broken the manager just allowed people to drive in. This created a very dangerous environment for inexperienced u-haul drivers. We had to organize amongst ourselves and a kind stranger was able to help us back the u-haul through. The only solution we were given was to fold the mirrors in which makes you unable to see at all. Him and his co worker were no where to be found when we needed assistance because they directed us to the back of the building where all doors were locked. I was not satisfied with the way the operation was being handled. There needed to be more direction and frankly a person who knows how to do their job.

It took an hour for the staff to figure out what to do? A lot of unhappy customers were present and one of them saw the door problems yesterday and went back home because the door wouldn't open and today again the door locked. I don't know why the door lock is not repaired and replaced. I'm hesitant to go after office hours because chances are the door will be locked and I'll not be able to access my storage. Apart from the door issue, 1 staff for 8 customers, it was an excellent experience overall.

We arrived at 7pm on move in day and when checking in for the units the customer service person never once mentioned you closed at 8pm. We had already mentioned we had to return our truck at a different location by 9pm so the person knew we felt we were going to be crunched for time moving in. Only when we were being showed to the units at 7:15pm did she mention that you closed at 8pm. This left us 45 minutes to unload a 20 foot truck. There was an electrician doing work at that time so we had to navigate around him as well. The payment for one of the units was not processed on the night we moved in. Three days later I received a delinquent fee notice. I then struggled to get in contact with someone who could help me process the payment and something went wrong saying I owed over $1400 for one month rather than $114. It took an entire month to sort it out. On June 30 I put a new credit card on file for both units. On July 3 I received delinquent notice for both units for July. Then on July 7 my credit card was charged WITH the $10 x 2 delinquent fee. I will NEVER be using u-haul self storage again. Trying to resolve any dispute through this location is frustrating to say the least and ends in unreturned phone calls and emails. Ultimately I had to phone the 1-800 number and have someone personally email the supervisor of this location with their manager CC’d in order for anything to be done. I never personally spoke to the supervisor of this location either. If you would like more feedback I would be happy to speak on the phone.

Unfortunately it was not. I signed up later into the day and I didnt realize the facility closed at 7pm . I had unloaded my car and i was in my unit organizing my belongings. I needed a few items suchas as clothes and toiletries for my stay in the hotel that evening. I also needed to charge my iphone and ipad as they were almost dead when i arrived. I had run an extension cord from the power outlet across from me into my unit and was attempting to charge my devices. i lost track of time and didnt realize the facility had closed. i went to my car at one point around 730 and noticed someone was either loading or unloading a truck so i thought they were still open. at around 845pm my daughter who is back in toronto called me on facetime so i was chattign with her and further lost track of time. at around 9pm i heardf someone shout "hello??" to which i replied "yes?? hi?" and i came out of my unit to see who was calling hello. an employee named Dinsen was there and was very rude to me. i was on the phone with my duaghter when he shouted at me "SIR!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WE ARE CLOSED. U CANNOT SLEEP IN YOUR UNIT. ITS FOR STORAGE NOT A HOTEL!! " and he just went on to berrate me for what he thought i was doing .i told my daughter i would call her back, as i was completely embarassed. i told dinsen i lost track of time, was my first day here and didnt realize that they closed . i thought they were open to 9 for some reason and the pointed out that the guy with the uhaul parked beside my car was still there so why would i think they were closed? i had to rush to get the items i needed for the night out of my boxes in the storage unit, all the while dinsen just stood there like an angry parent impatiently tapping his foot as if to signal "hurry up!" . after i had got everythiung i thought i needed i said to dinsen "what made you errorniously assume i was trying to sleep in my unit? did u see a bed when u were peering into my unit? did u see anything i could have slept on in there?" he studdered and said "Sir u were on a phone call with an extension cord in your unit. you're not allowed to do that. the unit is for storage. not for staying in" . i told him "Excuse me. Where does it say i cannot use the power outlet to charge my phone? i asked the customer service rep if they had electrical outlets because i needed to charge my phone badly amd she showed me where they were. if there was a rule prohitibing use of electrical outlets for charging phones it should have been communicated to me and should be posted on the outlet. if theyre not for charging devices, then what are they for then?" . he again studdered and said "for the construction crew to power their devices" . i told him that was complete nonsense and that i would like to know who his manager is. he told me "i am . dinsen . i am the manager" . i asked him skepctically "you're the manager of this whole facility?" and he replied yes he was. so i told him that i would contact corporate operations then and file a complaint. i had never been treated so poorly. i told him "sir, i have a 15 year career in IT and i'm a pilot. i make over $200k a year and certainly dont need to live in a uhaul unit. i ilost track of time, was unaware of closing time, and was charging my devices which i was told i could do. you embarssed me infront of my daughter and u shouldnt be in charge of anything." I also added "I am moving from toronto to calgary and had a very long day of driving, i dont need the stress and assumptions made by someone who even if they are the manager of this place, looks like he is 20 years old which is 4 years older the my oldest child" i want this guy to apologize to me personally, along with his manager. i have a mercedes which i would much rather not risk getting dirty or damaged from moving stuff. i rented a uhaul van previously which i paid $600 in kilometers,. i would like a free weeks rental of a 10' truck, unlimited kilometers included for this egergious and offensive assumption he made about me. or else i will cancel and go with any of the many other storage rental units out there. to summarize: Dinsen was very rude to me and accused me of trying to sleep in my unit simply because i lost track of time not knowing when the building closed. i had an extension cord to charge my devices and he gave me trouble for that.. he embarrased me infront of my daughter who i was talking to on facetime. he belittled me and embrassed me . i am an IT Professional and a pilot who makes over $200k a year. i want a personal apology from Dinsen and his manager, along with a with a free week rental of a 10' truck with unlimited km's . or i will take my business elsewhere and broadcast this horrible service all over my social media, which as a pilot, is a very global friend base.

Lauren G | First ImpressionsThe staff were helpful and friendly, the facility is clean and well lit. The only reason I would not recommend this location is cost. The first locker I tried to rent was a 5x8 and although the posters say it will fit a 1 bedroom apartment… it was too small and I don’t even have a sofa, table & chairs, nor any appliances… Staff helped me change to the next size up, but it ended up being too big and a lot more expensive!, Unfortunately I had no other choice. It was disappointing.

Kevin R | First Impressionsthe facility was a mess. maybe they are renovating but right now it is a real mess. very dirty, very uncomfortable - even for the employees, poor guys - and very insecure. when i arrived to load my container (which i did not know it, because i was told it was a storage place, not a box) i was left alone in the facility. i imagine if a burglar had this kind of access... The place itself is far away from a well organized UHaul facility. There's not enough space to the amount of trailers, vans and trucks. For manouvering a truck or a car with a trailer, it's very very hard for an amateur driver. The staff was always nice, nothing to complain, only congratulate them for their work in this very hard workspace.
JULIAN R | Overall ExperienceMy credit card had gotten charged for the first month of the storage containers that I had booked.. When I had booked it online, it clearly says that the first month's storage rent is free. When I was at the store, they had confirmed that the first payment will be charged on Aug 28th instead of July 28th. Please reverse the charges or do not charge my credit card for the second month of storage.
