U-Haul was a poor experience. I called several times asking about access to storage unit times and was given wrong information. A security guard.close the black gate in front of this storage unit 5 or sometimes 10 minutes ealrier than the time storage unit access supposed to be closed. So, several times I was unable to access.my unit because of this issue. This past Saturday I moved all belongings out my storage unit and cleaned it out. When I enter the door it smelled like andeadnrodent or something. I informed one of your employee about the smell and about my unit being cleaned out and she told me leave door up, which I did. Yet, I still received a bill reminder and I had to call them and asked about my unit being check. Also I did not feel safe health wise because everyone was not wearing a mask. I ordered my ubox from Alsip location on 122 and Cicero they were awful! I was never told these boxes are not for local moves. I told them I was moving from 111th and western to 111th and Cicero which is a 3 mile move. My boxes were picked up and we're going to be stored at your Brighton park location which obviously makes ZERO sense! Thankfully your delivery driver helped me out and set up drop off and delivery none of which was properly explained at this uhaul in Alsip. ZERO STARS FOR ALSIP UHAUL!!!!Robert M.

No issue with the truck rental. However, I reserved a storage unit online and it was confirmed, only to arrive and be told it was no longer available. This left me scrambling to find another storage within two hours. The store should of notified me prior to my arrival. Huge inconvenience.MARCO R.

My Ubox was transferred to this location from the Alsip location without my knowledge. To make matters worse, I called the Alsip store to let them know I wanted to move out. The guy looked up my information and told me that I could come anytime prior to 7:00pm. When I arrived they could not find my box and after 30 minutes told me it was transferred back in March! Imagine the frustration of being told this even after you've called to confirm a pickup. I wondered why my fees went up $9 staring back around March. I again called the store only to be told they weren't sure but looks like taxes. How about we moved your box and these are Chicago taxes! Nothing. Very disappointing!!!!! Can't say I'll use Uhaul again or recommend after this experience.Shineen H.

We received no information on how to pick up equipment at this location since it was self-service. We did receive a call when we were late picking up the truck, but as my daughter arrived she couldn't find anyone to help her. Additionally, I'd reserved a furniture dolly for her truck. She didn't know until pick up that none were available. She was then sent to another location on her own mileage dime with the truck to pick up a dolly...where again none were available to rent. Finally they told her she could buy one when they overheard her talking to me about trying to go to Home Depot to buy one.Susan F.

I had a negative experience with this UHaul location. I rented a 24/7 truck share and hired moving labor several weeks ahead of my move. My movers and I arrived at this UHaul location at 8:00am, ready to pick up my rental truck with UHaul's mobile self-service, only for me to receive a message through the app that I would not be able to pick up my rental until the facility opened an hour later at 9:00am. When the facility opened, I received another message through the app that a vehicle had not been assigned to my reservation and I would need to get assistance from an agent inside the location. Inside, the agent informed me that this location no longer offers 24/7 truck share because they were experiencing theft and vandalism, that the agent who worked the day before was supposed to call me to tell me that, and that a truck wasn't ready yet so I would need to wait. Their special policy isn't listed anywhere on the UHaul website nor in the confirmation email, and I received no communication in the several weeks between booking my reservation and my actual move date. I asked the agent if there was anything she could do to accommodate for the inconvenience and lack of communication on UHaul's part (given that we were 1.5 hours behind schedule at this point), but she ignored my question and rang up my reservation with the standard price. She didn't acknowledge my request until I asked her to clarify that the standard price meant she wasn't able to do anything about the situation, at which point she replied, â€œNo.â€ On top of all of that, the truck had a cracked driver's side mirror and only 1/8 tank of gas and I ended up paying my movers extra to stay past their scheduled time. I selected â€œI don't agree with the chargesâ€ on my UHaul truck rental return form, but UHaul hasn't called me yet to discuss my experience. Don't waste your time with this facility.Joe S.

My unit had roaches i bought roach traps to place on my door . It looks Like their coming from some one around my unit .. I went there to rent a 10x30 on phone that was reserved a 10x30...instead I receive 2 10x15..unit wasnt long enough...and was held hostage there, not allowed to leave forced to rent a second truck when there were still 61/2 hours available on 1st truck, wasted 10 hours of time on use of minivan being stuck at facility unloading and reloading for 10 hours...being charged $500 a day to finishing packing a building whereas not getting any work there as was at 47th street location from around noon til 10pm. Reserved storage locker and will waiting for counter girl to prepare contract...she answered other call and made me stand there 25 minutes ...then finally finish rental...then took on tour of units left me standing in warehouse in my orthopedic book post amputation surgery to hobble around lost while they did something else. I am appalled at unprofessionalism, neglect and abuse by employees. Also reserved a truck at 2801 s. Pulaski and sat there for 3 hours trying to get different rental...which had a $50 Reservation guarantee be which I haven't received Your repeated lies and abuse are unreal.
